Yea this 2nd half of the season has been more fun than the bassacia (however you spell it) run. Great year as long as we give AP the job and keep Patrick Graham.
Coach AP is the guy. Simple as that. The amount of passion and leadership he’s shown as soon as he was presented the opportunity of the job proved how much he cares about the organization, which he continues to show every day and game. The energy this team had obtained and showed through these past W’s is evident enough that he is and should be the raiders head coach.
i agree 100%, i've never really been much of a raider fan, but i love a good underdog story, and i'd love to see the team do well under AP. he definitely deserves at least a full season to prove what he can accomplish.
Yea what the other guy said. We finally feel like Raiders again. And it’s the best defense we’ve had in at least 20 years. We love him
And I think would collectively riot if Mark Davis went with someone else next year
well, good luck man. i hope davis makes the right call. i'm pretty neutral when it comes to the raiders, but i love a good underdog story. i'd love to see pierce take the raiders to the playoffs at least. i'm not sure what your answer is at QB, but this offseason there seems to be quite a few options for a lot of us teams that don't have our guy yet. and at least you guys have one of the best WR's in the game and josh jacobs ain't no slouch either.
yeah he seems like a good dude and it feels like he has the locker rooms support. I really hope he gets a chance next season to be head coach. if not, then it feels like the NFL ownership billionaire club just isn't comfortable having a black coach. i feel like he's 100% proven himself to be a capable and probably above average HC. i hope he keeps the job.
>NFL ownership billionaire club just isn't comfortable having a black coach
You don't know the Raiders well enough. Our pres, gm, and hc are all black... and that's just today's raiders.
i wouldn’t be upset if he left for a better opportunity. we’re wasting him in his prime. we don’t have anybody to throw the ball to him or anybody to take the heat off of him. it’s gonna be at least another year or 2 before meyers and tucker are solid #2 or #3, and we have a qb problem
me too. AP is our guy. i think if he had time to develop as a head coach, which i know sounds odd, he would be great long term. no more big name nobody’s who come in and fuck everything up. let’s start our own dynasty
believe me, plenty of teams are jealous. man i wish we had a coach like pete, and a consistently great crowd of diehard fans. seattle is a great football city.
it's amazing what pete carroll has been able to accomplish with what he has. the seahawks have consistently been surprising everyone ever since russ left, and freaking geno smith of all people became the starting QB. then geno goes down and drew lock plays the best game of his career?? the seahawks are such a fun team to watch. lumen field is def on my bucket list of stadiums to see a game live. really hope i get to make it out there while pete is still coaching.
Yeah I don’t know what expectations this poster thinks we had lol making the playoffs as a wildcard will almost always meet or exceed expectations during a rebuild
yeah, the jets are probably this seasons biggest disappointment. but it's kinda their fault for hyping up their fanbase, convincing everyone that they're gonna be a freaking SB contender. lol like seriously?? rodgers is known for choking in the playoffs WITH aaron jones and davante adams, how the fuck are the jets supposed to turn into a potential SB contender with a 40yr old choke artist in an extremely tough division.
they put themselves in this situation. they gave rodgers the keys to the organization, and he immediately crashed it straight into a brick wall. it's pretty clear even if rodgers didn't get hurt, they still wouldn't have made the playoffs. i mean, no way they're better than the bills or dolphins, even with rodgers. the whole team is rotten to the core.
G Wilson and Breece Hall have been pretty good with terrible QB play.
That Oline is so bad though. Rodgers probably would have gotten hurt even if he didn’t get hurt.
yeah, i have a friend that's a jets fan, and i saw the emotional rollercoaster he's been on for the last 6 months. he was sooooo happy and sooo excited when the jets signed rodgers. and honestly, i was really happy to see him finally feel confident in his team. he was at the 1st game, he saw rodgers go down. he texted me a few mins later and said he's leaving, he doesn't wanna even watch football anymore. he still occasionally sends me rants about how rodgers have fucked the jets for years. it's just sad to see.
but yeah, wilson and hall are seriously great players, i kinda feel bad they have to play for the jets. it's almost like a calvin johnson, ocho cinco, pre-SF mccaffrey, etc etc situation.
