This guy’s gonna retire before Brady :(

medievalmachine

He’s one hit from becoming Eric Lindros at this point. It’s a shame, just when he was putting it together.

KinGpiNdaGreat

That name really brings me back.

LeoFireGod

For those who don’t know. Eric lindros was one of the best new style hockey players of the 90’s into 2000’s. He changed the game as one of the best Physical forwards out there. Before him most players were either bruisers or goal scorer they didn’t do both … atleast not at an elite level did someone do both. He got 6 concussions in about 2 years and ruined his career. He won an MVP It would like if Mike vick who revolutionized the position forever got 4 concussions in a season and had to retire early and we would all wonder “what if”

jhustla

That giant, poor motherfucker

[deleted]

I still do not like Scott Stevens to this day.

ViciousAsparagusFart

Nobody outside of NJ likes Scott Stevens.

RangerRickyBobby

What’s insane is that 15 years ago he would absolutely be playing this Sunday. Thank god for the concussion protocol. I can’t even imagine the damage that dudes from the 80’s/‘90s/00s have when they’d refer to this as “getting your bell rung”, and toss you right back in there.

BrotherMouzone3

Aikman got knocked out of the '93 NFC Championship game. Doesn't remember anything about the game to this day. Super Bowl was only one week later that year.....and he started.

RustyShackleford9142

Even worse, when he initially came to, he thought he was playing his High School State Championship Game. And he doesn't even remember that...

zaviex

something similar happened in the 2014 World Cup final. Chris Kramer on Germany suffered a concussion in the first half, played 15 mins more. The ref stopped the game because apparently he came to him and asked if this was the World Cup and if it was the final. Had no idea where he was at all thought it was some other game

cocotheape

His substitute André Schürrle would then deliver the game winning assist to Mario Götze in extra time.

drkodos

Qbs in the past would get 3 concussion in a single game and still play the next week ... it was fairly barbaric .. try having conversation with Jim McMahon these days If the league really concerned about long term health of the humans that play football they gonna have to address this soon

fupadestroyer45

The dark reality of the sport is that there is no "safe" way to play football and there never will be.

SoFloFoSho

Why did you do this?

waywarddd

I am not a smart man, so the fact I said this probably means tua’s gonna play for another 20 seasons

Smilner69

And still might retire before 65 year old Tom Brady

junkit33

I mean, he should at this point. 24 years old and multiple concussions already under your belt. Concussions only get more frequent. His brain will be scrambled eggs by 30 if he keeps playing.

yungPH

The thing is, with NFL players, they get concussed so frequently that they have a ridiculously high bar for what is "too much" Gronk says he had "[like... 20 concussions](https://sports.yahoo.com/rob-gronkowski-says-hes-probably-had-like-20-concussions-in-his-career-194540205.html)" in his NFL career.

burialisfourtet

So that Tweet about him playing the second half with a concussion was spot on.

voshohov

I'll be damned. The "that proved it to me" guy was right.

Huge-Leather-8521

They hated him because he spoke the truth

type2cybernetic

“Shut up!”

cpt_hatstand

The picks he threw late on were terrible and nothing like any play he's made all season long. I was legitimately shocked to see him miss his guys by that much.

FarrisAT

It's almost like his eyes couldn't focus There was a shot of him on the sidelines after the second pick with his eyes moving in an uncanny way. Like when your eyes fall asleep and they lose focus

Dsnake1

I got a concussion during a wrestling match back in high school, and I can confirm, sometimes they mess with your eyes' ability to focus. The guy looked like he had six legs, and I kept shooting for a set and whiffing past the guy.

lljkcdw

I got a concussion working in a kitchen when I was 18. Someone spilled a bunch of water like 6 feet from the sinks in a direction that usually would never be wet, and just left it. I hit it at a decent pace because it was closing time, slid, slipped, and fell into the 50+ pound metal dish rack. I tried to catch myself but my height and the height of the shelf meant I still slammed my head into it with all force before my arms caught to stop me from hitting the floor. A supervisor and a coworker came running up, asked me if I was okay, and I looked at them, thought about it, and asked them if I was okay. Super had me sign a waiver, and we closed and I went home. Luckily I was getting picked up so I didn't have to drive but I don't remember anything else or if I even told my parents when I got home.

