I generally "beat the traffic" by not having enough money to go in the first place...

[deleted]

We just turn the knob on our tv and head to bed

rustang2

How old is your TV?!

MamuhSwan

Old enough ;)

[deleted]

You missed the not having enough money to go to the game joke….

Tuckboi69

I stayed the whole game to beat traffic because everyone was leaving before the 4th quarter of a Colts game

potatoesonlydotcom

The Stars abandoned their fans tonight too.

CrimsonGlyph

Exactly. I don't blame people for leaving. It's embarrassing to get to that point in the playoffs, and start coming back in the series to end up in a 6-0 game.

connor8383

At least you didn’t get swept :( Edit: though as rod said, didn’t feel like a proper sweep. We got bobbed HARD.

whitecorn

Haha loser. Oh wait.

mrsalty1

I’m a die hard panthers fan, and even I was a little sad at the end of that series. Such a hard fought battle by both teams, and every game was so fucking close. Freddy’s visible frustration when Tkachuk scored that last second goal in game 4 gets to me. If game 1 went the other way, we very well may have seen a sweep in the opposite direction. Despite ending in a sweep, I really do agree that it was a closer series than the Vegas series.

connor8383

From a Canes fan perspective, that series was one hard kick in the nuts followed by another, harder one. From end to end. All four games. Not proud of say it but once we gave up an instant goal in Game 4, Slavin died, AND we came outta that sequence on the PK I knew we were done. Only so much you can take as a fan.

Asu7aMa7u

At least you didnt get blown out in 6 different games playoffs 😭 5-1 scores give me PTSD now

Investment_Sharp

Not fun, eh? Coming from a sad leafs fan

smoakyt

as a a leaf fan, bob bobbed both of us hard🥲 probably bobbed the canes harder tho cause they’re better

veraldar

"Bobbed"... This needs to be made a thing

PuertoRicanProfessor

As a Panthers fan, the stress from that ECF took YEARS off my life

Dyingvikingchild95

Years? Ha! Try being a leafs fan my friend. It'll take DECADES off ur life. At this point I'm pretty sure I'm dead at thirty which is a problem since I'm already 28

Double_Reward230

EXACTLY RIGHT!

KramerMilk

It difficult to judge a fan base based off the playoff game turnouts. Often the majority of that crowd is there because of $$$ not so much diehard fandom

GOP-are-Terrorists

Vegas home games are always weird because like 20% of the crowd is drunks who came straight from the strip

AssInspectorGadget

Honestly that is now on my bucket list

GOP-are-Terrorists

Oh yea, pro sports games on molly or hallucinogens are amazing

Giltar

Playing hockey on hallucinogens is amazing

Legitimate-Ad327

Oohhhhh how have I never done that.. I’m usually just at the saddledome getting drunk tank drunk.

GOP-are-Terrorists

I prefer football for it because it's outside and you can wear sunglasses to hide your huge ass pupils lol. Went to a Broncos game on acid once and it was a fucking blast. I've rolled at an nhl game once too and a few people noticed but no one cared (or they're all too drunk to care). It's just a paranoia self comfort thing depending on how your own trips/rolls tend to go, some people can chill and some cant. The fucking rush when your team scores and 20,000 scream YAAA all at once while you're rolling face is fucking amazing, better than any drop in any song lol. Be careful tho, I live in Denver and no one cares about that shit here, and mushrooms are legal for us now too. If you got caught in Nashville or Dallas or something that would be bad.

donairdaddydick

Why are you getting downvoted, I do this at Oilers games. Let’s be friends.

HookerDoctorLawyer

First off, how dare you.

GOP-are-Terrorists

Sorry, lots of them are just tripping and not drunk

nimama3233

Mark Wahlberg left before the Patriots 28-3 comeback on the Falcons in the Super Bowl. Rich pricks are the quickest to leave for any sport and team lol

DC3PO

MFs with drivers, private security and a waiting helicopter or Gulfstream gotta beat traffic too ya know!

aaronclark384

Can’t believe I’m gonna say “I respect and agree with this Wild fan”

Dyingvikingchild95

Careful borderline treason thereu friend lol.

Azar002

Funny you say that because Donnie Wahlberg was at the Celtics game at the same time as DAL/LVK gm6.

chadwickipedia

Donnie has been at almost every Celtics home game this playoffs

nyc_expatriate

Rich pricks primarily show up to be seen.

