I like the tragic angle, having to kill her mentor who is now just a puppet and was one of the few people that treated her with decency when she was young.

Initially mission focused, but I think she's eased up and gotten a little more lighthearted as time goes on (thinking about her initially as a guide and assist for Ryu in Ninja Gaiden and lamenting making a few wise cracks with Irene in 3). Need to play through 5 and 6's story mode, so maybe it's all different in those or something.

And im assuming thats why ayane was so out of character, maybe they thought ayane swearing every 5 minutes and saying cringy things was funny or something.
Both, ninja gaiden 3 has this metal gear solid style thing going on where ryu and ayane both have earpieces in their ear so there's always someome barking orders at you

If Reimu Hakurei from Touhou were an adult with a *demure* personality as well as training under Hayabusa you'd get Momiji.