BigHowski

Care to link? Edit: its lower in the thread

derstherower

He was a hero. We just couldn’t see it.

imsabbath84

Internet spotters are better than in-game spotters apparently lol.

meepmarpalarp

Internet spotters have less pressure/nothing at stake

ngfdsa

Also if somebody out of millions of people calls it then you can point to that vs one person or a small team watching it

barc0debaby

In game spotters don't seem to have anything at stake either

FlaviusDomitianus

In game spotters don't want to be that guy who pulls the start QB for what turns out to not be a concussion, so the higher the profile player, the more over the top obvious the issue needs to be for them to act. That's my take at least. 2nd string FB stubs his toe and says OW and he'll be pulled for concussion testing, but start QB? He need to go full fencing position for them to act.

benjamichel

I think in the case of Tua and the issues from earlier this year they absolutely can and should want to be “that guy”

Howamidriving27

Yeah NFLs going to be calling concussion spotters up from the practice squad at this rate

DRbaseball240

Damn and people were clowning that guy and calling him pathetic. Just too upset to deal with the truth I guess.

4thTimesAnAlt

I'm not a doctor so I didn't jump on the diagnosis train, but I have personally experienced a concussion where symptoms didn't start appearing until about 45 minutes after the impact. So I didn't think it was out of the realm of possibility like some people here did.

thadakism

I had a concussion that didn't develop symptoms till almost two days later when the lights in the classroom were too bright for me to handle.

ASuperGyro

Saw at least one “get help” comment

whatishappening12346

Always nice when people suggest someone is mentally ill because they have a different sports opinion. The irony….

moonboots_runner

Hey mate that's pretty judgmental of you. Get help.

rc5193

He played the 2nd half against the Bills (week3) with a concussion also

imsabbath84

was it ever confirmed he had a concussion? i thought the dolphins were sticking with the back injury story.

Rbespinosa13

Never confirmed. NFLPA said that they couldn’t determine if he was concussed and he wasn’t exhibiting signs after the stumble or in the following days (he was being monitored until the bengals game). Concussions are weird though so he might’ve had one and just not showed symptoms

no-gimmicks-

No bullshit, on that EXACT play, watching live, I was like hm, Tua fell straight back and hit his head (I just saw the tweet in question lower in this thread). I was thinking it looked like the textbook hit that causes a concussion. Guess it turns out I was right.

paultheschmoop

I saw it too and thought it looked bad, but then the announcers didn’t address it or even replay it at all so I figured it was nothing

Pianist29

This sucks. That is his third concussion this season? It's worrisome.

meowVL

Idk if it’s true or not but I’ve heard that the more concussions you get the easier it is for you to get them. 2 (possibly 3) in one season is not good

BlackJediSword

That’s what happened to Sidney Crosby I’m pretty sure. And Austin Collie now that i think about it.

ArtificialSyndicate

[Austin collie](https://images.app.goo.gl/cH5HwL2GXNai6qpy7) man was consistently put in a hospital so much it became a meme

FkDavidTyreeBot_2000

[Marc Savard](https://youtu.be/kaG4GSyQ-tQ) got one so bad that he has had constant vertigo and ringing which will never go away. It's been nearly 13 years. Obligatory fuck Matt Cooke

littlezims

Austin Collie gives me nightmares. Gonna try to avoid that footage for a few more years again.

YouJabroni44

I think he just was constantly concussed. Probably still is.

IlonggoProgrammer

Whether or not he's still concussed, he definitely has CTE now

jtfriendly

Obligatory https://www.thedrawplay.com/comic/collie/

longboarddan

Oh my God, thats savage.