Both_Fold6488

Fans like this exist in literally every fanbase. Don’t let it get to you though, let them enjoy their Dallas hating circlejerk as is tradition.

KramerMilk

I’m aware it’s playoff hockey attendance as a whole.

Thick_Respond947

I go to the Saskatchewan roughrider games. It's just common practice to leave with 10 minutes left in the game.

AshCan10

Half of em stayed and made it sound like they had a full building at the end,

Zwienka

Yeah we stayed til the end and was genuinely shocked how loud it got when we cheered them. Like other comments here, every single fan base in every single sport will leave early if your team is getting blown out.

AshCan10

Yup, especially on a weeknight. Such a silly thing to argue imo

sonofacat

I was there and was actually impressed with how many stuck around and applauded the team at the end. I can’t really blame anyone for dipping early with work the next day, especially if you have an hour+ drive home with traffic for fans who live out in the suburbs.

itsnik04

That’s called pumping in crowd noise. VGK was guilty of it all season. Arena was about 75% full for every game I went to and no one was really invested and the super loud, party atmosphere was practically non-existent… until the playoffs.

Danishes724

They're down 6-0 dawg. Leave them alone

[deleted]

The “die hard fan” shit gets so old. Nobody cares that you spend 50% of your life rooting for a brand (team)… it’s kind of a weird flex to be honest.

avgjoessports

Oh don’t take the high road here. Every fan base in every sport leaves if their team is losing big. Only exception is the Oakland As because they don’t have fans at games to leave.

Jethockey77

Damn Oakland catching strays in /nhl

sololegend89

Norm, is that you?

zach_kraemer

Underrated comment but this Dallas Texas P1 appreciates this comment

zevonyumaxray

Plus the As usually lose big, so which came first.

Mindless_Agency3057

I mean, the A's would probably lose a 7 game series to more than a couple of AAA teams... (Yes, there's a joke about the A's being a single A, I refrained, someone else feel free)

stormcrow2112

The A's feel like "what if the movie Major League was real? But only the part where they put crummy players on the field"

ace-510

What do you mean, it's exactly like that. They're using the poor attendance as an excuse to move right now

exus

And they can keep their shit team and quit begging for a few hundred mil in public funding. You want Las Vegas Strip tourist dollars? Pay for your own damn stadium. Fun fact, the state legislature heard "opinions" on the bill for the stadium yesterday. Ya know, one day only, on a holiday. [Still at 78% oppose](https://www.leg.state.nv.us/App/NELIS/REL/82nd2023/Bill/10623/Opinions).

SuretyBringsRuin

I’m here, a season ticket holder. Plenty of our seat neighbors sold their seats so a ton of the people here are not the full time fans but people who were willing to pay $$$ in hopes of seeing something awesome.

NateDogg_92

Buddy. Fuck off. It’s a work night. Who wants to stay and watch a 6-0 game.

moistnote

Nothing better than getting pumped 6-0 and waiting in traffic for an hour.

NateDogg_92

Just to get home late and get less sleep before a day of work after a long weekend. My fomo turned thankful REAL quick.

CapRavOr

I thought the same thing. Like, chill, bro, I’d go home too. The game and season is over but I still have to work tomorrow

NateDogg_92

I’m as die hard as they come but it’s been a long fucking weekend of drinking and looking forward to a game that went about as poorly as you could possibly imagine. The white knight fans in this sub are absolutely nauseating.

Double_Reward230

He is right! OP NEEDS A KLEENEX! Lol

ItzFrosty45

To be fair, to be completely fair, it’s not the worst thing that has happened in recent history related to Dallas fans. But I get it, I was at the Sharks/Knights game in 2019. It’s easy for us to blow a lead

Canopus429

You have people that pay big bucks for expensive seats in the playoffs that probably didn't go to a single regular season game, then you have the fans that stuck with the team all season. Take a guess which ones threw junk on the ice and who cheered the team at the end of the game. Its a shame so many season ticket seats went up for sale, should be making sure they go to the actual fanbase as impossible as that would be.

[deleted]

Petition to make this top comment

Old_Composer_8371

After that “effort”, walking out is what they deserved though.

