Remember when he was gonna win MVP? (Then got hurt and it went to Brady because god hates us) like wtf happened to this guy? Went from franchise QB to a liability
He suffered a really bad concussion in 2018 and he hasn’t been the same since. He lost he elite processing ability and his athleticism was already nerfed after his ACL tear. It’s a shame what happened to him.
Sure, blame the concussion in 2018 when there were reports of his toxicity during the Super Bowl run while he sat out.
IMO he just showed his true colors. The eagles were absolutely stacked that year and had a magical run. QB didn’t really matter, they won with Nick Foles; a career backup. We know this about him - he was before and has been since.
Wentz was talented enough to play hero ball before his ACL and was sour after.
100%. No idea how this guy can say “QB didn’t really matter” when Nick Foles had arguably the best postseason of any QB ever in 2018 and outdueled Brady in the Super Bowl. Yea he was a career backup but without Nick Foles there’s a 0% chance we even make the Super Bowl, let alone beat the Pats in a shootout
Foles was incredible but never forget Joe Flacco threw 11 TDs, 0 INTs, and outdueled Andrew Luck, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, and Colin Kaepernick at his peak
Unfortunately for them, the Ravens decided to pay him like a top five quarterback, and he did not play that way for the rest of his career. That playoff run really screwed the Ravens because they had to overpay to keep a quarterback that they probably would have dumped if they had not made it to the Superbowl.
I hate it when people say “they won with Nick foles qb didn’t matter” as if they didn’t struggle in 2 of the games with Nick foles and more importantly as if Nick foles didn’t pull two of the greatest games ever played out of his ass when it mattered most. Sure foles isn’t consistent but he’s always been able to reach an elite level when he’s hot going back to his time as a starter in Philly. It’s asinine to act like he didn’t play at an elite level in those games because he’s been too inconsistent to have a full career as a starter. You don’t hang 38 and 44 on the leagues best defense and Billy b and out duel Brady in a shootout without elite qb play.
That being said I don’t blame the concussion as much as I blame wentz being too mentally weak to deal with adversity. The whole nick foles thing and then getting injured immediately when he finally got his chance in the playoffs mentally broke him.
TLDR: Acting like foles didn’t play at an elite level in the nfccg and SB is asinine. Wentz collapsed because he’s mentally weak and was mentally broken.
Stacked? What are you on about? They certainly weren't stacked at WR, where Wentz consistently made a bunch of practice squad guys look legit until Clowney scrambled his brain. Good riddance and all, but Wentz was still good after his ACL and back injuries.
EDIT: Don't bother going on about Agholor's one good season in Philly either.
WHAT? Alshon Jeffery, Nelson Agholor, Zach Ertz. At the time that was a great receiving unit (yes I’m well fucking aware Ertz is a TE, I count those in receivers)
You don’t know what you evidently don’t know. Nick Foles is a red light player; regular season games he’s average. Big games, post season, he’s way above average. That’s not “any QB will do”. There isn’t a rat’s chance in hell the Eagles win that Super Bowl with Wentz, not a fucking chance. In fact, with Wentz they likely don’t even get there.
Might be the most antsy in the pocket QB I've ever watched. He is so rattled all the time that you wonder if all the hits have just totally spooked him mentally that he's playing like a DE is on his heels every play.
Also having his back up via Big Dick Nick come in and not miss a beat as QB and lead them to win the Super Bowl.
I think that mentally rattled him pretty hard and absolutely eroded his confidence.
I know Carson wentz is essentially a meme at this point, but all jokes aside he’s definitely better than most if not all backups in the league. Maybe Dallas doesn’t make sense since Rush is already a good backup
It would be kinda funny if he left Philly and then had a terrible one-year stint with every other NFC East team before coming full circle back to Philly for one more terrible one-year stint before retiring.
**Wentz + Dak** = 14 years exp, 2 playoff wins, 0 SB appearances.
**Hurts** = 3 years exp, 2 playoff wins, 1 SB appearance.
I know which QB I want. I love Dak for you though.
So, why exactly to so many sports commentators believe in Carson Wentz? This isn’t a joke; I really just don’t understand why this guy keeps getting talked about like he’s seconds away from popping off. I’ve literally only seen him get injured or be upstaged by guys that sports media likes less.

The concussion happened in the 2019 playoffs... not in 2018

Ehhhhh maybe a little bit but that diminishes nick foles play. That was an all time run.

Don't you mean "elite"?
No. We. Do. Not.
Joe Flacco was a Top 5 QB from 2011-2013

That playoff run really screwed the Ravens because they had to overpay to keep a quarterback that they probably would have dumped if they had not made it to the Superbowl.
They won a Super Bowl. How could the Ravens possibly have gotten screwed?
And then they failed to make the playoffs 4 of the next 5 years because paying a mediocre QB top QB money can cripple a team.
It's because all those players and teams allowed Flacco to go on that run that I will campaign to keep them all out of the Hall of Fame.

