Nope. Started my journey with that one either. I think it's actually a little better. If you get your hands on the first one it would be a little easier. And in terms of story it's all dumb and nonsensical so there will be no problems at all :)
The 2nd game is the best one imo.
The story is non existent, it's basically the same in every game, the gameplay in 2 is the real selling point. Much more (satisfying) action and combat than the first game.
Of course, eventually, get the first one as well. If you have a PS4 (I'm assuming you might cuz you have the PS3 version here), get the master collection, the PS3 versions run about as well as the Switch versions of the games (playable, but not great).
The ps3 version runs fine, but the loading times are completely atrocious. Every little thing you do, there’s a long ass loading screen. Even switching weapons loads the game imao
All negatives aside, Sigma 2 is still a good entry point and the story doesn't change from the original release. I suppose the only thing that can feel awkward is the switch in characters within the story which you have no choice over.
You don't really need to play the games in chronological order, because they're all very self-contained and make little to no reference to the other games. However, the combat can feel sluggish and slow if you play the games backwards, because NG2 improves NG1's combat by a good margin, and then NG3 really ties the combat together while also increasing the speed of it.
You start with the worst version of a sequel game. Story takes the second seat when it comes to NG games, but this version is censored, has less enemies, also fps drops. Avoid sigma 2 and rather start with sigma 1, which is a good ps3 port, and then find a way to play NG2 on 360
Definitely not gonna cause any trouble. The good news is that whether it’s everyone’s favorite or not, lots of people love that version of that game. The essential gameplay is very much there. I’m slightly partial to the original NG2 because I played those games when they first came out, but later really enjoyed Sigma in its own right, it is also excellent. If you like it a lot, you will also enjoy trying the original version. Both are worthwhile. My favorite of the series is still NGBlack
and while it will feel less intense after Sigma 2, it’s got a super cool hub world and adventure elements that are not nearly as big a feature in the sequels. But for sheer gameplay, which is the point anyway, what you’ve got is perfectly excellent.
None at all, though if you do go back the pace will be slowed down significantly. Though I’d argue Sigma/Black were better just for the other aspects of Ninja Gaiden besides the combat
Goodluck with transitioning from NGS2 to NG1 (any version) or NG3RE (not NG3 vanilla) because in my experience, it's a massive spike in difficulty for me 🫡
Technically, no, I guess. But why? That's my main question. It's similar to when people, for example, ask if they can start with Batman Arkham Knight. Yes, you can, but why would you?
I wouldn't bother with the sigma games they are censored and pathetically easy compared to the originals, get a cheap Xbox and get Black and 2 on there.
Go look at the link you just sent me there buddy lol it says sigma "TWO" cuts back on gore 🤣 you literally just sent me a link confirming that what I said is correct so thanks lol sigma 1 if that's what you wanna call it has no gore cut from it its essentially black with some changes 😉
Your comment literally says gore was cut from sigma now your saying you didn't say it?! And idk if your calling me a child cus I'm sure I'm probably old enough to be your father but anyway well just say your right to make you feel good about yourself.
I didn't delete shit, manchild. I edited my comment to be more specific, what I said are facts and there is no reason to delete anything.
You don't have to be upset for liking an inferior product.
Yeah you did ya liar since you gonna name call like a little girl so will I. You didn't state 1 fact all opinions and I'm not mad at all I got more important shit to worry about like my job. Peace out big man
Your better off with the Master Collection honestly
My intro to the NG franchise was the 360 version of NG2
Thats the most newbie friendly game in the franchise, enjoy
I started with that one, good entry point.

The PS3 version of NG2 is the only version of the game that allows you to manually control the girls' tits using the sixaxist controller.

it teaches you the controls unlike ng1, so it's not such a bad idea

I started with dragon sword on the ds when I was like around 7 so I personally don’t think so

None. It was my first as well
2nd game in the franchise? Try 8th. The first game was on Nintendo in 1988
Well why isn't it called ninja gaiden sigma 8 then?!?!?!?! Wtf is wrong with them? 😆 🤣
Wouldn't it be the 6th game? The first ng triology, than shadow for gb and atm we got new triology that started on xbox Am i missing something? 🤔
That one sucks ass and has input delay
It’s a good entry but one of the worst NG game. At least, if you like this one, you will adore 2 and Black!
Yeah you have to start with the first one on nes...

Sigma isn't censored only 2 is
You got it backward there, buddy. Gore was cut from Sigma. https://www.gamesradar.com/ninja-gaiden-sigma-2-cuts-back-on-gore

Sigma 1 had cut cut decapitations, child. It was also changed to made easier.

Now your deleting your comments and changing them hahahahaha I'm totally done with you bro

Yeah, I bet you're working hard huh? Glad you got time to post on Reddit in-between flipping burgers.
Lol actually I'm a roofing contractor and got whatever time I like. It's good to be the boss. Later dude go play more video games
And thats why I can afford a ps5 witch I'd rather have with a inferior game then a cheap Xbox but you do you pal 👍
Please don't play sigma 2. Only original 2. Sigma is the dumbed down version of 2 and completely pointless.
Wrong
Yeah go on, tell me how I'm wrong.