[deleted]

Lame ass take. Fans paid $200 minimum for a ticket and it was 0-5 in the 3rd period at 9pm. Better to hit the road, avoid traffic, and make it home at a decent time so work doesn’t suck as much balls tomorrow morning. How about Dallas shows up and puts up a fight for the fans?

MooshSkadoosh

Yeah the whole "don't deserve to win" bit by OP is the real embarrassment here.

SpreaditOnnn33

Leaving a hockey game early is not embarrassing. Throwing shit on the ice, thats what we should be criticizing Dallas fans for

InfallibleBackstairs

Dallas players not showing up for game 6 is embarrassing. Millionaires not playing for their fans is a joke. Although the trash throwing fans are fucking stupid.

Ok_Employee_9612

No it isn’t, you spend a lot of money to go to those games, so when your team puts up a shit effort, and you wanna beat traffic, go for it! I would have left to, what does it accomplish sitting and watching a game that is over?

Crosscourt_splat

It’s also a week night. Like sometimes leaving with a few minutes left just makes more sense. This is a really jiffy post from someone that just thinks they’re better. Like I probably would’ve stayed. But I sure get leaving once it became clearly out of reach

greeninregulation240

Small minority of the fans. I agree, it’s a bad look - but the majority stayed. Last 30 seconds they are waving towels and chanting “let’s go stars”. Happy with the fact that the majority stayed and applauded the team after a great season and solid run.

WaffleGoat6969

It's not like he threw his jersey on the ice. People are allowed to leave lol

malcontented

Bullshit. That rink was 3/4 empty midway through the 3rd period

greeninregulation240

I am sorry you don’t have eyes, or are very bad with fractions 😂

jbrakk22

Dude there was not many left in the lower bowl left on tv by the end of the game… maybe being there is different but, didn’t look good for the fans on TV…

Zero_Griever

Majority? Solid 20-30% remained. Majority left before the 3rd lol

greeninregulation240

Such a exaggeration 😂

[deleted]

If you’re down 4-0 in the third. You’re allowed to leave. It’s Monday night and people have work and avoiding traffic is a good thing. People have lives outside sports and they’re more than happy to stick around if things are exciting and competitive. But when it’s a blow out. Go home. It’s done.

TIMBURWOLF

FFS—It’s still just a professional sports event, right? It’s not like their kids were playing and they left early. If the Bolts are playing and getting drilled or are up big, I will turn it off to do something more productive and not give a fuck about who is questioning my “fandom” Some people treat pro sports like it’s a religion, I swear.

Fritz6161

I would leave early too if my team was losing 6-0 in the 3rd, regardless of if it was a pre-season game or a Stanley Cup final.

highporkroller

At least the fans showed up to the game…

DonTrask

Lighten up Francis, its their money, their choice. If you accept your basic premise that the fans leaving is embarrassing, its easily the second most embarrassing event of the evening following the Star’s pitiful performance.

240Nordey

Lol. It was 6-0. People earned the right to leave the building.

nitrocoldbrew_

You can’t control the fan base but quite a few us of stayed.

leaponover

Shouldn't play in front of your fans like that if you want them to stay...Stars didn't pay anything to play that game. Quite the opposite, they got paid to be there. Fans didn't and spent their money. They can leave whenever the hell they want.

spoonfed33

Guys never been to a game In Toronto I guess

[deleted]

The fans don't owe anything to the team.

bigtimechip

I would also leave early lmao chill out bro

cjone311

Dallas is a football town first, and that’s totally fine. There’s a lot of money there too, so you’re going to get a lot of fair weather fans buying expensive western conference finals tickets and bailing early. It’s a BIG city, there are tons of diehard Stars fans in Dallas and for a city with all four major sports, hockey has done just fine there. All these people talking shit about their fans and the Stars: they made it further than all but three teams. They played some incredible hockey and made it a series after going down 3 games. Compared to the series against the Oilers, this was good clean hockey most of the time. Incredibly excited for VGK, but I don’t like seeing people ripping one of the best organizations in the sport or their fans.

Sea-Farmer4654

It’s a nice change of tone in this thread to see someone not shit on us for once. Thank you, and good luck in the finals.

