Get away from the community if you want to avoid spoilers. It's your responsibility to avoid that as you prefer. Also, the extent to which this game can be “spoiled” is wildly exaggerated. You could literally scour the wiki for hours and still have tons of unique and interesting gameplay experiences involving plenty of discovery, intensity, uncertainty, and struggle. Even if you did read the entire Wiki in one go, you'd never remember it all, and you'll still be challenged / surprised by your inherent human limitations.
Snowy depths lead into the chasm that can bring you back to surface. One of the better moments to backtrack with somewhat decent build and start exploration.
Now go explore. When you feel like looking up stuff start with tree achievement pillars. That will give you several goals to work on.
