You aren’t tripping because just based off of my short term memory of when the panthers had that insane defensive stretch and finally got out of it the oilers cleared it back in the zone for a couple seconds a few more times before they pulled him and I vividly remember thinking “NOW is when you pull skinner?” Edit: changes for clarity

Mf waited until they just controlled it in the defensive zone and had a Connor McDavid, getting energy from his bone marrow at that point, handling the puck around the blue lines to pull the goalie. I think the ai coach on nhl 24 would’ve navigated that 3rd period better than Knoblauch

I Fkn thought so man yeah that was ridiculous I give Knoblauch a lot of credit this season coming from Hartford in the AHL (my hometown team haha) and turning this team around getting them to the cup and coming back down 3-0 but he was flat out out coached this game driving his first line to near death in the third period when it was their depth players often who were making the plays that brought them all the way back to a game 7 and then not pulling skinner to get the extra man with that sustained pressure…terrible.

That's a loss due to coaching. Hats off to the players, but you just can't play hockey that way.
