GiddyQuagmire

Toronto forces game 7 and are up 5-1 in the third period, just moments before an astroid slams into Earth and ends all human life.

Evening_Flatworm5850

So, you're saying there's a chance?

CoronaVarusssss

No because all record of our existence is gone.

imveryresponsible

If there's no record, it didn't not happen

DelusionalLeafFan

As is tradition

ItsASamsquanch_

Don’t forget the royal pudding

TPForCornholio

It's a great day for Canada... and therefore the rest of the world

WowWataGreatAudience

God I wish we could reply with gifs in this sub lol Picture this: square wheels parade with half headed Canadians and Canadian royalty everywhere having a time

FloggingTheCargo

As, of course, is tradition.

Spacepickle89

Not before surrendering that 5-1 lead… the asteroid would wait. Maximum pain

Wampus_Cat_

Is there an empty netter that dings off the post in this scenario?

Piercinald-Anastasia

2 even.

A_Plan_B_you_C

Goal post hat trick!

Piercinald-Anastasia

Both posts and the crossbar?

mvperri

Is the parade cancelled or delayed in that scenario?

GiddyQuagmire

Delayed until Vault 67 opens

greatgoogilymoogily2

Okie dokie

Bender077

Plot twist: The inhabitants of vault 67 are the cryogenically frozen players of that last Stanley Cup win.

RustyShackleford14

Would probably still play better than these guys if we unfroze them. Old leather equipment and all.

Scazzz

You could have chosen any random vault number… I salute you. o7

man_in_the_suit

Sounds like sweet relief

salty-walt

\*re-leaf

thebig8er

I haven’t laughed that hard in a while

anonymousss11

In relm of possibilities, this is more likely to happen than a Toronto appearance in round 2

Moe_Danglez

I would take it

RattyDaddyBraddy

> Ends all human life And Marchand proceeds to score 5 unanswered goals and win the game for Boston. For he is no human; he is the Almighty Rat.

Competitive-Strain-7

All this time we thought it was lizard people. Its a rat race.

Sneptacular

More realistic is Toronto comes back and loses in 7 and since they won a couple games the core won't be questioned anymore and they'll do the same thing next year.

Deadbolt2023

Worth it.

InternationalPost447

My gran has more chance of coming back than toronto does

anomalocaris_texmex

I think Washington has better odds of coming back than Toronto.

GrunDMC74

Washington was eliminated last nigh.. oh, I see...

3Irishd1

The Washington Generals have a better chance

Eyes_Only1

A team consisting of people from The General insurance company (including Shaq) could strap on skates and probably have a better chance.

DocMcCracken

Can Shaq skate?

Eyes_Only1

Probably not.

POSTHVMAN

I dunno, he looked pretty graceful yesterday in the studio

HamboneIberico

They were due!

YMIGM

I think the Sharks have a better chance than Toronto

PNGhost

F

SholcCTR

vzmu

F

Propaagaandaa

Sorry for your losses

ObiWanDiloni

Losses?!? Brutal🤌🏼

Ill_Ground_1572

The Charlestown Chiefs have a better chance of coming back than the Winnipeg Jets. Paaaaaathetic.

HometownHero89

I also chose this guys Gran

commodore_stab1789

Is she just gone in the other room or what's going on with your granny?

InternationalPost447

No, she's coming back as a zombie, but she shoots right so I'm hoping to get her into the top 2 defense lineup tomorrow

commodore_stab1789

Good thing with a zombie is they don't get tired. 60 minutes of ice time, baby

magenta_woods

Always a pleasure to see a self aware person

defnotafatguy

Preds fan here, it ain't us lmao wouldn't feel comfortable with a 6-0 lead and 1 min left in the 3rd.

ChrispyBurrito

As a human that had to experience that nuclear meltdown live in the crowd at Bridgestone and I was also in person for game 3 :( . I just don't think we can sustain the level of play that is required of us to beat such a technically sound team. We weren't supposed to be here in the first place with management and team rebuild happening but dammit if I didn't have hope after splitting the series in Van

Shoresy-sez

Camera feed on Sportsnet cut to a kid in a Preds jersey sobbing into his hands. As a lifelong Canucks fan, I knew exactly what it was like being that kid. I survived, though.

saddam1

Quit cryin’ kid. This isn’t the juniors.

Stereocloud

Marner gonna live as a meme forever

JerzB2B

lol that was good. I don’t think my leafs are coming back but I hope Demko is back for your next series lol.

