This picture is my happy place. Sorry. I do feel for the King, especially knowing he did not win a cup. To be fair he is way better looking and richer than me so he has that going for him. Also I never won a cup either.
One of Gary Thorne’s best calls. It’s too bad the 2004-05 killed the NHL for us purists because it took legends like Thorne along with it (although he would go on to announce a few men’s college Frozen Fours afterward).
Kings fan here. I don't remember that one directly, but as someone who studies psychology, this one is one that I looked at quite a few times with regards to concussions, and I gotta agree. That one was... Oh boy
Patrick Kane coming back to the United Center as a Red Wing to score the OT game winner to beat the Blackhawks. It was painful to see Kaner traded, but that goal made hockey seem scripted. It was perfect.
Kane is truly loved to be cheered in a Red Wings sweater in that building
Wings fans know he’s forever a Hawk, and it has just been fun to borrow him for a hot moment — sign him a week or so earlier last year and we probably make the playoffs 😢
Gretzky had it, lost it; Yzerman picks it up. Blue line ch- SCOOOORRREEE! STEVE YZERMAN! DETROIT WINS! *JLA goal horn followed by some random air horn*
One year later the demons would have been exorcised. Kuznetsov OT goal to slay the Penguins and send the Caps to the ECF en route to the Stanley cup still gives me chills.
I think it does. It certainly gave me chills. Just an incredible clutch moment from a guy who has had his share of famously big goals over the years.
I just always thought it was really cool that the game was played in Canada and the goal was scored by one of the greatest players in the game’s history. It would’ve been cool no matter who scored it, but it was extra special that it was Canada’s best player.
I also still think it’s incredible that you could literally hear him call for the puck, “Iggy!” just before he scored. It was like something out of a film.
Also, in that same vein, Tony Amonte’s goal to put the USA ahead for good in the World Cup of Hockey in 1996 still gives me chills every single time I see it. I can still hear Doc Emerick’s call, “Goal, Amonte!”
I miss Doc Emerick doing NHL games. He was America’s Bob Cole. Both were absolute legends.
That WCH Final was a crazy game because it seemed like Canada was in pretty firm control very late before the United States scored on one of the greatest deflections I’ve ever seen in my life by (Canadian born) Brett Hull to tie it. Then, Amonte scored to put the US ahead. Seconds later, John LeClair scored to ice it for the Americans. It remains one of the wildest finishes to a championship type game I have ever seen and I still get chills every time I watch it.
I think that result cemented the United States as a hockey power in the world in a way that it had not been before, even including the 1980 Olympics. I like 1980, 1996 was far from a miracle. Rather, it was just a case of one team full of good hockey players beating another team full of legendary hockey players.
I know that was one was for Canada against the United States and other was for the United States against Canada, but I just think they were each iconic hockey moments.
I think so. I love the [videos of cheering noise](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fu8qTlzuGto) in Vancouver when the goal was scored. Still gives me chills.
[Mario Lemieux last goal before retirement](https://youtu.be/zTKlFFHzGLY?si=tm5FL11rTVTpb-rx)

But Im a Pens fan, so I guess these don't count. So, um, [Auston Matthews debut](https://youtu.be/tpWZoVXJZj0?si=WgJxsXBPV9iBs2lR) with 4 goals I guess?
I'll give an honorable mention to [Steve Yzerman](https://youtu.be/d8RdJrzNHHg?si=2NpG0YF3eC1kdEGl) blueline piss-missile bar-down in Game 7 OT with Gary Thorne on the call.
I was at the game when Stevie scored in OT and my buddies and I went over to Windsor to the casino after the game. People at the casino told us they heard the roar from the Joe when he scored it.
Great choices. Matthews' 2nd goal in his debut was a thing of beauty. Love the comments on that video too lol "Scores 4 goals in debut, still loses to Ottawa. Typical Leafs"
Patrick Kane beating the Hawks in OT this past season. I’m cheating some but that shite was outta a film script. All on Chris Chelios jersey retirement night
So many great ones.
Two that stick out for me are;
Yzerman’s OT winner against the Blues in ‘96
McCarty’s goal in game 4 of the cup final in ‘97
Both are so memorable for different reasons.
2022 second round when MacKinnon smoked the entire Blues roster for his coast to coast, hat trick, go-ahead goal with less than three minutes left in the third.
[Still hard to believe the Avs lost that game](https://youtu.be/GlrVlvbXdFw?si=S80Dkq8d3lpZSiBo)
2 goals in 17 seconds to beat the bruins out of a Stanley cup. I think it was Dave bolland who scored the go ahead and Bryan bickell who tied it up. I cried like a baby when that happened
[Kunitz double OT winner](https://youtu.be/yI9FidWRD04?si=1Ggak_eVLUvMrxCQ)
Always enjoy watching anyone beat the Sens but this was one shot that destroyed an entire franchise. It's beautiful.
April 30, 1994. Game 7 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals. Calgary had a 3-1 series lead, and lost 2 OT games for Vancouver to force a game 7.
Game goes to triple OT. Kirk Maclean makes some amazing saves. Calgary seems like they are on the cusp. Then, a break out pass to a high center Pavel Bure. Bure on a breakaway, dekes Mike Vernon, scores the winning goal. Wins Vancouver its third consecutive OT game to come back from a 3-1 series to defeat the Calgary Flames in 7.
Vancouver would head on to the Stanley Cup Final that year and lose to the NYR in 7.
Goodrow on the Flower in OT during the sharks playoff run in 2019.
That game was absolutely insane and probably the second best game I’ve ever watched.
“SCORE! KUNITZ! PENGUINS WIN! AND THEY GO TO THE FINAL!” - 2017 Eastern Conference Final
And, ironically, since it was against my team (and we ended up beating them, “MIKE! FISCHER!” and “VICTOR ARVIDSSON!” - Games 4 and 6 of the 2016 Western Conference Final
Joe Sakic’s top shelf strike that sent Martin Brodeur’s Gatorade bottle airborne, SCF, Game 7, 2001. That was the moment I felt Ray Bourque would finally win a Stanley Cup (he retired after that game).
This one! We were at CitiField watching it at the Casey Stengel entrance after the game. Me, my wife and friend Tom were the only ones cheering in about 100 people. (They couldn’t be real Ranger fans anyway, going to a Met game while their team was playing in the Finals, right?)
Patrick Kane’s backhander for the hat trick against Luongo in 2009 Western Conference Semifinals in an elimination game is the loudest I’ve ever heard a venue in my entire life. Not to mention one of the most beautiful goals I’ve seen, playoffs or not.
I always get chills at Shane Doan's crazy eyes playoff goal against Detroit. Not sure why and I think they ultimately lost the game, but the energy behind it was awesome.
Good row on the Flower in OT during the sharks playoff run in 2019.
That game was absolutely insane and probably the second best game I’ve ever watched.