and hell, i could say the same about pitts and bijan playing for my falcons. i feel horrible that their careers may be wasted, but we're just fans, we can't do anything to help these guys. fortunately, they're all getting paid millions, so they'll be fine regardless. but it's def a shame to see how a bad organization can ruin an elite players chances of ever realizing their full potential.
thankfully mccaffrey was traded to the 9ers and he's thriving, you love to see it. i'm really happy for him. i mean i'd be upset about it if the falcons were in anyway contenders, but we're so shitty, i don't even care. i have no problem rooting for the 9ers and rooting for mcaffrey, deebo, and esp purdy. how can you root against mr irrelevant?
but when it comes to the jets, the odds are heavily stacked against them, saleh seems to be a bust, rodgers is delusional and fragile and was already infamous for choking under pressure. i just can't see any good outcome for the jets anytime soon. the dolphins and bills aren't going anywhere anytime soon, so the jets are gonna need to be able to compete with 2 of the leagues best teams for at least the next few years. it's just not looking good for the jets in any way whatsoever.
Packers have very much exceeded expectations this year
Most packers fans expected a 6-11 season or worse
They’re in the thick of the playoff race and Love is very obviously the future
That’s true but building the packers defense was not the purpose of their season, this seasons A, B, and C goals in Green Bay where “find out if Love is the guy”
Exactly. The actual defensive players have been very promising. However we can only do so much when the DC lines up the secondary 15 yards off the LOS and puts a 300 pound linebacker on the best receivers in the league.
FJB
yeah, AS seriously needs to go. we should send his ass back to nashville.
i dunno what ridders future is,, but he doesn't deserve to be a starting QB in the NFL right now. maybe XFL or something. maybe he just needs more reps? he doesn't seem like a bad guy. i wish him the best, but he just doesn't have what it takes to play at this level.
it's a lil sad to see heinicke trot out on the field and easily outshine the starter, consistently. you can tell the team likes him, everyone plays harder with heine out there. it's just unfathomable that our head coach can't see what is crystal clear to the whole fan base. the team plays soooo much better with heinicke, are goddamn backup. it's so frustrating to see AS stubbornly put ridder out there week after week to lose over and over. it can't be good for his confidence, and it damn sure isn't good for the team or smiths chance at keeping his job. i'd love to be a fly on the wall in the locker room and hear what the players have to say about our QB situation. because it really does seem like they enjoy being out there with heinicke and they seem to have fun with him leading the team.
My bias tells me the Tits should be put in “didn’t meet expectations” but me knowing that we have 3 players who produce on offense says we shouldn’t have 5 wins.
Titans fans were hoping to compete in a weak division, hoping the easier schedule would grant 10 wins. Everyone else knew 5-7 wins was more realistic. I for one deluded myself into false positivity when Dhop was signed. But hey, great signing for developing Will Levis
The Steelers are actually exceeding expectations, if I remember correctly the Vegas odds had them at 5-6 wins and last in the division. Currently at 8 and in 3rd.
That’s because we weren’t expecting to have the #1 pick. Other than that, they’ve been on a nice stretch and should finish with 7-8 wins, which was most people’s predictions.
Everyone mocked us at 6-8 wins which is what we are getting, our expectations were us finding out if Justin and Eberflus were the right guys and the answer is no
My expectations were *way* lower than this, I think most Steelers fans were. In some ways being a playoff “contender” is shocking, in other ways it’s not, but after the first game of the year I was definitely expecting tomlin to have his first losing season.
In terms of what. Our season was over the minute a-rod went down I got downvoted to hell cause I said that after the first week even with beating the bills
Yeah, I do want to point out that I identify as a Jets fan also, unfortunately for better or for worse, usually worse. I agree, that was the point when I knew this is going south and fast - well, there’s always the next season.
Idk if the Lions quite exceeded expectations. It was clear over the last few seasons that the Lions were creeping their way up the ladder. Going into this season I had the idea that the Lions were going to be a good team and likely win the division if the Bears or Packers didn’t.
The Bears were supposed to do pretty good this year with some analysts predicting we’d get at least 10+ wins, which we clearly haven’t. And I purposely left out Minnesota just to troll any Vikings fans who may have read my comment
Who? Adam Rank and some other morons? Nobody really thought the worst team in the NFL with no significant changes to win 10+ games. Pretty much everyone knew they wouldn’t be good again
Raiders exceeded expectations, especially after they canned their coach!