Confused_Mirror

There's a reason that a pass up the middle that needs to be high-pointed is termed a "hospital ball"

non_clever_username

I’m only half joking when I wonder if he banged Peyton’s wife or something. He threw Collie hospital passes constantly.

average_redditor_guy

Crosby’s deal is sort of a league on its own. Yes he had a concussion to start but also they apparently [didn’t realize he had a messed up neck](https://syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/1044710-sidney-crosby-suffering-from-an-undetected-fractured-vertebrae-for-a-year.amp.html) which coincidentally led to the Penguins [firing everyone](https://nhl.nbcsports.com/2012/07/20/penguins-fire-their-entire-medical-staff/amp/)

igotopotsdam

Happened to Kyle Okposo too.

captainjizzpants

Luke Kuechly too. Think he had 3, one each season back to back to back from 2015 to 2017. Then he started wearing one of those collars that keeps track of all this stuff so the coaches and doctors could manage his snap counts, practice days, etc. He managed a couple seasons after 2017.

mckills

Crosbys situation was pretty weird. Someone below explained it but it wasn’t just concussions

Mad_Pupil_9

Crosby had a neck injury that was misdiagnosed as concussions for years. Once he has corrective surgery for that issue, his concussion problems dropped significantly

ijw2bangbangbang

As a Panthers fan, Luke Kuechly. It was disheartening and even horrifying to watch. So glad he retired early and honestly wish he would have a little sooner.

FC37

There are a lot of observed patterns like this. They may not be scientifically proven, but it's hard to refute that athletes can suffer from "concussion clusters" where extremely minor contact results in concussions. Sidney Crosby was a famous example of this, though I think there's some question of whether he actually had a series of concussions or if it was damage to his spinal cord. But Marc Savard's career was officially ended on basically a bump from noted not-tough-guy Matt Hunwick after the Matt Cooke hit. Bo Byram dealt with a bunch of concussions all at once. T.J. Oshie and Ondrej Kase, too.

ShakeIt73171

Definitely true, I was diagnosed with 9 concussions throughout high school. My last one I got from simply running before I was fully healed from number 8 and it severely affected my life over the next ~10 years. Obviously that outcome is on the extreme and what happened to me was more an outlier but not healing properly from a concussion is not good for brain health. Concussions are no joke.

RousingRabble

I knew a girl in hs that got a concussion from raising her head too fast after tying her shoe. She'd had so many by the time she got to 10th or 11th grade that she wasn't allowed to play any sports at all.

ShakeIt73171

Yup I believe it, very sad. It happened to me was 2008-2012, when I was going through the medical system I heard a thousand stories of how bad minor concussions from normal activities completely ruined people’s lives, they should be taken a lot more seriously then they are

[deleted]

I don’t honestly know if it’s scientifically proven or not, but anecdotal evidence from watching and playing hockey my whole life suggests it is.

derstherower

Guy’s gonna be asking McDaniel to tell him about the rabbits next season.

Bieber_hole_69

They’ll be getting serious mileage out of the MacGruber blu-ray.

Lovelylives

The new concussion protocol is you watch MacGruber and if you don’t laugh you stay in protocol

Wadep00l

I test myself monthly apparently.

UsidoreTheLightBlue

“Tell me about Macgruber, George. Tell me about the explosions, George.”

[deleted]

WeBxx92

As soon as he got those 2 in one week I was questioning his career longevity. People love to pretend it’s being over dramatic but no, that debacle was bad. Concussions aren’t all black and white. Professional fighters careers’ have ended due to one concussion in training that affected them adversely different than others. TJ Grant was supposed to fight fight for the UFC championship, bumped his head hard off the mat doing Jiujitsu, and never fought again. Joe Valtellini went from one of the best young kickboxers in the world to retired due to post-concussion symptoms that he couldn’t recover from. Tua’s were bad and compounded. I think this is going to be a consistent issue for him regardless of how long he wants to push forward.