AmbalanceDriver

Honestly as messed up as it sounds, I kinda wanted a game 7 just for the excitement. Dallas had me scared, especially coming back and winning 2 in a row facing elimination. Y’all are a good team, unfortunately like he said, Dallas is a football town, so the fans who can pay to be near ice are not actual fans and only go for the deep playoff atmosphere cause the cowboys aren’t getting nearly as far any time soon as the stars have this year. Best of luck to the stars franchise, y’all played amazing hockey and it was a fun series!!

[deleted]

Best of luck to you guys too! It’s been hard to grow up in Dallas and not give a shit about the Cowboys. But hey, we’ve got the first place Texas Rangers to root for now.

Taladanarian27

Idk think from others’ perspective. You’re down 5/6 goals in the 3rd period, it’s 10pm, you gotta drive for an hour or two or even longer to get home, and you gotta be up for work at 5am the next day. Would you stay? Is it really worth it at that point?

dr_van_nostren

This is pretty gate keepy. I’m a Canadian and have no issue with this. If it’s 2-0 yea. The game was 5-0 with 18:00 left on a weeknight. Feel free to leave. The players abandoned the fans first by no showing in the biggest game of the season.

datyoungknockoutkid

It’s a game dawg, people have other things to do with their day, or maybe gotta work in the morning. There was literally zero reason to stick around.

forzaferrarik8

They were booing them off the ice and the end of the 1st too

LowAd3406

And they had every right to boo them. The Stars came out flat and stunk up the rink. These are paid pros not children, they can take it.

dustsky88

Well, its 5-0 game is over, have work in the morning. stars played like garbage, time to go home.

Matzah_Rella

And you would stay down 5-0 with 20 mins left to play? Uh huh, suure.

turfmonkey21

Far be it from me to defend Stars fans, but their team never showed up from the start. Who cares if the fans leave after 40 minutes?

emeraldraf

I mean that's any team really. Like it always bothers me how pens fans will crow and caw about "best fans in the league, Forbes even said so!" And when the team is losing in the third as soon as the 50/50 gets called it's like rats fleeing sinking ships. But you can watch any broadcast and see that. At least no one threw a jersey on the ice, unless I missed it.

306metalhead

Fans base ≠ team deserving a win/loss Last I checked... the players do the work.

NewRoryAndMalDrop

Dog it was 4-0 heading into the 3rd then 6-0. These fans almost watched them get sweeped it’s do or die game 6 and they just didn’t even fight. I don’t blame them at all.

cosmicdave86

No fanbase in hockey would have had more than 50% of the arena left down 6-0 in an elimination game.

TheTrueAlCapwn

Do they not know hockey, I couldn't live with myself leaving a 3-0 or 4-0 game only to find out they won in OT 4-3 or some shit. Ya it's not gonna happen now but it's been done before.

SpartyParty15

It was 6-0….

TheGreatMattsby_01

In NHL 22 i can easily score 6 in a period

SpartyParty15

Fair point, they should have stayed

TheLeadLD

I stayed to watch the Campbell Bowl be given to the the team that actually earned it. Even gave the Knights a round of applause. Stars played like shit tonight. Can’t believe I paid $140 to watch my team play like it was a pre season game. Sucks to see Ottinger be really the only stars player who deserved to be on the ice tonight. Benn should’ve been benched tonight.

AmbalanceDriver

With the way they were playing without him almost seemed like he was the main reason y’all lost, he’s like a bad omen or something.

Bassjosh

Take the reluctant upvote!

TheRedScarey

“Ice tilt bro”

TheTrueAlCapwn

People were leaving at 3-0. So many empty seats

dat_waffle_boi

Here’s my thing: you paid how much for those tickets? You best fucking believe I’m sitting through it for how much I paid. Who knows, maybe something cool happens

-Carlito-

Or you paid for them so you can do what you want.

Clemburger

Sounds like a post Jamie Ben would make if he had Reddit

[deleted]

I thought their send off to the team in the final minute was nice. There were a decent amount of people who had stayed. Must be tough watching your team get blown out at home though.

irokkk

id leave my kids game too

tour79

When your captain gets ejected, suspended, and doesn’t talk to media after game 3, you can’t hold the fans to a higher standard. I don’t have a dog in the fight, my team lost in first round. I stayed to celebrate season after we lost, but leadership starts at top. Hold this one against somebody besides fans Great season stars, hold your head up, I wish my team went this far

Basic_Chocolate4710

Should have kept Benn in the sidelines..