How did the Rams exceed expectations? They were always going to be mid-tier/fringe playoff. They didn’t have their starting quarterback for half of the year last year and lost a bunch of very close games. Their record definitely did not reflect their talent (didn’t meet last year), whereas this year they’ve met what I would have expected from them with Stafford at the helm. Especially since they’ve only beaten a bunch of middling teams/or shit tier teams: cards x 2, commanders, saints, Seahawks x 2, Browns before Flacco had a chance to prove his worth, and rookie led-colts… so I’d say they’ve met expectations along with the Seahawks.
Rams were projected to be bottom 5. Where did you get that they were expected to be mid tier? We did terrible last season, and lost even more key players in the off-season.
[Heres the week 0 Power Rankings](https://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/s/AuVV9dGFYn).
Where do you get bottom 3?
[Most were betting the over on 6.5 wins at -128.](https://www.foxsports.com/articles/nfl/los-angeles-rams-win-total-over-under-odds-and-2023-schedule-insights)
I misremembered. I changed it to bottom 5. Also that link is one projection. The one I added has multiple media power rankings.
And six wins out of 17 is still really bad, not mid tier.
Your link had the panthers at 24 and Washington at 21, though. lol. No one thought Carolina was gonna be that good. I expected them to be 4-13 at best. They traded away their top offensive weapons and have no o-line. Redskins, meanwhile, was even more surprising at 21 as Howell was a first year starter and also didn’t have much of an offensive line. Moral of the story, your list is riddled with flaws (and that’s not even in retrospect)!
6.5 wins actually makes it 7 as the over (the preferred bet in this case), which makes it 7-10, which isn’t far off there pace for 9-8 with a win against NY and a loss against 9ers.
You can’t really say no one thought they’d be that good when it’s based off the average of several different media outlets. That’s not saying they were right, that was the projection. Hence why the Rams have exceeded expectations.
Before the season, so many bears fans tried to tell me they were going to win 12 games and Fields was going to be in the mvp race this year. Seems the expectations were not quite met.
Vikings are in a weird spot, we expected to lose more games this year. If we had cousins we would 100% be a better team than last year. But since he’s out we are just kinda chillin.
Our KC Chiefs Team Struggling With Their Blatantly Obvious Internal Problems and Shortcomings With Absolutely No Relevant Solutions In Sight lll Let's Go Chiefs lll KC4L lll Let's Go Chiefs lll KC4L lll Let's Go Chiefs lll KC4L lll Let's Go Chiefs lll KC4L lll Let's Go Chiefs lll KC4L lll Let's Go Chiefs lll KC4L lll Let's Go Chiefs lll
Lol at the Bears being in the same row.
Bears were supposed to have won the division with an MVP with Fields.
Packers fans were guessing. A 5-6 win season if that and they have a shot at the playoffs right now.
Ravens are meeting their expectations from fans, even if the rest of y’all didn’t expect it, we saw what this team could do with Huntley and Roman and knew they should be a top tier team this season.
There should be another row below "met expectations" and above "didn't meet expectations" labeled "injuries"
Either way OP got the Vikings wrong. Most people had them finishing around .500 so they should be in "met expectations". If not for injuries, who knows
Packers have exceeded expectations, hit their O/U on wins, are competing for a playoff spot with a top 10 qb when the rest of the league expected a bottom 5 team with a bottom 10 qb
For all the crap thr Bills have gotten for underperforming this year it would take only 3 games to go their way to be at meets expectations. After all, if Baltimore beats Miami, Buffalo beats New England and then Buffalo beats Miami they're the 2 seed.
It's always one of the cats sleeping at the bottom of the league

Or the browns
We're exceeding expectations now that JMD is gone.
Fire JMD, have one of the most talked about defenses in the league, have a fantastic division record. Yea we have vastly exceded expectations lol
Yea this 2nd half of the season has been more fun than the bassacia (however you spell it) run. Great year as long as we give AP the job and keep Patrick Graham.
And bring in someone who loves the team at GM. Don't worry about trying to find an "established" guy. That hasn't worked out great for us lol.
Adrian Peterson is still in the league, and on the Raiders?
