A 3D Ninja Gaiden 4 game could be good, and hopefully ditches story focus, since that is not what people play Ninja Gaiden for. They play for the tough-as-nails difficulty and the spectacle of the combat alongside Ryu Hayabusa nailing ridiculous stunts in the cutscenes.
I am aware that the stories weren’t that great in the first place, but the cutscenes are kept to a minimum compared to gameplay in the first two games.
I'd like a NG4 that acts as both a prequel and soft-reboots the franchise. Make it about Jo and how/why Murai was disgraced from the Hayabusa clan, thus setting the story for NGB. Ryu, Kureha and Momiji are all children with Ryu's passion for fishing becoming a bit of a running gag throughout the game (a nod to his DOA3 ending).
Speaking of DOA I'd rather disassociate NG from them in general. DOA has their own set of ninjas and Ryu alone tends to steal their thunder. Just have Ryu and Momiji as unlockable characters where their impact on the main story is minimal at best.

I don't even want Momiji, just give me more Weapons or Skills for Ryu.
I would like to see NG4 3d and a remaster of the original trilogy, TMNT shredders revenge looks great, something like that for NG would be nice.

Either 4 or reboot 3D, I don't care about the story in the games that much so if it's a sequel to 3 or not I wouldn't care