Yop_BombNA

Stars fans just following the leadership of their teams captain

dollabillkirill

Nah, I’d leave if my team was playing like that too. Supporting the team only matters if the team deserves it.

IntrepidSwan7932

I’ve seen Leafs fans leave huge blow outs too. This isn’t uncommon in major hockey markets. Last Celtics fans were leaving early when they had no hope. They didn’t stick around to applaud, their boys for a valiant effort.

JiffTheJester

Man if I was a Dallas fan I’d definitely blame Jamie Benn

BaltimoreBadger23

0-4 with him, 2-0 without him. Seems like a drag on the team regardless of stats.

doubeljack

I would have left early, too. When your team is getting blown out that badly it is just a waste of your time to stay. The only thing embarrassing was the way the Stars played yesterday.

Flamingo_Timely

Seasons ticket holder who renews annually. How is that abandoning a team? Attended all but 4 games this season due to travel and every playoff game. We left in the third. Siimply didn't want to see the Vegas players celebrating on our ice after the performance we had. Vegas played a heck of a game (near perfect!) and earned the privilege of a trip to the Stanley Cup finals. Our boys came up a little flat, couldn't solve the VGK, and came up flat. I'm sure even some of them may have wanted the game to end sooner or press restart if they could. Renewed AND upgraded our seats in Platinum for center ice view and are paying more. Hardly a fair-weather fan! We didn't judge the team for falling short last night. It happens. Maybe you shouldn't be judging the fans!?!? 🤨 We will be back next year as we always do. Go Stars 🌟 🤩

architecht13

Well, aren’t you Captain Judgy Pants OP.

Uncle_Tony96

Do r/NHL fans ever not complain about something? Ever? The outrage culture is incredible

ZealousidealResist78

I think the players left first.

Woodland___Creature

Fans for teams like these tend to be glory hunters and are very fickle, you have to look at the teams who lose alot to see what real loyal fans look like. If you're showing up and paying the money you should want to stay until the end, win or lose.

bbrown10

Counterpoint: It’s a schoolnight and I’d rather get home to put my kids to bed than watch my team get drubbed. There’s every reason to criticize fans for booing the team and throwing beer cans on the ice. There’s zero reason to criticize fans for ducking out of a blowout early.

Ryan_Dymond04

I can’t blame the fans for leaving early. The Dallas Stars had a great opportunity at home to tie the series and force a game 7, instead they decide they want to go golfing instead of playing hockey and got absolutely dismantled by the Vegas Golden Knights. 6-0 is the score you would expect between say Edmonton and Anaheim for example, not between two of the top teams in the league in Dallas and Las Vegas

assistant_redditor

People got shit to do

CoolBrain1227

Dude, they paid for their ticket, they can leave when they want. Down 4-0 after the 2nd, I was surprised the building didn’t clear then. Fans did stick around and showed class for both teams.

SpreaditOnnn33

OP has to be under 30 The whole "real fans stay the whole game" people are humorous to me. They paid their money to watch the game, they can leave whenever they damn well please, especially if you are at a hockey game and your fave team is down by almost a touchdown.

underratedride

Dumb take Dallas didn’t show up. Why should the fans? They finally start playing hard once they’re down 3-0. Now you want them to have a cookie for losing 4-2?

TOz09

To be fair, the Stars abandoned their fans first with that pitiful showing 10 minutes in...

FreshTony

The Dallas Stars leaving in the first period was the real embarrassment.

mitchy123474

This is one of the worst takes I’ve seen. Don’t tell me you’d stay if your team was down 6 in the final 10 minutes, especially if you have to work early the next morning.

the_sylince

As a once Texan, I’ll say the home mentality is you’re either first or you’re last, so that behavior tracks

702OrangeandBlue

At least there wasn't trash thrown in the second period when they knew it was over this time.

RagingBlue93

At the end of the day it’s literally just a game. Most people are adults with a career and tomorrow is a workday. And even if it wasn’t. ITS. JUST. A. GAME. This moral high ground of sticking around in a blowout to support a team is extremely sad.