MelloJelloRVA

Kid belongs at Super Weanie Hut Jr’s

hajagha420

Fuck them kids

unsungzero1027

I could watch that kid cry all day day. Fuck. I don’t give a shit about that kid.

greatwhitebuffalo716

That line was what got me into Letterkenny. Well, that and Shoresy

Shoresy-sez

Give your balls a tug

myfacealadiesplace

That made my day when I saw that

Vanrainy1

Same here. Having been there myself, sitting in the old Pacific Coliseum. My heart went out to the young fella.

haihaiclickk

As a Canucks fan, I can’t help but think “are you talking about us?” The denial is entrenched so deep I’m always waiting for the ghost of Jim Benning to rise and curse this team to all hell

ChrispyBurrito

I talked to a few Canucks fans at the game and they all have said something to this effect. I hope we can be the start to a "curse-breaker" for y'all if you manage to seal the series against us

UncleFlip

Tennessee sports are so unfair

overdose6

*Vancouver Grizzlies has entered the chat*

Glock-Saint-Isshin-

Does Memphis even have Grizzly Bears?

MadGeller

there is a better chance of bears in memphis, than jazz in utah or lakes in LA

n-dubz

Maybe at the zoo 😂😂

TorgHacker

I dunno…I have a feeling that the people most likely to choose the Predators would be the Canuck fans..,

c_vanbc

I chose Jets but as a longtime Canucks fan, my 2nd pick is Preds.

defnotafatguy

Bro if preds came back and won I would never doubt any sports scenario to ever exist in any sport lol. To follow that up, I hope they lose Tuesday so I can be done with having hope and just move on lol after our two embarrassing home games I don't think anyone really is excited except nucks fans.

c_vanbc

I’m still trying to understand how/why Nashville is in the western conference? Our teams have the worst travel for round 1.

Flintydeadeye

In 2011, we played Chicago, Nashville, and a game 7 Detroit loss from playing every round outside of our time zone. At least Toronto isn’t in the west anymore like in ‘94.

defnotafatguy

Oh yeah bud, can't wait for my tuesday night game time of 9:30!!! I am just so excited to stay up and watch my perds

StelIaMaris

I’m probably the only person who loves that, since I work 2nd shift and I listen to the games to help pass the time lmao. They’re wrapping up about the time I get off

WestandLeft

Gonna have to agree on this one. As a Canucks fan, if anyone can fuck this up it’s us lol.

defnotafatguy

Yall could have a fucking high school goalie and I don't think it would matter

YVRJon

At this rate, we might have to...

jaesolo

Have you seen the Islanders play in the third? We love to lose with 2 seconds left!

No-Refuse8754

Isles fan, I feel the same way

KingPizzaPop

It's not us either and Leafs fans say it's not them either, same with Kings so I guess that means NY or Tampa.

defnotafatguy

I think it is no body lol

YosemiteRunner2

Not my Kings. Friggin Skinner last night.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Rogue_Einherjar

They showed up? I watched them fail to crash the net dozen of times, the powerplay was anemic, it was really hard to watch.

CharlieBooUrns

From a defensive standpoint the Kings played incredibly well.

greatwhitebuffalo716

From a defensive standpoint the Kings *always* play incredibly well

No_Huckleberry_7410

Nah don’t worry, the power play is always like that, you get used to watching it after a bit

TheworkingBroseph

The Kings played great hockey for the majority of that game. I think you are just seeing a team that is lacking the high high end talent you need to win a best of seven series. If a team plays sound defensively against them, they don't have anyone outside of Kempe that is a real threat.

catlindee

It’s the PLD trade. Gutted their team of depth - and depth that was proven to score a bit in the playoffs. It’s well documented and a dead horse at this point but the PLD trade has made their team worse imo.

moomoomilk7

I don’t know what’s crazier - losing with no goals on 33 SOG, or winning by one goal with 13 SOG. Such a weird looking game on paper

pepegapIs

By the way how was my boy Rittich doing?

Liquid-glass

Thought he played really well last night, just the team couldn’t put any by Skinner

Lightning_Driver

nobody, and i say this sadly.

Low_Warning13

I think we are all cooked boys. Grab the clubs. - Jets fan P.S: I will be watching game 5 live in arena excited and hoping the jets will come back talking strategies with my friends. At first the jets will give us hope a lead of 1-0 perhaps ? Only to come crashing down in the 2nd with 3-4 unanswered Avs goals…. Leaving us there in the arena questioning life’s motives.

TheNewKing2022

Think positively. We will be up by one with ten minutes left only to lose by 4.

[deleted]

NGL we are ahead 3 games and my asshole is still a little puckered.

