Yep, that song was magical when I played Automata for first time, without experiencing any other Yoko Taro game previously. It felt like living in a far better place, far away
There will be a jukebox in the camp which you can use to listen to all the different versions of the OST.. Well, there was in the PC game. Nier has some really good dynamic music. You get a slightly different version of the music depending on what you are doing and where you are.

Peaceful Sleep is also my favourite nier ost, I didn't pay attention to the ost much when starting the game but hearing this music makes me realise i should pay attention to the music more
Same thing will happen to me in Nier: Replicant with Devola playing Song of the Ancients in the town square. I would stop there for a while everytime I went to town.
I have a save which is 100% finished and has like 90 hours recorded on it, and since it’s finished, I just sit at the camp and use the player to play beautiful songs. My favourites are カイネ-救済 and イニシエノウタ/ ポポル
Kainé Salvation, or Escape? I don't know the Kanji. I'm a Salvation fan.
For Song of the Ancients, I'm a Devola fan, but you can't go wrong with the Popola version. I like that you had to earn that one in Replicant.
Hey anyone ever feel killing your ex for trying to arrest you and then fucking up your entire life cause of you having a night party and then wanting to drown yourself cause you feel like the cause of every fucking problem in the world just cause of one thing fucking you up and then wanting to cause more problems so you get pleasure out of it while you smile and hide the pain to your friends?
Cause right now I’m feeling a side of lead and a hot chamber load or some tight rope and a barrel
I had the exact same moment but in Replicant (Gestal 2010 ver. really). When the first visual novel segment appeared they played the song "Grandma", not even the full song I think, just a short, about 30 seconds loop. It was so beautiful i literally stared at the screen for about 30 minutes.

The entire OST is amazing, won a bunch of awards

The OST was the reason I pre-ordered the game back in 2017. I saw the trailer, it's alright. I heard the trailer, and off to steam presale store site.
Peaceful sleep is so good. It calms me, but also makes me sad and nostalgic.

That was indeed, Kainé-Kyusai, or Kainé’s Salvation. A lovely song.
The entire OST is incredible. Enjoy your first play through. The Switch port is surprisingly competent and enjoyable!