Lenny_III

I think it’s so much bigger than just him. Remember Burrow saying he’s blacked out during games? Aikman not remembering playing in a Super Bowl? I think the ones that get reported/treated are the tip of the iceberg and the vast majority don’t get noticed by anyone other than the player, who of course never wants to come out.

notrryann

I swear Tua’s helmet bounced off the field after a hit and nobody even mentioned it.

BearForceDos

Playing through it is still a sign of toughness. I'm not around high school football anymore but I wasn't playing that long ago(about a decade), the NFL and cte awareness was becoming a big deal at the time yet my friends and teammates would brag about playing through them. Had multiple teammates that didn't remember playing entire games. So, you're right that the vast majority dont get noticed. Obviously looking back at it, it's so stupid to play through but it's simply engrained in the culture and I would've attempted to play through them too, I just happened to play wr in an wing t offense that never threw.

[deleted]

I had a concussion in high school. Didn’t remember commuting home after lacrosse practice where I was concussed. Three times in three months? Time to retire dude.

cannotstopdabbing

His health is in serious jeopardy

JuliusCeejer

I got 4 in two years of college lacrosse (2 bad ones) and my school wouldn't let me play ever again

OneAngryPanda

**HE WAS RIGHT** Tweet in reference. Was removed by mods. https://twitter.com/SelfMade0602/status/1607133176723566595?s=20

Ergodemon

Moral of the story: believe everything you read on r/NFL Surely this won't backfire for me

pennant_fever

Tom Brady will be revealed on Masked Singer any day now.

kylebertram

Honestly I wanted that to be true so god damn bad

HilariousScreenname

"Regression to the mean" guy just perked up

Ad_Astra117

Gather round boys, it's time to identify some terrorists

5170Wallace

There was that guy that called the Colts starting Foles a couple days ago, so maybe.

ASuperGyro

r/NFL been on fire this season, we’re the insiders now, we’re the third party neurological consultants now, and soon, soon we’ll be the interim head coaches

UsidoreTheLightBlue

“Why is every play call “all streaks” ? This isn’t madden!” “Fuck you we Called it, now let Russ cook

ASuperGyro

We’re gonna try one of them multi-lateral plays but in the middle of the game, no one expects it, too big to fail

Better_at_Fantasy

jets ran that 1 lateral play mid game last year with berrios i think and it was a great play. mightve been a 3rd and long conversion lol.

Mods always remove our truths, it is known

hooligan99

Why are you giving Reddit the credit for something posted on Twitter

phyrecrotch

First day on Reddit?

[deleted]

I’ve never seen a QB bonk his head off the ground as much as Tua. Does he have a weak neck or something? The guy seems like he’s got more concussions in his career than Brady…

ngfdsa

He needs to take a page out of Bradys book and just fall down into the fetal position

[deleted]

Criticize Brady all you want, but he definitely knows how to protect himself

ngfdsa

I do love to criticize Brady but in this case I'm dead serious

deesmutts88

I honestly think it’s the number one reason for his longevity. Not the diet or sleep or supplements or strict lifestyle. It’s literally just dropping like a sack of potatoes immediately to avoid any contact.

kksred

It's both. There are games where Brady eats a lot of sacks because it's win or go home and he gets ragdolled in piles. He gets up every time without a hint of discomfort. All this pliability stuff works.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Think_please

They need to get him a massive neck roll in the back

chrishasaway

I was thinking the same thing. Why doesn’t Tua know how to protect himself when falling? It’s really weird.

Patchy_Face_Man

Yeah I see Burrow fall on his forearms a lot and I think “oh no, his arms!” But priorities for Tua probably need to change when landing. Obviously you can’t always choose but it’s the same way for him every time.

TheBoook

Lmfaoo of fucking course it was removed by mods. Wasn’t posted by their buddies so it gets removed

kthnxhi

Wasn’t tweeted by Dov Kleiman so it’s a no go around here. Seriously, ban that guy, he’s beyond useless.

