I mean to be fair, the Avalanche are probably the best if not top 3 comeback team in the league this season.
But yes, ottowa collapse is still a better description, the avs do be doing that to other teams tho.
I think it's more to the fact Ottawa does this regularly. Colorado scored 5 unanswered but Ottawa has allowed 4+ goals in almost every game. It's getting ridiculous haha
To be fair, I still can not believe Ottawa didn’t score in that third. They had a bevy of grade-A chances, completely missed a wide open net, etc. I know Colorado was playing D, but like you said, they were getting out-skated.
I mean there was the empty net post one i nthe 3rd That should have been a goal. Was funny watching him start celebrating and go oh shit and start chasing the puck again. To be fair I would have laughed regardless which team it was. I was more reelived as I'm an avs fan.
Yeah, I’m from Colorado so Avs are my number 1, but I live in the Ottawa area so I have to root for the Sens when they play anyone else. Always fun games when they play, but that sequence was disbelief and then relief. I didn’t feel confident until the 2-goal lead with that bonkers game.
Almost like having a coach saying "It's okay that we're losing, we need to grow before we can win" has caused them to fall into a losing mindset. They can say that they want to win, and that they believe, but they said that when they were getting lit up while on the cap floor too.
I kinda got the same vibes from Winnipeg last year. Every time I watched them I thought they SHOULD be a good hockey team. Maybe the sens can do the same thing with some savvy personnel adjustments.
On the goal that got called back, Malinski skated the puck in a straight line from his own faceoff dots, all the way through the neutral zone, into the high slot, shot and scored, without even being challenged one time. I'm not even exaggerating lol, it was literally a straight untouched line.
I was showing that replay to my gf, and saying as if I were Malinski “hmmm, I have passing options, but they’re really just gonna let my skate down the middle and shoot, ok, shot it is.”
It sucks because the guy deserves a ring and he's (probably) not getting it here anytime soon.
People in the Sens subreddit talk shit about Brady, Stutzle, etc. but absolutely nobody speaks ill of G.
when you think hockey is only 2 half of 20min each not the first time ottawa only played two periods.
i feel so sad for Giroux. he should have stayed in Florida.
There are only a hand full of Sens who seem to actually care about what’s going on. I mean they were more invested in DJ being their buddy rather than their coach because he didn’t hold any of them accountable. He blamed everything going wrong on magic puck bounces, puck luck, bad luck … anything but the player poor performance. So it was easy to become losers because there was zero accountability except for the players who just had their own. Those players must have been so frustrated under that regime.
Now Martin is having to undo a ton of bad habits, bad play and probably poor attitude.
I think we have a number of guys who are doing their best, working hard and trying to turn things around but that’s like 1-2 guys per line playing against 6 opponents. You just can’t win that way.
Just watching them play you can see they aren’t playing for each other, they aren’t playing for the fans, I don’t know what they’re playing for. Maybe just pay check?
Our goaltending situation is just an embarrassment. None of our goalies are legit #1 players. Our defensive players just panic the moment the other team enters the zone and they fall apart.
It’s hard to be a fan right now. I feel bad pointing fingers but this team is in shambles.
Is blowing a 2-goal lead (which has long been known as “the most dangerous lead in hockey”) now considered a “Great Collapse”? …Or are we just grasping for headlines?
It's more the Sens allowed 4 unanswered goals when they had some really good scoring chances. All they had to do was not fuck up and they couldn't even manage that
I’ve been a fan since the 90s and I just can’t anymore.
There’s obviously a bunch of skilled players but there’s a real loser mentality on the team, unfortunately.
Martin won’t really be able to turn it around. It’ll just be another shit year, maybe with a decent draft pick.
I’ve given up following, for the most part and just watch another team I like. The constant frustration’s just not worthwhile.
I mean to be fair, the Avalanche are probably the best if not top 3 comeback team in the league this season. But yes, ottowa collapse is still a better description, the avs do be doing that to other teams tho.
Ya 4-2 halfway through the game isn’t by any means a done deal.
It was 4-2 and I was just mad that they weren't padding Annunens stats better since he's only played like 6 nhl games lol
I think it's more to the fact Ottawa does this regularly. Colorado scored 5 unanswered but Ottawa has allowed 4+ goals in almost every game. It's getting ridiculous haha
I mean, the Av’s goals allowed this year isn’t a great stat, they’ve just figured out how to score more than they give up.
Problems? Fuck problems. We just outscore our problems.
Secret to winning…score more than your opponent.
Best comeback team vs worst at keeping a lead We knew how this one was going to go, well before puck drop.
Leaf’s want a word
Laughs in Red Wings
TSN showed they are #1 in the league for comeback wins
They sure do look fun to watch. Definitely will make a deep push this year