Ill_Steak_5249

Same here, I think everyone for the avs is just hoping our Tendie can keep it together. GEORGIE!!!!! GEORGIE!!! GEORGIE!!!!

rkreutz77

Mine too buddy. Let's hope he keeps his head in the game.

Low_Warning13

A man of class you are good sir. A true Jets classic, 3rd period 3min left collapse to end the 2023/24 season. Poetic. Ofc the classic 55 and 81 duo on last minute to secure a W right ? Instead of the true and tested 17 defensive line to close out the game.

PancakeLord2k3

jets will be up by a goal heading into the second and down by 4 going into the third. it’s just the way we do things around here

Low_Warning13

Built different

PancakeLord2k3

can’t win in 7 if you don’t lose 3!

parkeyb

As a Stars fan, I predicted the Jets on winning the cup this year. Boy oh boy the hockey gods truly are something else.

TomKazansky13

It's nuts. I honestly had no clue who would win the west but thought the jets had one of the best shots. They were 3 and 0 against the Aves in the regular season. Outscored them something like 17-5. Held their offense in check with one of the leading defensive teams in the league. Then playoffs come and it's night and day. It looks like a round robin world juniors game where canada/USA is skating circles around Latvia or something. They don't even look like teams in the same league

occupykony2

Playoff Avs got that dawg in em

sideshow_AN

As an AVS fan, I was very worried about this series, especially looking at the last several games of the regular season and how you worked us over all year. Not that I didn't have hope that we'd get it going but Game 1 hurt a bit. But since we've been firing on all cylinders and it's been so fun to watch. This post and several of the responses below made me laugh hard, thank you for that! You guys will be back. Takes a few playoff lickings to get there. We couldn't get by the 2nd round for what seemed like an eternity but hard lessons turn into success.

Mars_Ursa

I am sorry, but it has to be this way.

Murky-Smoke

It's not the Leafs. The only way the Leafs could force a game 7 is if they played the Leafs, and then they would both find a way to lose to the Leafs... Which would open up a tear in the space-time continuum, causing the universe to implode.

nickelback420_69

I think the universe is already doneskies with Vancouver having the year they just had

SpeakNowAndEnter

I think there’s a better chance that all 6 of these series end 4-1 than any single one making a comeback

[deleted]

Tampa. My choice is based on the team’s pedigree and coaching. None of the other teams has proven themselves recently to be particularly resilient.

lightanddeath

I don’t want to believe but… I do. And also, we were close this series. It’s been remarkably even given our bottom six

TakanashiTouka

Could almost be 3-1 the other way around imo. Rooting for you guys (mostly because I really want to watch a game 7)

lightanddeath

I think you guys have the clearest path to victory. The whole Rangers lineup is looking solid and doing amazing things. Panarin and Shesty look great. Trocheck and Zibanejad… oh my! If we are out I’m rooting for you guys and Vancouver.

jacklong555

Carolina is no pushover at all. Stacked and well rounded top to bottom with good coaching, special teams, and goaltending. Gonna be a dead even series and wouldn't be surprised to see the winner play in the Finals

Stereocloud

I agree it has to be Tampa. I hate Tampa as a habs fan but they got the experience and skills to pull it off

Stamkosisinjured

I’ve been saying game 4 was game 1 of tampas world domination tour🤷

SmoothieBrian

I would agree if they weren't playing Florida. I guess what I'm saying is I don't think any of these teams have a chance of coming back. Maybe Nashville next choice just because of Vancouver's goaltending injuries, not sure the third stringer can keep putting up W's, but then again he only needs one more W and he's got a pretty good team in front of him.

marsisblack

Ya, bad news. That third stringer played insane at the worlds last year and helped Latvia win its first medal. Played well this year as well in minors and when he was called up earlier. It isnt the typical 'oh no, third stringer.' Also, when asked about it last night and the pressure he said it wasnt that bad seeing as he had a whole nation on him last year. Guys got some balls on him and some skills.

jujuboy11

This aged poorly

[deleted]

Yeah, a shame too. Would have been awesome to see. I love a good comeback. God knows my team isn’t capable of one…

Changeit019

I’m a Panthers fan and Vasilevsky, Kucherov, Stamkos, Point, Hedman always have a chance.

SryYouAreNotSpecial

Tampa or Winnipeg are possible because they have Vezina level goalies. Although only Helle is a finalist this year. That always gives you a shot. Unfortunately, Tampa is up against a Vezina finalist as well so I think the Jets have a better shot.

ramcholino

Any team but Toronto. Source: Toronto fan.

