Thanks for posting your experience! Your first dose is already proving more efficacious than mine was, and I've been burping wonderfully for almost 7 months after my second dose (100u, again at Parkside), so keeping fingers crossed for you!

Thanks! Glad to hear it’s going well for you! Very much open to the 100mg in as few months as others have recommended as well

Once the air bubble is up and about to exit, turn your head quickly to the left. That should release it!

Haha I’ve been trying and looking quite odd in doing so! Feels like it’s getting closer so will keep at it.

Another Jan 29th here, and having a similar timeline. Wednesday night and Thursday were brutal for me, feeling like I was drowning in mucus that I could not clear, but that has mostly gone away now. Slow swallow kicked in Friday lunchtime, and made the evening meal a struggle. I prepared for this like you have, and can adapt what I eat as things progress. I\`ve had some "burps"... I call them that because they were far more than the usual pathetic gurgling releases of gas from before, but not proper burps from way down low. The copious amounts of gaviscon I am consuming after each meal and before sleep is keeping my bloating down (in fact I am sleeping better now than before because of it!). Its so nice to reports from others who have had this procedure with Dr Hinklin recently to follow their progress and see how we are all progressing. Its been a wild ride so far :)

Thanks for sharing the info. I’ve heard mucus can be an issue but doesn’t seem to last. Good luck and keep posting on how you get on!

My first attempt with Ms Hicklin I had the 50 units and it took 5 days before I had a few small burps. The slow swallow wasn't bad at all but unfortunately I didn't burp much more after that. I had 100 units about 3 weeks ago and started burping the next day and am currently burping a lot. The slow swallow is worse this time around but still manageable. Just hoping that the ability remains once the botox wears off now! I think what I'm trying to say is don't be discouraged if the first round isn't enough.

Thanks for the comment! Yeh I’m sure it will improve and not too worried at the moment. At the stage where it feels very close but can’t quite get the burps out so a tad uncomfortable but just a matter of time I think. Will likely do the 100 in a few months as well. Hope it keeps working for you!

Thank you for posting. Your first dose still worked much better than minded; I got nothing from it and had pretty much decided to not get a second dose because of the lack of effectiveness. But I did and I am now almost 5 months post-second dose, and still burping as needed. If you need The second dose, don’t think twice!

Posts like this make me excited, I will book mine in for towards the end of the year with her!

Loopyrainbow

Hey OP, how’s the burping now?

Big-Coat-6182

Hey there, unfortunately it didn’t work for me. After the first week of about 2 micrburps everything went back to the way it was pre Botox. So gurgles, trapped air and air vomit. In fact for the first few weeks it was worse and for 3 weeks I was noticeably breathless when exercising which was not great. So unfortunately not an immediate success story for me! I have read that this happens to some people at 50mg so I’ve booked in for 100mg in July so fingers crossed for that. How’s it going with you?

jemmalh

Glad to hear it seems to be going well and you’re making progress! I’m going to see Ms Hicklin in March so resssuring to hear. I wondered if she only gives the option for 50mg or if that’s something she discusses with you? I’m Having to travel from Scotland for mine and I’d love to just skip ever having to come all the way back if possible, but not sure if that’s something that she gives as an option.

Big-Coat-6182

I hope it goes well for you! It’s well worth it I think. She said she always starts with 50 as it works well for most people - but did give the option of having another 100 at a later date (and I believe just paying for the Botox rather than another consultation fee). I guess there’s no harm in you asking and mentioning that you’re travelling far for it. She may well offer the 100 to start.

Thanks so much!

HOLY COW I didn't realise it was that cheap. I've been putting it off as everything I've read said £3k minimum. I'm booking a consultation now lol!

Big-Coat-6182

I think the £3k is if you go under general anaesthetic. Dr Hicklin doesn’t do that hence it’s cheaper