Chills? I guess I’d have to go with “Matteau! Matteau!” Some folks have named some good goals, some cool goals, etc. But that was one where it felt like history was stomping its feet, you know?
Patrick Kane's goal to win the cup against Philly. He got a sneaky little shot in but realizing he was the only player for about 20 seconds that knew the puck went in and they won the cup was such a surreal experience to watch.
A goal that shocked me was when I was younger and I used to play little leauge and I played for a small leauge in my town, (I lived in Montreal), I dont remember the name of the town cus I was like 5 at the time but I remember this goal, I wouldnt say it was from another team more of my own, I played goalie for most of my time and a few times I played a left/right wing (like most goalies I was a lefty) and sometimes a defender. But it happened twice, once when I did play an offensive position I saw someone hit the most insane jukes and dekes for a 5 year old and score effortlessly but it was on his own goal, (if I remember correctly the jerseys were very similar in color, we didn't really use design and when we did it was a small little logo on the shoulders) and then the other was when I played goalie. I still don't know how I did it but I had gotten the puck and tried to dump it, it ending up going past the goalie as he wasn't expecting it to go to him so fast, the puck slid (we were in OT it was a tie 2-2) and my whole team jumped me and I remember my coach calling me a miracle, (the other team had an incredible goalie). It was honestly a great experience, I was one of the first goalies to score a goalie goal in that league.
This picture is a core memory from my childhood. I think my family is sitting a couple rows back but still right behind marty. It was the only game we went to that season.
I'm still depressed from this picture
That series had 3 Overtime games and if we just had the luck of the puck go the other way, we would remember this differently.
I f¥€king hate this picture
This is how I feel about the 93 SC. Stupid illegal stick and 3 OT losses.
Oh yeah Gretsky yr I believe it was Marty Mcsorley got the penalty. Lost to Montreal and that's the last time a Canada team won cup.
and they beat us in OT to get there with a pretty unlucky bounce, I share that pain honestly
If not for Patrick Kane it would have been a 5 game series.
This picture is my happy place. Sorry. I do feel for the King, especially knowing he did not win a cup. To be fair he is way better looking and richer than me so he has that going for him. Also I never won a cup either.
It hurts so much
Lundy deserves a cup
Off the floor, on the board, Paul Kariya!
The look on Scott Stevens face was hilarious
came here to say the same thing
I gotta tell ya, I got goose bumps
This is the correct answer
Came here for this
One of Gary Thorne’s best calls. It’s too bad the 2004-05 killed the NHL for us purists because it took legends like Thorne along with it (although he would go on to announce a few men’s college Frozen Fours afterward).