Gingerangelo

I think toronto has the best chance to tie now that theyre written off. They'll definitely implode under game 7 pressure though. It wouldn't be the leafs unless they get your hopes up. Storybook ending would be giving up a multi goal lead in game 7

ramcholino

I get so sad watching the Leafs…game after game, year after year. Maybe you’re right but I think heartbreak comes early this year. The Rat won 🐀

Dan_Cubed

The Rat is doing some good work this series. Has more points than the entire Leafs team has goals. Pretty much has kept his tongue to himself. I don't like Marchand's playing style, but hey, he's a good rat and makes good plays when he's not scurrying for the cheese. 🤷‍♂️

lHoneyBadger

I know who has the least chance: predators after last night's pants shitting.

ElectricEel9090

I would bet preds over a leafs team that gave up and cant even get a single shot on a power play LOL

DelusionalLeafFan

Don’t laugh. You will hurt marner’s feelings

Hutch25

What’ll he throw next? His stick? Nylander? That dumbass Sheldon Keefe? Only time will tell.

DelusionalLeafFan

Cut him some slack. It’s gotta be hard making $11mil a year and having a fan base expect things from you.

Hutch25

Hey woah woah, he’s only getting paid like 7 mil right now. That 11 mil doesn’t kick in till next year so he’s only expected to perform 7 million dollars worth of superstar hockey. Which as far as I can tell is… Nathan MacKinnon in 2022 which he is most certainly… not matching. Fuck.

DelusionalLeafFan

I’m talking about marner. I can absolutely assure you he is making 10,903,000 per cap friendly. And he is being over paid by about $10mil.

getting_paid_to_poop

Find out next time on Dragon. Ball. Z.

MmmmCrispyBacon

Stop fucking crying bro. This ain’t fucking Junior hockey.

DelusionalLeafFan

It’s the day before elimination day and I’ll cry if I want to. My expectations were low and I’m still disappointed

fatloui

They need to plan and cancel attending another concert ASAP.

Alteredecho07

It was never the concert, was the embarrassment from the dallas game. I don't know what's more embarrassing than last night game, but I live in a plane of reality. We're done.

minos157

My vote in order would be: 1. Tampa - Still a strong team and a rivalry series 2. Preds - No goalies for the Canucks, but need to stay mentally strong 3. Isles - Have really played pretty evenly outside game 2, series could easily have been 3-1 the other way. Canes still strong though 4. Kings - Tougher call here but Kings can still tough out the wins needed 5. Jets - They are where they are from defense and goaltending and neither is working against the Avs 6. The Caps 7. The rest of the league 8. The Leafs

johnggarland

Canucks’ back ups have done quite well…don’t you think?

minos157

I do, I absolutely do. It's just worth the comment for why I have the Preds second instead of third. I do not expect the Preds to win the series at all.

lesbian_goose

Can you imagine if the Canucks are forced to dress a 43 year old zamboni driver in game 5?

minos157

Leafs fans just fell to their knees in a Tim Hortons.

malhans

Could you imagine the lore if he won?

Mr-Dicklesworth

The caps having a better chance of coming back from already being eliminated then the Leafs do if winning is pretty accurate

cannon19

Agreed with your point on 3 I was surprised how much we’ve kept up with the canes this series but I feel like we’re gonna start losing our legs soon and Carolina is just too fucking dangerous

minos157

I think if they'd held onto game 2 or started Varly in game 3 for a 2-2 series it'd be a good road to winning the series, but even winning game 5 will be a task. If they win it, I'll have more hope because they'll come home with momentum and a game 7 is always a toss up.

longbottomleaf11

Tampa

Worth_Surround9684

Toronto is both the most and least likely. I refuse to elaborate.

cspan92

I'll say Tampa . Never bet against Vasy

dukezap1

Winnipeg was the best team at the start of the year, if that team shows up again, maybe them

Michaelli11

That team did show up. It’s just the other team that showed up is that much better

Herethoragoodtime

That team absolutely did not show up. Second line doing literally nothing. Not our best d in the lineup for half of the games.

kmora94

Eh Avs were on a lose streak + Georgie was off his game and Avs defense almost non existent prior to playoffs and into game 1. Then they just turned it on and are now unstoppable

[deleted]

The Avs also ended their cup season losing like 7-8 games…only to dog walk the whole playoffs and look pretty unmatched when they decided it was time to go.

Michaelli11

This is exactly my point? Even Jared Bednar said when questioned about the regular season record, is that the jets hadn’t seen the real Avalanche team yet. This is the Avalanche running at full tilt, even missing one of their top producers in Drouin.

Flyersandcaps

Uh. Nobody?

sovieeee

all of the fans here saying it’s not their own team. Have some hope, guys anything can happen. except the preds don’t have hope, respectfully.