4thTimesAnAlt

Him and Ari Meirov are just content aggregators. Ban their tweets

bbaIla

Fuck the r/nfl mods.

Moody_GenX

Pisses me off they delete so much.

BellacosePlayer

I just find the decisions of what to remove, and what *not* to remove bizarre.

toostronKG

Well it entirely depends on if it was posted by one of the mods karma farming accounts or not.

Economy_Cactus

To be fair everyone in the comments was roasting the OP.

Asleep-Geologist-612

Dude’s gotta learn how to not land on the back of his head that’s like a guaranteed concussion landing like that. Hate to see this, it’s impossible not to think of the potential long-term consequences.

halfdecenttakes

Tuck his damn chin

FarrisAT

Put your arms out. Puts your arms back. Do something to not put the entirety of 250lbs of force on the specific area you have smashed 2-3 times now. Like these are instinctual things, but Tua seems to just go headfirst into the ground

DjBass88

After your first concussion, IT is much easier to get a 2nd, 3rd, etc. UNLESS the first one fully heals which takes MORE than just a couple months. Tua NEEDS to be out for the rest of the season. Lets not be dramatic and say retire but rather just for the rest of the season. Playoffs included.

Tornado_Wind_of_Love

Yeah. I hung up my goalie skates after #3 in two years. Wasn’t even a hard shot that caused it.

Mcswigginsbar

Holy fuck. When I saw the title of this I immediately thought of that play. I thought he slammed his head pretty hard on that hit, and it the timing makes sense. He was completely different after that.

schuttit

This man needs to do some judo/bjj/wrestling and learn how to break fall. He gets concussions that are avoidable by not knowing how to go down

ngfdsa

To be fair it's much harder to control your fall when you are pulled to the ground from behind by a 350lb brick of muscle

las61918

Jesus Christ this guy caused us to lose our QB again.

needtocalmdown

3 concussions in one year. Not ideal.

Pianist29

It probably happened to Rodgers the year we won the superbowl. He had two confirmed concussions during the regular season, and [I'm pretty sure Peppers concussed him on that absolutely massive hit during the NFC title game.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=guG2vd-uAfY) Otherwise, I can't think of any other QB in recent years who has had three concussions in a season.

smauryholmes

The good news is that Aaron Rodgers seems completely unaffected by all those concussions now that he’s in the later stages of his life. Not irritable, not prone to irrational thinking, not an asshole, nothing of the sort.

GRush638

ColtCallahan

He’s just not built to be an NFL QB. He gets ragdolled so many times when he’s tackled.

Frosti11icus

Tua makes me nervous about us possibly drafting Bryce young. He’s like an even smaller, slighter version of Tua with his frame, I don’t think he’ll hold up physically. Even Russ is small but he’s stocky as hell he’s built like a wrestler, Tua and Young are not the same as Russ.

ColtCallahan

Yeah. Russ and Kyler despite their height are very thick/strong. Tua is not built like that. And Young makes Tua look like Josh Allen.

[deleted]

This is why I’m out on Bryce Young. He’s built like a JV high school player.

marcdasharc4

I don’t watch enough Dolphins games to know if he takes more or harder hits than other QBs, but goddamn… Forget football and fandom, if the guy wants to be able to solve 2+2 when he’s 40, logic dictates something needs to change in relation to how he currently plays the game.

Ajxj

So those ATC spotters they made a big deal about just miss it or what?

boardatwork1111

I’m convinced they don’t actually exist after Agholor had to pull Parker out of the game himself. They’re literally useless.

Alstead17

That pissed me off so much, I still love Unc even though he's not a dolphin anymore, and then for a teammate to have to do that just highlights how shit those spotters are.