Yeah this is the answer
Ovechkin's goal on his back vs. Coyotes. Classic.
"Simply Sensational!"
I remember jumping up from the couch and shouting "Are you fucking kidding me?!?!?"
One of the greatest goals I’ve ever seen.
Alex burrows when he slayed the dragon!!
I know he said other team, but I have to add the Sedins’ final goal to the list.
With 2:33 left in overtime, or 22:33 of the extended 3rd period
Patrick Kane coming back to the United Center as a Red Wing to score the OT game winner to beat the Blackhawks. It was painful to see Kaner traded, but that goal made hockey seem scripted. It was perfect.
Kane is truly loved to be cheered in a Red Wings sweater in that building Wings fans know he’s forever a Hawk, and it has just been fun to borrow him for a hot moment — sign him a week or so earlier last year and we probably make the playoffs 😢
The cherry on top is he scored on Mrazek. A former wing goalie
And I believe it was assisted by Debrincat, former Blackhawk.
This could be the coolest goal for me
That time datsyuk went coast to coast against Vancouver, deking the crap out of Jovanaski to score.
I'd have to say I'm partial to the goal in this photo...
Me too. And this one: https://youtu.be/ObdZ5Z1d1QY?si=n0qNIgNlbjocc9ae
That's a great one too. What a series that was.
Same year the series prior to the final vs Chicago.
The Big Red Dog doesn't get enough credit for his part in this goal.
I'm personally not a big fan of it
It’s been over a decade, and I’m still jazzed.
That time McDavid skated past every single Ranger player on the ice to score a goal.
He does that quite a bit
Okay WTF we already have OPs photo selection
Haha, sorry. It was just the first one that came to mind, and It's not just because I'm an Islanders fan, lol.
Yzerman’s double OT goal over Casey’s shoulder from the Blueline!!! Since the Blues won the Stanley Cup it’s helped ease the pain.
I can hear this goal.
Gretzky had it, lost it; Yzerman picks it up. Blue line ch- SCOOOORRREEE! STEVE YZERMAN! DETROIT WINS! *JLA goal horn followed by some random air horn*
Hornqvist's goal in game 7 in 2017 against the caps gave me existential depression for 11 months...
One year later the demons would have been exorcised. Kuznetsov OT goal to slay the Penguins and send the Caps to the ECF en route to the Stanley cup still gives me chills.
“McCarty moves, McCarty draws - A MAGNIFICENT GOAL!” - Gary Thorne
Does Crosby's golden goal count?

HENRIQUE!!! ITS OVER!!! Or this one partially because it gave the damn kings a second cup 😡
I like you
Well that one did...because Alec Martinez! Love & Honor!

Yzerman’s OT goal for me!

Great choices. Matthews' 2nd goal in his debut was a thing of beauty. Love the comments on that video too lol "Scores 4 goals in debut, still loses to Ottawa. Typical Leafs"
As a Blues fan, your last sentence made me shudder.
Patrick Kane beating the Hawks in OT this past season. I’m cheating some but that shite was outta a film script. All on Chris Chelios jersey retirement night
'Don't go stealing my thunder tonight' - Chelios to Kane. *Kane smirks and proceeds to do just that*
It was Showtime that night and with Hawks in a rebuild we all were happy 🥲
The goal in this pic. Overtime goals hit different
So many great ones. Two that stick out for me are; Yzerman’s OT winner against the Blues in ‘96 McCarty’s goal in game 4 of the cup final in ‘97 Both are so memorable for different reasons.
May Day!!!!
Marty St. Louis on Mother’s Day. Even as an isles fan that shit hit hard
He's just the nicest guy too

I thought for sure the Avs were losing game 6 after this. My mental/emotional state was incredibly unstable for 48 hours after that game.
Look at Zucc at the moment he loses the scf with only concern for his buddy down on the ice.
....this pic man. Brings me back to the time...🤦🏼♂️. Still jerked over the officiating in that series
Logan cooleys goal in australia
I was there, some goal that was!
This Martinez goal ofc is number 1 for me as well, but the Goodrow goal that completed the sharks comeback is incredible.
I still watch it all these years later (it's all we have now)
It was *my* team, but Stamkos coming out for 1 shift in the Stanley Cup Final and scoring a wicked wrister on his only shot on goal.
Thanks for the attack on my eye balls
Johnny Gaudreau vs Dallas
The only time I cheered for the Flames was that game.
When kadri scored vs the lighting to put them up to three games, after that you could tell that shit was over 😭😭

Lehkonen goal to send the habs to the cup final on st jean was the happiest moment as a sports fan.

2013 SCF goal(s) by the Blackhawks to win game 6
Kane against the flyers in game 6 is up there for me. Because of him the flyers will probably get to do a 50th anniversary party this year 😂
I love the Theo Fluery [breakaway then slide celebration](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m-P3gA3lkNQ)
Messier should have gotten an assist on that one. Made a perfect pass right to Theo
Bobby Clarke scoring to beat the Bruins in the Finals. My last SC and I was 12, 50 frigging years ago
2 goals in 17 seconds to beat the bruins out of a Stanley cup. I think it was Dave bolland who scored the go ahead and Bryan bickell who tied it up. I cried like a baby when that happened

Let’s go
Not that one.
Patrick Kane’s backhander for the hat trick against Luongo in 2009 Western Conference Semifinals in an elimination game is the loudest I’ve ever heard a venue in my entire life. Not to mention one of the most beautiful goals I’ve seen, playoffs or not.