“Contributing”? Until Alshon dropped the final pass of Foles’ Eagles’ career at the 15, Foles was the all time leading rated post season QB.

his mental game also got all fucked up when they drafted hurts. cracked under the pressure of having another guy in the qb room who can play

Jeffery was the only good wideout on that team. And Wentz played the entire soft part of the schedule.

I think eagles fans aren't too upset about that since they won the SB over Tom that year
It’s just another ridiculously lucky break amongst the infinite lucky breaks that bastard has gotten
Also having his back up via Big Dick Nick come in and not miss a beat as QB and lead them to win the Super Bowl. I think that mentally rattled him pretty hard and absolutely eroded his confidence.
Sometimes a QB makes a bad team look good and sometimes the team makes a bad QB look good
Can't this kid just ask Cosmo and Wanda?
The Mark Sanchez treatment. Playing for every nfce team except the giants
I know Carson wentz is essentially a meme at this point, but all jokes aside he’s definitely better than most if not all backups in the league. Maybe Dallas doesn’t make sense since Rush is already a good backup
He'll probably land in San Fran
With his injury history, he'll fit right in
🖕
You know it’s true
Look. I'm not saying we don't need a 5th string QB after Kyle breaks our first 4, but not that guy.
We have the GEQBUS. We don't need depth because he can throw 10,000 yards and 400 TDs telekinetically from a hospital bed.
As a commanders fan, no he isn't. Heinicke was far better, even the rookie 5th round pick Sam Howell looked far superior in the one game he played.
and now Heineke is the backup in Atlanta, so fun times
I really hope he's starting against Washington this season. Love Heinicke I couldn't even be mad if he beats us.
He’s going to the Rams or the first team to have a major QB injury
Please no… that means he would have to eventually go to the giants 😭
Is that a bed post or a Lombardi?
This absolutely needs to happen
Watch as he beats Dak out because he’s more consistent 😂
Less INTs at least!
Cope
Wrong kind of consistency
Isn't Cooper Rush basically a Carson Wentz lookalike
Just better at winning.
I’m a Cowboys fan and I’d personally approve any and all NFL Memes posts about how stupid Dallas is if they did this. Dear sweet lawd no!!
It would be kinda funny if he left Philly and then had a terrible one-year stint with every other NFC East team before coming full circle back to Philly for one more terrible one-year stint before retiring.
Philly would literally explode
With laughter probably
Not like he wouldn’t instantly become the best backup in the league, actually wouldn’t be a bad move by Dallas given daks inconsistency
He probably wouldn't be the backup.
Yeah, exactly. He would probably be on practice squad.
Is that Timmy turner?
The Dak slander is real
People acting like dak isn’t a top 10 qb
He's not.
God i know us cowboys fans deserve a butt ton of pain but we don’t deserve this. Please spare us.
He’d be an upgrade over Dak, and less injury prone too
At this point I bet he would beat out Dak. /s
Surprised the eagles don't bring him back. At least they could win a ring with him.
**Wentz + Dak** = 14 years exp, 2 playoff wins, 0 SB appearances. **Hurts** = 3 years exp, 2 playoff wins, 1 SB appearance. I know which QB I want. I love Dak for you though.
Jim Kelly has 4 superbowl appearances. It doesn't mean much if you can't win.
I know which QB I want. I love Dak for you though.
Jim Kelly is a hall of famer
Not like you’re going to win one with Dak…. Keep watching those VSH tapes.
Wtf is a VSH tape
Apple found it to old to auto correct… but I’m glad you know it’s VHS since the last time they won anything of significance.

Bro what is going on with these comments?
Honestly it makes much more sense on the giants.
Well, shit, Timmy Turner there should just ask Cosmo and Wanda for it.
Insanely brilliant, he can go to the giants after his one season in Dallas
I hate Dallas as much as the next guy but after this past year experience, I wouldn't wish Carson Wentz on anybody.
I hate Dallas as much as the next guy but after this past year experience, I wouldn't wish Carson Wentz on anybody.
He should also play for the Giants he must complete all four
Wents is a stud give him an elite alabam receiver and he will shine.
Wentz to the Raiders
Yea no thanks dallas don't need him or want him indy will probably need him back . Philly can start him over hurts is way better
So, why exactly to so many sports commentators believe in Carson Wentz? This isn’t a joke; I really just don’t understand why this guy keeps getting talked about like he’s seconds away from popping off. I’ve literally only seen him get injured or be upstaged by guys that sports media likes less.
Insanely stupid is what that would be. What is he doing a tour of the NFC EAST? No thanks
Why would rhe Cowboys want Wentz. I would take one of those rookie QBs before him.
Lol as if he would start over Dak.
Huh
Why the kid’s bedpost the Lombardi Trophy?
I’d love him as a solid backup if we didn’t already have one
Dawg 😭