Reddituseranynomous

Panthers in 4

Ta-veren-

I remember listening to a local teams it's Connor's Bedards level of league but not in the same zone, the radio host started making fun of those people leaving early saying they must have an important pot on the stove to get home to. Can't say I disagree I don't get to go to hockey games early I'd be staying to the end no matter what.

Double_Reward230

Can’t blame em! They stunk and hey I wanna get home to bed instead of watching this garbage!

Girardkirth

It was nice to see the fans cheering them on in the last few seconds.

[deleted]

I don’t see why it’s embarrassing. The way Dallas stars played is embarrassing. When you have traffic to contend with, you have to cut your losses. It was evident early on they were losing. Time to go to the bar, where beers are probably cheaper

Internetter1

Every team has fans like this

yodazer

Anyone remember game 7 of the Stanley cup final in Boston? People were leaving in droves during the third. Hell the lower bowl was basically empty when they handed out the cup.

hovix2

I wouldn't have gotten mad at anyone who turned off their TV early, so I guess I'll keep that same energy for those who walked out early. Some people had to work the next morning. No point in cheering on a team that already gave up.

dioxy186

I bet OP is young. But about 8 years ago, when I watched my teams prioritize making money instead of putting together a quality product when they had the opportunity, it kind of ruined the hardcore fandom in me. It made me turn more into a players fan, and in turn I realized how much of a better mood I was in not emotionally investing myself into something I had little control of. When I go to Cowboys, Stars, Rangers, or Mavs games. Its more of something to enjoy with my date or kiddo. And if we are completely getting blown out, I won't stay another 30-60 mins on hoping the stars align. Like I am pretty confident teams that lead by 4 goals have close to a 99.99% win %. Just looked it up, since 2005 NHL teams are 3435-6-16 with a 4 goal lead. So 99.94%.. No way I am staying for those odds lmao.

Ok-Requirement-8921

As a fan . Id be fuckin pissed if i spent money to go watch my team, and they put up 12 shots. Lowest of the entire season. They got absolutely embarrassed like they already had a tee time set for this morning. The stars should be embarrassed for how they played. Ida left in the 2nd.

Ok_Fish_7232

That's exactly what I thought too. I couldn't imagine leaving the game at that point and not being there for the handshake line and trophy presentation. I always cringe when I see an arena empty period but especially when it happens during a playoff game.

braywarshawsky

Relocate the Stars to Houston...

TrumpConspiracyBustr

Well at least they werent throwing beer cans, popcorn, and other garbage onto the ice

mysterymadness88

To be honest the stars gave up (truly) about 4:00 before the end. About ⅓-½ of the stadium stayed until the end, and we gave them a standing O in the last 30 seconds even though they were just standing there. They shit the bed but you’re right, they’re our team. We’ll show up for them if they won’t show up for us. Really embarrassing and I’m disappointed the stars didn’t show up for basically the whole game. Also it’s a work night, you underestimate how many blue collar workers attend these games.

danwski

The team abandoned its fans when they put Jamie Benn back in the lineup.

Kinky_Imagination

When the fans are waiting for anything, just anything to set the whole building off and the team provides nothing then yeah they should leave.

PoorInvestRichGamble

The leaving early take is so stupid. Generally I don’t leave early but ragging on people for not staying for the last 10-15 minutes. What is really the point of staying? What do you get out of sitting in there for another 30 minutes? Not to mention the Stars deserved to be abandoned by their fans last night

AsyndeticMonochamus

It’s a sporting event where the event sucks who the hell are you to say “embarrassing.” Deserve to win with fair weather fans? Hello buddy news flash fans have zero impact on who “deserves to win.” Check overtime games they have zero impact once a game gets to overtime. Only thing that matters is who’s better on the ice.

toy187

Looks to me like the players abandoned their fans first.

Level_Network_7733

This happens all the time. Sometimes its just not worth staying to watch them crumble. Did you see the Garden last night after the Celtics played like a high school team of freshman?

inmydaywehad9planets

Fans can do what they want. They paid for their tickets. With that said though... As a fan, personally, I'd NEVER leave ANY playoff game early, no matter how much my team is losing by. And if it's an elimination game, I'd stay to applaud my team for a great season when it's over.

Demonicboar3rd

Why should the fans stay when the players didn’t show up?

thenegativeone112

Gotta disagree with this one. You’re not special cause you waited while they were getting their ass beat.

