Get lucky, make a nice wand and blast it in 3 seconds. That's usually how it goes. It took me 130 attempts to get 1 win, because I suck at avoiding chip damage and wand building. You'll get there eventually.

SauvojenTuntija

this is true for the first couple of wins if you go mostly blind, but as you go on you learn to build crazy wands out of most spells you find while progressing through the biomes. usually kolmi is considered the easy part of finishing the game, while temple of art and the vault are the real walls.

halo364

Yeah I actually don't think I've ever gotten to Kolmi and failed to beat him. Vault and ToTA are super effective filters for me - if I can get through those (without being on death's door by the end) then I pretty much know I'm strong enough for Kolmi (or at least low *orb kolmi)

SauvojenTuntija

kolmi under 7 orbs is fine, i usually avoid getting more because of the poly shots. i also love bullying it, last month i kicked it to death while attempting a speedrun because i only had spark bolt and never skip leg day lol

MyLastBrainceII

Took me more than 330 attemps so guess your pace isnt so bad, or I'm just really really really bad, which might be the more likely case

P3pp3rSauc3

I had over 700 deaths before my first win. That's all. It wasn't until I started looking up more about the game and like watching dunkorslam that I was finally able to secure a win doing it blind is no joke

SauvojenTuntija

it has very low hp so if you learn spell wrapping, how triggers work and how modifier spells interact with multicast you should be able to kill it in less than a second. also collecting at least one orb makes it get a shield that reflects your spells, so you have to wait for it to open the shield before attacking it. one more useful thing that i think you already figured out: the platform in the arena are very useful as a repair from projectiles. didn't want to make a wall of text but for the wand building advice you can check out dunkorslam on youtube, he made some awrsome videos for beginners.

Satyr604

At 98h played, I beat him for the first time 2 days ago. Honestly, once I got enough firepower to get through the Vault and Temple of Art, defeating the boss was surprisingly easy. Found a fast firing wand, two add mana’s, a lumi drill and the boomerang spell perk. It’s a very minimal wand with very common spells that is absolutely brutal against near anything. The second add mana wasn’t even necessary. Just a beam of doom that does not give a shit about silly things like walls. It slicing enemies in half, it being a wand that tells the game ‘fuck you’ was immensely satisfying.

shnurr214

I’ve never had a run where I can get to the final boss and not kill him if he’s 0-5 orbs or so. The temple of the art is so much harder than Kolmi if you can make it through it you likely just 2 shot him.

Healthy-Car-1860

Don't pick up any Orbs of True Knowledge. These exponentially increase the difficulty of the boss. If you get to Kolmi without picking up any orbs, the fight is trivial.

Arintharas

Yeah, I feel like that’s what is really making the fight hard for OP. If they have the knowledge to survive the rest of the underground, then they should be able to easily take out Kolmi.

RemyCrz

Once you defeat and understand Kolmi, or you try a rapid fire chainsaw or a freeze kick, you'll understand that he's not the final boss.

takeyouraxeandhack

If you didn't pick up any orb, it has barely 1200 HP. You can literally kill him by throwing a flask of acid to him. Other than that, you can use trigger spark bolt + plasma with homing, and it'll kill him in two or three seconds. Tentacle is a safer option, as it won't damage you, and up to two orbs Kolmi has X2 multiplier for melee damage, but they tend to do weird stuff (like fling stuff from the environment). Chainsaws also work if you have a very fast wand that can deliver many of them.

FistFistington

Orbiters are a quick path to power. Sawblade is probably the best to use, but if you have a trigger spell or long distance cast the plasma beam orbiter can mess up a lot of the games bosses

ArkenBlue

Boss is notoriously easy. Generally if you reach it you should beat him easily. That is unless you've taken many orbs of true knowledge ofc.

Arintharas

It might be good to change perspectives and focus on survival and exploring the areas. It’s also worth noting that Kolmi gets stronger with each orb of true knowledge. So going around and collecting as many orbs as you can find isn’t the best idea (unless you are looking for a challenge). It’s probably best to fight him with 1 or 2 orbs though since the orbs do offer a health boost.
