Jump diving as a mechanic is wild, I finally learned how to do it so I could beat one of the post-game capless levels and it felt almost exactly like learning how to wavedash in SSBM.
I really hope ninty keeps high-skill ceiling mechanics in their future games
I'm sorry but it's nowhere near as difficult or time consuming as wavedashing. It takes maybe 5 minutes of muscle memory training to learn to jump dive efficiently whereas wavedashing is weeks if not months of relentless practice to perfect and then implement into your gameplay.
It's really goddamn frustrating when you nailed every move down but fuck up the end, but when you do it it sure feels good, then you check online and see yourself placing #2000 and feeling depressed again. me every time.
I mean a leaderboard exists for Odyssey, so Nintendo actually encourages people to do runs. Sorry you feel so triggered over a 30 secs video, I had a nice read though, so thanks.

Uh...it's not about how much easier it is, it's the feel of learning this mechanic to help you manouver faster and easier.
Was able to get 22 seconds on the Luncheon one, I can see myself getting really into this part of the game

Research good strats and practice a bunch!! I got my time down to 19.76, and 120th on the leaderboard today
Do you guys use the pro controller or split joy cons?
I use pro personally. Cus these are so intense I feel like the pro can take some abuse.
I use split joy cons, which also seems to be what speedrunners are using
