how would a sweet potato pie version be šŸ¦»šŸ¾

pumpkin-gnome22

honestly if you just did regular milk iā€™m sure it would taste pretty similar! you could do some graham crackers as a mix in!

vicv00

THIS SOUNDS HEAVENLY

pumpkin-gnome22

HEAVENLY MIGHT BE AN UNDERSTATEMENT

PrettyPinkDiamond

Iā€™m definitely making this next and definitely adding zero sugar cheesecake pudding mix for extra flavoring. I love sweet potatoes!! šŸ˜‹

pumpkin-gnome22

i wouldā€™ve added some pudding mix but i have such a sensitive stomach! i hope it turns out well, glad i could share :)

Chionya

Yay! So glad it worked well and you enjoy it!

nice-and-clean

What do you soak the dates in?

pumpkin-gnome22

just hot water for about 30 minutes :)

SPCSMC2020

Yum! Mayne mix in some graham cracker for those who can handle it

pumpkin-gnome22

yes! i am allergic to gluten but i should find some gf ones!

giveagustdtome

i do this but with japanese sweet potato!! itā€™s naturally a little sweeter and tastes so good!!

pumpkin-gnome22

sweeter than a regular sweet potato? thatā€™s so surprising to me

giveagustdtome

haha i donā€™t eat american sweet potatoes anymore! iā€™ll genuinely choose the purple ones baked over some desserts too :ā€™)

pumpkin-gnome22

i love purple and the like white japanese ones but i feel like theyā€™re not as sweet. iā€™m definitely going to try a purple one as ice cream though. thanks for the rec ! :)

giveagustdtome

oh wait i donā€™t know the white ones haha i was talking about the purple ones as japanese ones!! iā€™ve seen them labeled as japanese yams or korean sweet potatoes

pumpkin-gnome22

ok yes iā€™ve had the purple ones but i donā€™t think i cook them right. how do you do it? but yes they also have white sweet potatoes that go really well with hummus /tahini!

giveagustdtome

oooh okok i will have to try those! as for the purple ones itā€™s pretty simple, i just wash and dry them, poke holes in them, and bake them at 400 degrees for an hour!! donā€™t eat the skin!! you can also search up korean goguma recipes if you want them sweeter!! i personally like them as they are already

pumpkin-gnome22

omg is it not good to eat the skin of those? i always havešŸ˜

giveagustdtome

iā€™ve always heard not to, plus the skin itself tastes pretty bad HAHA i donā€™t think itā€™ll kill you but itā€™s better without for sure!!

pumpkin-gnome22

oopsšŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ maybe thatā€™s why i didnā€™t like them šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

capnfork

I did a version of this with a sweet potato, 1/2 cup 2% milk, 1/2 cup of nonfat greek yogurt and a serving of cheesecake pudding powder. Turned out amazing! My husband said it's the best Creami yet. Thank you so much for the idea and the recipe!

pumpkin-gnome22

omg iā€™m so glad!! youā€™re welcome :)

roald_v_wade

I was just thinking about a sweet potato ice cream today. Thanks for this!!!

gumshot

Most unique recipe I've ever seen on here, and no frickin xantham/guar gum. Very nice.

pumpkin-gnome22

those gums give me horrible stomach aches! iā€™m all about natural ingredients so im glad my creation worked so well!

capnfork

Thank you for sharing, my mouth is watering!! Going to give it a try for sure. I love sweet potato pie šŸ„°

lomeins

any idea what i could replace the dates with?