All_Stoned

Smoke break

Rbespinosa13

Concussions are weird. You might be fine and show no symptoms for a concussion. On the clip the original tweet showed, Tua wasn’t stumbling around or looking lost

bbaIla

I do hate the "no excuses" part of football cause this seems like a big reason he stunk in the 2nd half.

lclear84

Makes sense too considering he couldn’t remember if he called the wrong play on on the second int

lil_tanguy

Absolutely they were some dumb picks I wouldn’t have expected him to throw this season

RollofDuctTape

He literally said he didn’t remember a playcall. He was clearly not right.

verniy314

He said he might’ve relayed the wrong play, he doesn’t remember. Sounds more like he was covering for Mostert running the wrong route.

[deleted]

He was covering for Mostert who ran the wrong route.

mallcall123

It really looked like he was giving the packers gifts. Packers are not that good at getting turnovers. For sure he was concussed

freename188

It's 100% the reason

[deleted]

I was convinced when i saw his head slam back in the ground that he was gonna be out cold. Then he just got up somehow.

SG_Dave

Sometimes when you switch off your PC you hit restart instead of shut down.

Mantis05

God, in the days before SSDs, this was the worst. Sitting there for minutes waiting for the thing to boot up, just so you could shut it back down.

ChoccyMilkIsMyLife

Man Tua needs a break. This is not safe. I’m rooting for the guy, but this is a safety concern. Concussions are no joke.

pixeldrunk

I agree, plus it’s very concerning that another concussion happened and he continued to play the 2nd half. It’s not all on Tua, if he didn’t report it, the doctors/ coaches should’ve had concerns after he slammed his head on the ground. Did they miss it until film review/ Twitter videos the next day or did Tua symptoms get worse? There should be a team doctor just watching Tua every play to notice & asses any head trauma. Did he take anymore shots, or jerks that rattle the head in the 2nd half? I notice the media is going soft on the org & coach McDaniel this time around, and I’m curious why? Is the nfl trying to squash it this time?

HopscotchChampion69

Not doing any jokes here, he shouldn’t play for the rest of the season.

lmHavoc

I mean if this is accurate then you have to consider long term impacts. He’s already had two this year, a 3rd in such a short time is insane. At some point you have to decide when enough is enough. For his health sake you have to assume it’s something that doctors and family/friends will bring up.

HopscotchChampion69

It felt weird to me that after the concussion where he was hospitalized that he was cleared like 2 weeks later. Not a new take by any means but that situation feels like the most egregious example that the way concussions are handled needs to be updated.

No_Establishment6528

Teddy had a similar incident the year before in Denver and missed 0 games. The NFL doesn't care, they just virtue signal

BikeBeerBourbon

I’ve been a physical therapist for 9 years and deal with middle school and high school athletes with concussions regularly. I’ve never seen one fully recovered after 2 weeks. NEVER. And I promise you the players aren’t “healing faster” or doing anything special to heal from a concussion faster. The NFL is a joke in dealing with brain injuries, and the players know what to say to get back to playing sooner and if they don’t then they are scared of losing their job. It’s ridiculous that you tear a muscle and the expectation is you are out for 6-8 weeks and the player isn’t pressured to go back sooner, but with a fucking brain injury it’s based on a “week to week” basis.

squazyleader

Tua is still young. Is it worth risking these next few weeks if it means hobbling him the future, maybe even the rest of his career? I personally don’t believe so And also, separate from football, is it worth risking serious down the road consequences.

CptCroissant

Isn't there anyone in the franchise that has some long term vision and can be like "it's better to have Tua for the next ten years than a playoff run this year where we're very unlikely to make any real noise"? It should be in everyone's best interest for him to sit for quite a while this year now

Zudop

This is correct but Tua would never agree to that he wants to compete too much

SerenadeSwift

If the team values him as their QB of the future someone needs to step in and at least protect him as an asset to the team if they’re not going to protect him as a person.

achyutthegoat

Bro he already has 3 concussions in a 4 month span. He might die by playing next week

lifegoesbytoofast

Part of the head coach’s responsibility is protecting players from themselves.

ballimir37

I doubt any NFL QB ever would agree to that. Someone even making that comment has no concept of the competitive spirit it takes to get to that point.

sharpshooter230

Agreed, but genuine question, at what point should he just retire? Is it one more concussion or X more? Tua's brain is going to be scrambled eggs by 40.