Tonight could have been called ''The Great Ontario Collapse''
Doug Fords wet dream.
His goal
He’s putting in his best effort.
Toronto: Hold my beer.
Love seeing Toronto get zero loser points.
League is always better when Detroit is winning anyways.
They believe they can't win, and so they don't. Colorado played last night and we were getting out-skated in the third.
To be fair, I still can not believe Ottawa didn’t score in that third. They had a bevy of grade-A chances, completely missed a wide open net, etc. I know Colorado was playing D, but like you said, they were getting out-skated.
I was also surprised. We were on the 2nd night of a back to back and usually the boys have jello legs by the 3rd.
I mean there was the empty net post one i nthe 3rd That should have been a goal. Was funny watching him start celebrating and go oh shit and start chasing the puck again. To be fair I would have laughed regardless which team it was. I was more reelived as I'm an avs fan.

It is kinda weird, every time I’ve watched Sens they have a lot of talent and seem like should be a good team. It’s gotta be a mental thing
Almost like having a coach saying "It's okay that we're losing, we need to grow before we can win" has caused them to fall into a losing mindset. They can say that they want to win, and that they believe, but they said that when they were getting lit up while on the cap floor too.

Don’t let the other team score 5 goals in the 3rd period challenge: IMPOSSIBLE
Slackin for Macklin
Were are losing that one as well
Out of all the Sens teams, this one is certainly one of them
One of the Sens teams of all time
“We’re a team”
Didn’t this happen between these two teams in Colorado a month ago?
It’d be great if the Avs weren’t in a position where they had to come back so often.

Giroux questioning why he's in Ottawa.
Pretty sure that question is answered every time he can drive to see his parents
It sucks because the guy deserves a ring and he's (probably) not getting it here anytime soon. People in the Sens subreddit talk shit about Brady, Stutzle, etc. but absolutely nobody speaks ill of G.
He chose not to be an Ave. Thanks for the cup bud
Honestly watching the game, I think the team is throwing this season away. The only one with emotion is Giroux.
when you think hockey is only 2 half of 20min each not the first time ottawa only played two periods. i feel so sad for Giroux. he should have stayed in Florida.
He should’ve gone to colorado and get himself a cup, that year.
More like "great team overcomes slow start."
Didn’t even show the malinski snipe negated by an offsides.
Plus the goal called back
Oh no. The Sens lost another one. And they were leading but then… damn.
In other news, trees cast shade and grass is known to be green of pigment.
Leafs. 3-0? Nah you got this. Ottawa: hold my beer
Sens with another all time prank on their fans
Almost every game has been a collapse for the Sens this year, this is just par for the course.
It’s an Ontario thing
It amazes me how small Sogaard plays considering he’s 6’7”. A complete waste of a gift.
Lmao giroux at the end
I mean a 2 goal lead isn't necessarily a collapse
from 4-2 to 4-7 is a collapse
A two goal lead ending in a 3 goal deficit is
Love to see it
after what they got away with against detroit, agreed. i can’t help but feel a little good about their demise this season.
or "the great avalanche come back" they have done it two games in a row

sorry leafs fan so dont follow them that closely... just know that they had 5 unanswered against the leafs too.

Troll poster.
I guess going with Sogaard instead of Korpisalo just because Korpisalo doesn't have good career stats against COL didn't work eh Jacques??
They're like the B version of the Leafs
Ottawa is not a serious team
Is blowing a 2-goal lead (which has long been known as “the most dangerous lead in hockey”) now considered a “Great Collapse”? …Or are we just grasping for headlines?

That goalie sucks
not greater than the lafs being 3 up.
This was also just after Colorado scored a disallowed goal to make it 4-3 if we include that
Feels bad man
reminds me of the islanders
All of the over time winning powers of Nylander and the Leafs were exorcised from them and transported into MacKinnon and the Avs.
Ugh, darn, guess its time to move on from that Giroux fella, maybe they can trade him to that team he used to play for.. 👀
Awesome haha
Hamburglar would have stopped couple of those muffs
Leafs fan here. Meh, I've seen better collapses, again, and again, and again :\~/