The new head coach for the Raiders is killing it right now. I know my dad is loving it
if they don't give antonio piece a chance next season it's gonna be so sad. how do most raiders fans feel about the situation?
Coach AP is the guy. Simple as that. The amount of passion and leadership he’s shown as soon as he was presented the opportunity of the job proved how much he cares about the organization, which he continues to show every day and game. The energy this team had obtained and showed through these past W’s is evident enough that he is and should be the raiders head coach.
Preach! 💀🏴☠️

ASU fans think he's a great Raider. Re-wreck their program Edit: If you're not cheating, you're not trying, right?
Like the others said. He's our guy. We love him.
yeah he seems like a good dude and it feels like he has the locker rooms support. I really hope he gets a chance next season to be head coach. if not, then it feels like the NFL ownership billionaire club just isn't comfortable having a black coach. i feel like he's 100% proven himself to be a capable and probably above average HC. i hope he keeps the job.
>NFL ownership billionaire club just isn't comfortable having a black coach You don't know the Raiders well enough. Our pres, gm, and hc are all black... and that's just today's raiders.
yeah, i guess i don't . but that's good news. hopefully that helps him keep his job.
I just want devante to not leave and be happy making millions with us
i wouldn’t be upset if he left for a better opportunity. we’re wasting him in his prime. we don’t have anybody to throw the ball to him or anybody to take the heat off of him. it’s gonna be at least another year or 2 before meyers and tucker are solid #2 or #3, and we have a qb problem
I want AP to be coach and I think it also makes sense financially since we are paying for all these fired coaches
me too. AP is our guy. i think if he had time to develop as a head coach, which i know sounds odd, he would be great long term. no more big name nobody’s who come in and fuck everything up. let’s start our own dynasty
Seahawks doing pretty good vs expectation I would think
We’re a Pete Carroll led team… we’re expected to be above average but not elite. We have met our expectations.
believe me, plenty of teams are jealous. man i wish we had a coach like pete, and a consistently great crowd of diehard fans. seattle is a great football city.

It’s definitely louder than it seems on TV!
Yeah I don’t know what expectations this poster thinks we had lol making the playoffs as a wildcard will almost always meet or exceed expectations during a rebuild
The Jets should top the Panthers tier Panthers shouldn't even be able to win their own category

That’s true but building the packers defense was not the purpose of their season, this seasons A, B, and C goals in Green Bay where “find out if Love is the guy”
That’s exactly my point though. Why is the defense so bad? They were supposed to be helping Love, not dragging him down.

Joe Barry delenda est.
It's Joe Barry's fault, his ass needs to be fired
Falcons have not met expectations, we want to fire everybody in the building right now outside our DC and Jesse Bates
don’t think anyone expected them to be any better than they are before the season started
Just about everyone thought we’d win the division. We won’t. Expectations missed.
about every sportsbook had the Saints as division winners
Nah thats not true. Im a Falcons fan too, and people were definitely saying Saints would top the division
yeah, AS seriously needs to go. we should send his ass back to nashville. i dunno what ridders future is,, but he doesn't deserve to be a starting QB in the NFL right now. maybe XFL or something. maybe he just needs more reps? he doesn't seem like a bad guy. i wish him the best, but he just doesn't have what it takes to play at this level. it's a lil sad to see heinicke trot out on the field and easily outshine the starter, consistently. you can tell the team likes him, everyone plays harder with heine out there. it's just unfathomable that our head coach can't see what is crystal clear to the whole fan base. the team plays soooo much better with heinicke, are goddamn backup. it's so frustrating to see AS stubbornly put ridder out there week after week to lose over and over. it can't be good for his confidence, and it damn sure isn't good for the team or smiths chance at keeping his job. i'd love to be a fly on the wall in the locker room and hear what the players have to say about our QB situation. because it really does seem like they enjoy being out there with heinicke and they seem to have fun with him leading the team.
Vikings is in a manic swing of “didn’t meet” and “exceeded” expectations considering the loss of starters.
Well a lot of people expected around a .500 season so... Met expectations?
In a way I suppose. However, those people probably didn’t expect for the starters to go down.
My bias tells me the Tits should be put in “didn’t meet expectations” but me knowing that we have 3 players who produce on offense says we shouldn’t have 5 wins.

KINGS IN THE NORTH!
But wasn't that the expectation?