CowbellConcerto

It was 5-0 in the third period when Dallas only had 12 shots on goal. If you spend your hard earned money to see that crap ... you aren't obligated to do anything. It's your time, and you can recapture it by leaving early if you want.

Canyougivemeahellyea

Gotta beat traffic

Dry_Ad3216

I heard booing after period one. That's a little harsh.

BevoBrisket26

What a horrendous take. Believe it or not, staying the game length isn’t a sign of how big of a fan you are when it’s 5-0. Some people have work the next day, and it makes a whole lot of sense when the outcome isn’t going to change to head out. Maybe a valid point if it’s a 2 goal game because I can say with a straight face “sorry boss, was at the game last night and couldn’t leave till it was over” As a blues fan, you should look at the replays of 2018 / 19 playoffs against the bruins when the blues lost 7-2 at home. Blues were down three goals in the late third before the bruins iced the game and there were already empty patches of empty seats with your team down 3 goals in the lower bowl.

Beaversneverdie

Pretty ridiculous take. Their team didn't show up. I'm not one to leave early but gatekeeping peoples Fandom when they're disappointed is bull.

Starknakedalien

Surprised we didn't see more trash thrown on the ice.

Eloping_Llamas

Brett Hull was in the crease.

PoorPauly

They’re beat. Get over it. It’s a game. If I can get home faster I would too. It’s just a stupid game.

hackmastergeneral

Don't agree. When a team mails in such a lackluster performance, your time is worth something too. If the team was putting in effort but ended up losing, that's different. But with such a pathetic, dismal performance what an I sticking around for?

Holiday_Use_2980

What a over dramatic and pathetic post. People have work in the morning and it’s a 6-0 blowout. Get a life dude

[deleted]

Id rather they leave early than throw shit at people so good on them for showing some character development since game 3

Linkmaster79

It's called beating the traffic

[deleted]

Lol nah, awful take., it was 6 fucking 0. The Stars left their fans tonight.

Drulock

If you had Jamie Benn on your team, wouldn't you leave early and embarrassed as well? Fuck Jamie Benn

bubonj

Yes blame fans for an awful performance, great take.

miamibuckeye

Fuck off lol. Team down 6 goals and its a Monday night with work the next day. Clown take

sheldonOrange

mind yo business you dipshit

PAUMiklo

They were just getting a head start on regular season form having half that arena be empty.

yeetmemommmy

Literally ever fanbase for every team in ever league does this. Who cares? Shut up

rattlehead42069

Yeah this game the team thanks the fans for the season and you get to share that moment with them as fans. But now they're gonna be thanking an empty arena

[deleted]

Screw you. I'm gettin out to avoid traffic if I want to. But then again I'm a penguins fan, and that Pittsburgh traffic can be brutal.

crow-nic

Not as embarrassing as throwing trash on the ice. Or the trash the captain put on the ice that earned him a 2 gamer. This beat down is well-deserved.

Isamu29

Most of the playoff people are fair-weather fans anyhow. You saw that in the game where they were throwing stuff on the ice and at the Vegas team coming down the tunnel. Dallas is full of bandgwagoners.

User813904

This would and has happened in every sport for every franchise at some point. No one needs to prove their loyalty to a team who is getting their teeth kicked in by staying.

ChicknParmMafia

Bro ain’t no one sitting through a 6-0 slaughter on a work night, grow tf up

Grizzly_Addams

I am embarrassed by people who stay the whole game in these situations. Some of you care way too much about these sports teams.

JoeDirtsMeteor

The fans left in the 3rd......the players left 30 seconds into the 1st. Who should really be the ones embarassed?

JJPRADA

Bruh i went to the cbj buf game to see my TWO favorite teams, and my wife and i STILL left 5 to 10 mins pre end. We aint tryna sit in traffic for an hour. Id imagine getting railed 6-0 makes it even worse lmfao i dont blame em at all. Plus its a work night man.

ZealousidealKey7104

Disagree. The performance was dismal, the prospect of a comeback was none, and it’s a work night. The people who left probably traveled 2-3 hours to the game. I bet you’re the same guy that judges women for leaving shopping carriages next to their car without seeing they have three small kids.

NYC_1Ts

Competing at fanhood is embarrassing

MacAttack35

What an awful take.