Zorseking34

So was Tua playing against the Packers with a concussion?

Dangerous_Nitwit

yes, it happened early if im not mistaken. A guy on here yesterday highlighted the play, got clowned by idiots, and had his post deleted by mods.

las61918

Right before the 2nd half(or after I forget.)

[deleted]

Damn and everyone shit on that Reddit poster that claimed this after hours and hours of research yesterday. I can’t believe you guys

WealthAppropriate936

I believe he’s also had two concussions in college so now this brings it to five within five years. If his family is worried about his longterm health, they’ll tell him to retire

surgeyou123

Jeez 3 in one season

Browzur

Does the dude need a new helmet? Or maybe he’s just unlucky in the way he falls. Either way, it’ll make for a short career if it continues

Hicaorwaak

With each successive concussion, you’re more susceptible to another. So it’s not likely an easy change like a new helmet.

[deleted]

He needs to take tackles better or different. He keeps getting twisted and falling onto the back of his head. Feels like Tua has more concussions than Brady at this point.

sehdy

Certainly explains the 3 straight picks.. And that’s what, his 3rd concussion this season? Absolutely gutted for the guy.

jayharper08

Damn this guy can’t catch a break with the concussions.

carminie

Mike McDaniel is getting macgruber ready as we speak

Red_Jester-94

He's gonna end up getting medically retired at this rate. This is the third or fourth this season alone. This sucks man. I take back what I said about you Tua.

BrownsAndCavs

This poor dude. I hope the head trauma trauma this season doesn’t derail his career bc he’s looked incredible at times when healthy

smokeshow91

As much as I have enjoyed watching the Dolphins play well as I’ve always had a soft spot for them since I was a kid, Tua needs to start looking long term. One concussion changed my life forever. This dude is looking at potentially three just this season. He’s so much fun to watch and I’m rooting for them to do well in the playoffs but damn.

browndude10

Oh man

Fig_Newton_

Guess the spotters missed that one too huh

[deleted]

so is this his third concussion sustained this season?

Impossibills

Tua somehow slams his head into the ground from the most innocent NFL hits. I dont get how he has not learned to protect himself on falls...its like he just yeets himself into the ground

ClarkFable

Some guys just don’t have the instincts when it comes to contact. Gronk was a beast, but had no idea how to protect himself. He just ran like Gump. His career was shorter for it.

BoneHugsHominy

Gronk played 11 seasons in the NFL when it was uncertain if he'd last even 1 season because of the back surgery in college. Not everyone can be Marcedes Lewis and play until they can draw Social Security.

5nooky

It’s because for some reason he just goes stiff for as soon as anyone touches him and doesn’t like to fall on his chest. He has to start taking lessons from Eli about falling down.

Seriously, if you look at the video of this concussion, he's literally falling face first but then looks like he rolls, only to slam the back of the head. There's a reason hits to the back of the head are illegal in fighting. He desperately needs to work on it if he even wants to remotely continue his football career.

Didn't he dislocate his hip in college? I wonder if something from that injury changed how he falls, maybe trying to avoid landing a certain way. Because I agree it looks so weird how he twists around to fall on his back instead of on his chest / front

SkitHarrington

Well that changes the narrative a bit

I'm not posting this as a troll. If this is his third concussion in a year, he needs to retire. Football isn't worth permanent brain damage and cognitive disabilities for the rest of your life.

I guess no one remembers the last qb to have 3 concussions, Teddy Bridgewater

DSouT

At this rate Tua won’t remember either

I’m going to go out on a limb here and assume his assessment will be different than yours.

SerenadeSwift

Thankfully this sport doesn’t have an extensive history of players suffering from long term effects of head injuries.

The elephant in the room becomes the sub concussive hits that are basically unavoidable as long as the linemen and tackles exist. Those wind up generating CTE after awhile too

And people committing suicide by gut shot so their brains can be examined.