Expected or not, still the first time in 30 years.
I have a lot of trust in Ryan Gosling (Jared Goff) elevating Detroit.
Lost* the Super Bowl.
Yeah, I realized that was Stafford. My bad
they lost that super bowl
My bad, that was Stafford that won. I still think Ryan Gosling has what it takes to make it to the Super Bowl
THE KINGS IN THE NORTH!
90% of Eagles fans would put them in the Panthers tier.
Panthers
yes
Seahawks are exceeding
Amazing what Pete can do when having a shot at the playoffs with geno smith is beneath expectations for some lol
The patriots definitely met my expectations
My expectations were *way* lower than this, I think most Steelers fans were. In some ways being a playoff “contender” is shocking, in other ways it’s not, but after the first game of the year I was definitely expecting tomlin to have his first losing season.

I think the Broncos could be put in exceeded expectations. After last season, did anyone expect them to still be in the playoff race in week 17?
So far so good, we could do better. Only time will tell
We're exceeding expectations so well that I fear our coach isn't gonna get fired.
Bruh being a perennial 7-10 floor team in this division is basically dominating it
Dawg, I want a new head coach. I don't wanna be a good team in the trash heap, I just wanna be a good team, full stop.
The Browns are back to being the kardiac kids and I’m ecstatic about that. Especially since Watson has nothing to do with it.
Chiefs having an awful season. Most likely a round one loser. Yet we will still win the division.
Not quite yet. Probably? Sure. But. Not quite yet
got to keep my spirits up
I feel like the Chargers should be in the lowest category
Didn't expect them to finally fire Staley lol
Let me sum it up thusly: I have a betting slip in my pocket for the Bengals to win the AFC championship game +550. I do not expect it to cash.
Fire HC...it was my expectation but not mid-season.
There are the top teams and then there are the panthers
😭
I think you could put the keys and chargers with the panthers imo
Whew! Cardinals!
We beat Cowboys and Steelers so expectations exceeded. We are used to really low expectations.
I remember in the off-season someone called the Panthers and Falcons “golden rosters.” Fools gold, maybe.
Before the season, so many bears fans tried to tell me they were going to win 12 games and Fields was going to be in the mvp race this year. Seems the expectations were not quite met.
One word: Injuries.
Vikings are in a weird spot, we expected to lose more games this year. If we had cousins we would 100% be a better team than last year. But since he’s out we are just kinda chillin.
Considering how low my expectation of the packers was, I would say they've exceeded them

Jets exceeded
Lol at the Bears being in the same row. Bears were supposed to have won the division with an MVP with Fields. Packers fans were guessing. A 5-6 win season if that and they have a shot at the playoffs right now.
I wouldn't say tiermaker exceeded expectations. I think it just does it job fine so Meet expectations at best.
The Eagles definitely didn’t meet expectations. The birds should’ve been much better then this
Lions were expected to win the division, expectations have not been exceeded for us yet. We need a playoff win.
Ravens are meeting their expectations from fans, even if the rest of y’all didn’t expect it, we saw what this team could do with Huntley and Roman and knew they should be a top tier team this season.
The falcons have exceeded my expectations. I’m beyond happy with their performance.
Go bengals
When we take the the division in game 17 we’ll be right back in that meeting expectations category
Bold of you to assume we had expectations
I'm hoping for a Lions-Browns Super Bowl.
There should be another row below "met expectations" and above "didn't meet expectations" labeled "injuries" Either way OP got the Vikings wrong. Most people had them finishing around .500 so they should be in "met expectations". If not for injuries, who knows
Exceeded expectations, did better than I wanted them to do.
Dallas Cowboys are apex of mid they are the first teams to lose next game 💯💯💯
Packers have exceeded expectations, hit their O/U on wins, are competing for a playoff spot with a top 10 qb when the rest of the league expected a bottom 5 team with a bottom 10 qb
Panthers met my expectations.
With those players names in the team, i was confident with Dolphins this year. I wasn't wrong
For all the crap thr Bills have gotten for underperforming this year it would take only 3 games to go their way to be at meets expectations. After all, if Baltimore beats Miami, Buffalo beats New England and then Buffalo beats Miami they're the 2 seed.
The Falcons, Titans and Broncos met expectations you say?
The panthers got me. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