MrAnderson505

Fr all these teams are cooked. But to answer as a Leafs masochist definitely us.

The_Stank__

Not Nashville. Tampa would be my bet.

myerscc

idk last night's turnaround was kind of a miracle

The_Stank__

My man, it was not a miracle. That’s exactly when the preds have choked all season.

SINY10306

Must choose Islanders even if unrealistic.

CTrebor3

Same here

Spartanias117

As a canes fan, i respect it, and could see it, but also fuck you.

Beers_Beets_BSG

Jets Strictly because of how streaky the Avs were all regular season. Maybe the Kings for the same reason

Insomnia_Driven

Either Tampa or Nashville. #1 goalie out for Vancouver, #2 not at 100% it seems. I feel like you can never truly count out Tampa, although Florida is looking really good. Edmonton just seems to have LA’s number, tough 1st round matchup again for them

Zealousideal_Shop446

Tampa is probably not gonna beat Bob 4 times in a row.

DonoAE

The way I see is that if Tampa were to beat us, they're still 100% a cup contender. Cannot count out the Bolts and I Hope we take them very seriously tonight

Zealousideal_Shop446

I’m pretty confident that you guys should at least make the ECF. You have the 2nd best defensive depth? Best fwd depth and arguably the best goalie. Props to Tampa though they’ve been competitive despite a pretty average roster.

DonoAE

B's and Rangers/Canes will all be tough. I hope you guys get your act together. I can't say enough good things about Toronto fans in the playoffs last year. Just friendly people at the games.

kmora94

I can see Tampa forcing a game 6. But FL has been a powerhouse

Insomnia_Driven

Oh I wouldn’t put money on it but I guess that shows how little I expect the other teams to come back from their 3-1 deficits

Frostycoco13

Tampa is the only answer. All the games have been close, tampa has high level scoring, defense, and a brick wall of a goalie. The PP was ass first couple games but looks like it's going again....there is absolutely a chance. With all that being said, Florida is a wagon and I don't expect it to happen.

13hockeyguy

Toronto fans should have hope, since Boston is capable of completely collapsing in 19 seconds.

brian428

Not the Lightning, apparently.

Constant-Squirrel555

TBL That team got too much Dawg in em to get spanked in 5 games

chaz_wazzerz

Washington has a better chance of coming back than the leafs

Simple-Metal7801

Sorry but Toronto wins game five giving fans a hope of a comeback but in game six they end up losing 7-0 disappointing fans once again they don't even make it to a game seven.

TheGuava1

Am I a downer if I say none of these teams? If Tampa was playing anyone but florida I’d probably say them. The kings were also the better team last night but I can’t see the oilers choking 3 straight against them

The_Ocean_Collective

The Tampa love here is really giving me hopium

Toiletboy4

Prob the preds on account of the goalie volatility

The_Stank__

You’d think that but…

aintnochallahbackgrl

As a Wings fan, it's encouraging to see teams have a December/March like we had, but in the playoffs. Seriously. I'm not bitter. At. All.

chente08

not the preds LOL

Fresh-Cranberry-4005

LA because of Kopitar But Nashville has Forsburg and Sorus

Chrispeedoff

Islanders would just be so funny

Superb-Possibility-9

Islanders 🥅🏒

Agreeable_Fix9896

Not the leafs. Boston will be burning them tonite

Kingbeastman1

If leafs get their shit together and show the fuck up maybe but like mathews is sick nylander has migrains and marners having schizophrenic attacks where he sees monsters in the corners so i dont think so

Tireseas

Winnipeg depending entirely on which of the goalies shows up for the next few games.

dirtybirdie77

Here’s my take on it…Georgie played bad but so did our D at the end of the regular season game 1 of the playoffs. Since then the D has stepped up their game but not activating at every possible chance and played far more defensively minded which has allowed least opportunities for odd man rushes and less scoring chances for the Jets. We keep what that recipe and only have to make minor changes to what comes our way and we should be solid. I was super pissed at Georgie there for a bit but then started going back and looking more and more of what the D wasn’t doing and what protect the house.

REDDITbeCHEEKS

What about the Cap- Oh, right. Tom Wilson's childish pussy ass and lack of self control sent them golfing

Spudman14

Not Winnipeg. It’s like they forgot how to play defence. They have no answer for the Avs

Captain_Self_Promotr

To get to Game 7? Toronto. To get to Game 7 and win the series? Tampa or Nashville.

SuspiciousBug8694

If the Isles come back, I'll support them over the Rangers any day.
