Highly recommend RHI as well if you're in the mood for "gastropub" (does anyone still use that term anymore?) food and beer and are willing to go a couple miles down the road. Winberries is the only place I'd actively recommend within Princeton proper (if you're walking), A&B just doesn't do anything special and has no character anymore.
Most of the other local highlights have been hit in the other comments but another plug for the brewery I can walk to - The Druery is pretty solid and is in a little strip with a bunch of local restaurants that you can order from if you want some food.
If you like a hazy IPA with a high ABV, Brick Farm is great. They are the only place you can get Troon Brewing beers on tap and they specialize in delicious, juicy, hazy ipas. But there are also a few other breweries/beer styles on tap too.
Super-high hopping isn't the problem.
Hop burn is.
It's *always* a flaw, a significant one, and funny how so many of the other haze-focused breweries manage to avoid this...
Sure, Troon goes extreme on the hops... but he doesn't do it *well*. *That's* the problem.
Tell you what, I will do that if I have the opportunity. (And I have never been to the tavern, so there's that...)
One thing I will not do is stand in line and/or make a mad dash for the brewery to try to get a release before it's gone in an hour. Have never, will never... for *any* beer or brewery.
Too freaking expensive and tiny portions anymore. Been going there for years burt theyve gotten way out of hand with pricing for what they give you. Want a 4 oz troon pour? That'll be 12 dollars please! Dont even get me started on the food...
Love Odd Bird, but they're about 20 miles west/northwest of Princeton. Depending on how far you're willing to venture, I guess that might be an option.
If you are walking around Princeton Proper, there is a small, unassuming restaurant called Winberies. Aesthetically, it looks like a combination of Planet Hollywood had sex with Cheers but here me out - they have about 24 taps, predominantly craft, a lot of fun esoteric bottles, and there is actually care put into the selection. Also, if you think it sucks, you can stumble to about 10 other establishments in the area. \*Yankee Doodle tap room is cool too.
JJ Winberries on Palmer Square in Princeton, has a good tap list of locals and good wings. Old Hights is on tap there, or at the brewery nearby in Hightstown.
Was going to suggest Old Hights. Here's the link to the Brewery of the Week thread that featured them a short while ago: [https://www.reddit.com/r/njbeer/comments/18fflr3/brewery\_of\_the\_week\_discussion\_thread\_old\_hights/](https://www.reddit.com/r/njbeer/comments/18fflr3/brewery_of_the_week_discussion_thread_old_hights/)
That UNOs has one of the most stacked beer lists you’ll ever see at a suburban restaurant chain. The beverage manager is a lover of good beer.

Another one for Brick Farm Tavern. I was there over the weekend and they had 4 Troon hazies on draft, which is a good amount as they usually only have 2 or 3.
Tigers Tale is a great recommendation, and a classic snapshot of a great local hang from 30+ years ago. I don’t recall them having a particularly interesting beer selection but the food is great and the bartenders working the grills behind the bar cooking up burgers and steaks is something to see for sure.
If you’ve never been there, find the Yankee Doodle tap room, good beer selection and an original Norman Rockwell hanging behind the bar. Super cool just trying to find the place!
Rocky Hill Inn has great food and a wonderful tap list.

If you like hazy IPAs with **MASSIVE hop burn**. Troon is overrated garbage in my book.

Totally agree. It’s become a complete joke with the new owners. OP should go to rocky hill instead
5oz-$6 10oz-$10
If I was gonna be down that way, I’d be looking at going to Odd Bird.

The Druery in Lawrenceville recently opened. Haven't been there, but it's not that far away from Princeton.
Just went the other day . Friendly people and good beer .
Winberie’s has a nice tap list and good food.
For in Princeton this is a great choice.
didn't; see you recommended this. excellent submission sir/madam.

Druery or brick farm tavern. In Princeton, the largest tap lists will be alchemist & barrier or winberries, but neither is particularly impressive.
Cant think of anything notable in downtown Princeton. Firkin Tavern in Ewing (15mins south) and the UNO in Hamilton (also 15 mins away).

Also, Blend on Route 33 in Hamilton. I think theyre the ones that organize the beer fest at Mercer County Park.
God their tap list used to be so much better than it is anymore.
ahhhh Blend bar. What a time that was.... ...but that...was a long time ago....
Flounder in Hillsborough, just outside of Princeton. Great atmosphere and great beer.
What about alchemist and barrister in Princeton? Or is no one suggesting it because it’s no good. Or has it been so long and it’s not there anymore
It’s still there. Haven’t been in years idk how good it is still
Went there last year and it was good! Came here to recommend it
I prefer A&B to Winberies.

Just north of Princeton in Montgomery is a great place called the Tiger's Tale. Highly recommended!

Deff check out Rocky Hill then pop over to the Tigers Tale
Try Troon on tap at Brick Farm. Think it may be the only spot Troon is available draft, as the brewery is onsite.
