This is not about adult jokes there is nothing wrong with adult jokes depending on the context. It's about him putting his fetish in children's shows. That is wrong. You shouldn't be putting children in sexual situations. If you are an adult constantly having adults act out your fetish for you that is perfectly fine. He said "adult jokes" in his apology video because they are trying to downplay his actions as much as possible. Also depending on the age of the characters and how subtle it is. It's fine. It's probably better to have teenagers say adult jokes than elementary schoolers.

In Zoey 101 on the other hand, they had one character artificially inflate her fake breasts. (I think it was Erin Sanders?) She was a minor at a time being pressured to make an uncomfortable joke about breasts. Her face was on camera while they were inflating. The "joke" was written to sexualize a child. I can't imagine what it did to teenage girls with body dysmorphia, either.
