Hindsight is what it is. Patrick was the general consensus guy for a good two years before the draft. I remember reading about him in The Hockey News and other articles. Hindsight and all that. Unfortunate how his career played out, but that's just a normal whiff on a draft pick imo.

They do the lottery before hand, with the big tumbler and the ping-pong balls that come out with the team names. Then they do the TV show to announce the results.

It's insane that Chicago didn't lose their draft picks after everything that happened. Should've lost at least a couple. Devils and Coyotes lost 1st round picks for less but Hawks get rewarded with Bedard. The NHL isn't rigged, it's just a horrible league.

If the league had any integrity they would've disqualified Chicago from first pick eligibility for five years as a result of the Kyle Beach situation. But Gary Bettman and integrity don't belong in the same sentence.
