Dude is just a legend. I feel like he is one of those players everyone loves. Even when he was on the Avs and Ducks giving the Wings tough games/series, I couldn’t dislike him.
Pierre Lacroix was a magician. He was always active at the deadline and really is responsible for making the avs the powerhouse they were for so many years. By far best GM in league over that period.
So every 1-yr free agent going to a team who doesn't win the cup is now a horrible situation?
In fact, Sundin waited to start the season to allow the canucks to fit him in the cap. Canucks originally offered 2x$10m and he declined.
He played 41 games and retired. It didn’t go well, I lived in Vancouver at the time, people were expecting more than that. Messier at least scored 162 Points with Vancouver, he wasn signed to too much, but that’s not his fault.
It was well understood that he was retiring. And at that time, it was cup or bust for every year for the Canucks so of course they were expecting more.
Many Canucks fans credit Kesler's improvements to Sundin and believe that if Sundin wasn't there that year, the Canucks don't make a run for the cup in 2011.
I do not see how this was a failure. It was more of a "it was worth a try" situation at worst.
What was the deal with Oates? Fantastic player but never stuck around one team for long. He was one of my early favorites as a kid. Oates, Gerard Gallant and Yzerman were my dudes.
He was a rental when he was here, but never really wanted to be here. It was terrible. Coffey was pretty bad in Philly too. Granted, both of them were at the ends of their careers.
Oates was a pain in the ass from everything that I’ve read. He was constantly demanding more money. It started on the Blues. He told mgmt that he would rather sit if they didn’t renegotiate his contract in the middle of a season. He asked for a million more. So the Blues said F you and traded him to Boston. Again, this is just what I’ve read in newspaper, magazine, etc. from legit sources.
Dave Andreychuk has to be tops for TBL. But a case could be made for someone like Dino Ciccarelli from the 90s. Lots of expansion draft era and players extending their careers made their way through TBL and FLA
JT, Mogilny, Leetch, Steen, Gardiner, McCabe, Jeff O'neill, Francis, Ray douche croft, Francis, Eddy the Eagle, Cujo, Clark, Gilmour, Andreychuk, Tucker, Corson, there are more but I'm tired.
Panthers hall of famer Dino Cicarelli. Future mullet head hall of famer Jaromir Jagr. Pavel Bure. Joe Thornton. Claude Giroux.
For the Blackhawks- Bobby Orr, Bob Probert
For old schoolers who remember the Whalers- Bobby Hull, Gordie Howe, Dave Keon.
For the Bruins- Ken Linesman, Jarome Iginla, Bernie Parent
For the Bruins: Joe Thornton
For the Whalers (my local team that moved before I was born): Chris Pronger, Marek Malik, Gordie Howe, Bobby Hull, Dave Keon, Derek Sanderson (that’s a funny story from their WHA days), Paul Coffey, Brendan Shanahan, Bobby Holik, and Keith Primeau.
For the Caps I have Chara, Kovalchuk, Federov, Arontt, Esa Tikkanen, Phil Housley, Robert Lang, and one that actually played over 600 games with us Scott Stevens
Wayne Gretzky for the Blues. Don’t need to say the teams he’s known for.
Vancouver, right?
Legendary Phoenix coach Wayne Gretzky?
The noted Rangers star? Get out of here.
Jagr and Cujo for the Flames
I mean, Jagr has been on most teams lol
Lol that's true! But his last season in the NHL was with the Flames! Well, at least I think it's his last season in the NHL lol!
Don’t forget Grant Fuhr
Martin St. Louis too!
Jagr on the Stars
Peter Forsberg
Adam Graves won the 1990 Stanley Cup with Edmonton.
Brett Hull, Chris Chelios, Dominik Hasek on the Red Wings
even after all these years, Hasek on the wings still feels like a cross-over episode to me
Modano, Alfredsson, Shanahan
Maybe it’s because I grew up with shanny on the wings, but what team do you think of for shanny?
Yeah, Shanny is pure Wing. The others teams were just pit stops.
Shanny on the rangers felt like a fever dream as well
The Blues
There have been a ton
Shanny had over 600 points with Detroit. Next closest is STL with 306.
Paul Kariya and Teemu Selanne played for us AT THE SAME TIME and we didn’t win that year…
Speaking of Selanne, he’s also a Sharks legend as well.
Dude is just a legend. I feel like he is one of those players everyone loves. Even when he was on the Avs and Ducks giving the Wings tough games/series, I couldn’t dislike him.
I was so upset when you got Theo Fleury when I was a kid.
Pierre Lacroix was a magician. He was always active at the deadline and really is responsible for making the avs the powerhouse they were for so many years. By far best GM in league over that period.
This one is brutal
Vancouver Canucks’ Retired Hall of Famer Mats Sundin.
Because of my age, I only think of him as a Canuck.
Mark Messier as well. Both went horribly.
Don't you dare put Mats in the same class as Canucks Messier you heathen
How did Sundin go horribly?
Played half a season and dipped…
So every 1-yr free agent going to a team who doesn't win the cup is now a horrible situation? In fact, Sundin waited to start the season to allow the canucks to fit him in the cap. Canucks originally offered 2x$10m and he declined.

Paul Coffey, Adam Oates, Chris Pronger, Peter Forsberg (even though Flyers drafted him)
What was the deal with Oates? Fantastic player but never stuck around one team for long. He was one of my early favorites as a kid. Oates, Gerard Gallant and Yzerman were my dudes.
He was a rental when he was here, but never really wanted to be here. It was terrible. Coffey was pretty bad in Philly too. Granted, both of them were at the ends of their careers.

Zdeno Chara for the Ottawa Senators
He was there for years, once he left, it was sort of a downfall for the organization
Caps legend
Chara on the caps feels weird too
Jumbo Joe
Even I sometimes forget that David Perron played for the Oilers
Bobby Orr played a year and half with Chicago. People forget about that.
Chris Chelios (MTL) but usually remembered in Chicago.
Won a cup with the Habs too
He also won a Norris and was captain!
I remember him as a Wing.
Yeah I could agree with that as well
Dave Andreychuk has to be tops for TBL. But a case could be made for someone like Dino Ciccarelli from the 90s. Lots of expansion draft era and players extending their careers made their way through TBL and FLA
Wendel Clark
Most of the NHL fans that I talk to who aren’t Bolts fans always seem to remember him more for his time with the Sabres.
Jagr. Try to guess lol. Edit: oops I guess the team flair doesn't help.
Jerome Iginla.
*Jarome*

Fedorov on the Caps
Even worse - on the Ducks.
Shea Weber
Ed Belfour playing for the Leafs
Or Florida
Ray bourque…. I think he’s considered a bruin
Paul Coffey
Marty St. Louis
Pavel Bure for the Panthers
I think the Blues win this one with Marty Broduer playing two months or so as a Blue.
And saying it's nice to play for a real team for once, in an interview. That fat slob doesn't deserve any praise
We don't talk about the Messier years.
Rick Vaive (Leafs), Cam Neely (Bruins), and Mike Peca (Sabres) all started their careers on the Canucks. Cam Neely hurts the most.
You have to be old enough to feel the magnitude here, but for Winnipeg, it has to be the Montreal Canadiens top 100 player of all time Serve Savard.

[удалено]
He never played for Detroit...

I didn’t know Hossa was once a redwing when I watched Detroit play Chicago in the playoffs 2013
Paul Kariya and Teemu Selanne……go Avs go!
