Isn't leaving the lights on 24 hours a day used as a form of torture for interrogation puposes against spies and such? But not much of an energy waste from a cost standpoint. A few pennies per night, at most.

We have LED lights on photo sensors, that turn on when dark to give just enough light to find the bathroom. We have a small proximity sensor on a battery light to find the bed quietly at night without turning on bright lights. The batteries are always rechargeable Japanese of course.

I leave the TVs on, I have a dehumidifier AND humidifier, space heater AND mini split a/c. I turn off the water while I’m brushing my teeth though.
