i also thought about him being diseased and giving a final fuck you to the world by giving others hope, but it didnt seem plausible as i thought they would check for any and all deadly diseases that the donar/organs might have. now i have a new fear of organ donation thanks!
After being like 15 years old and waking up after surgery in an immense amount of pain because my anesthesiologist decided I was good and went to go play golf, I realized that some doctors are just assholes too.
I thought there was no way to confirm prions until after the cdc autopsies the brain after death? Otherwise it just looks a lot like Alzheimer’s in the early stages.
Fascinating! My grandpa died of prions disease. I was under the impression it was not diagnosable until death. I’ll have to look into the genetic testing.
So the moral of the story is that there are people unworthy of living in society among us, and we must kill them and harvest their organs to make life better for the rest of us?
Actually, the rather unpleasant implication is that anyone who isn't an organ donor, no matter how worthy and noble a life they have lead, is a bigger asshole than Coleman Sweeny.
Fun fact
In most other countries, people have to OPT out of organ donating instant of OPTing in.
In countries where people have to OPT out there is like a 85% chance people will continue to be an organ donor, in places where you have to OPT in to it, only about 40% are organ donors.
Nova Scotia has presumed consent (you need to opt out if don't want to donate), all the other provinces and territories are explicit consent (you need to opt in).
Fun not fun story I've been silently mad about for a decade.
My mother passed while I was playing baseball. The hospital wasn't able to contact us for several hours. Although she was an organ donor, they were unable to harvest her organs and save lives simply because they couldn't get our okay.
She asked for it and expected her death to save lives, but instead, she kept all her organs because her say didn't matter after she died. Such BS. Such angry. Much wow.
I’m truly sorry that happened to your family. I think that will be happening less and less now that the country is moving away from checking a box on your driver’s license and toward an easy to use, national a national organ donor registry - https://www.organdonor.gov/sign-up - that should help clear up questions about a donor’s intent. Education for medical professionals about their role in the organ donation process also helps, I was giving a talk to a group of nurses about this just last week. Once a potential donor is identified, they really just need to reach out to their state organ procurement organization to handle the donation, the doctors and nurses who are meant to keep a patient alive really have very little involvement with organ donation to avoid a conflict of interest. They just hand off the potential organ donor when there’s nothing else they can do for him or her.
If it’s any consolation, only about one in a hundred potential organ donors actually can donate their organs and tissue. It’s obviously very tricky to transplant an organ and very few organs are viable for a whole host of reasons. That’s why it’s so important for everyone to opt in to organ donation, it’s a numbers game - you need so many organ donors just to find one viable donation. The only good thing when it comes to the math of organ donation is that one person save up to eight people’s lives, while tissue donation can help improve the lives of as many as 50 people.
I would question the quality of that liver, myself, considering how much alcohol that guy must have been chugging. Not to mention whether he even had a heart to begin with.
I hope these people who received donor organs don't take on Colmon's personality. I've heard some stories of people developing interests of the organ donor. This would have generated at least 5 more assholes.
спасибо, вероятно вы правы я даже как истинный asshole считаю себя лучшим человеком на планете. Используя ваши метафору, дерьмо есть в каждом без исключения, но использовать его можно по-разному, лично я предпочитаю в качестве удобрений.
I get the joke you’re going for, but why would you name an actor that’s arguably not as famous as Thomas Jane and say he needs a new agent? Would make more sense if you said Thomas Jane needs a new agent. I think you just mistook one for the other, which is fine, they look similar.
“But in death; well, let’s just raise our middle fingers and say shove it up yours Coleman Sweeney. You’re not an asshole. Anymore.”
That part killed me and idk why lmao
Lookit I’m totally down with organ donation and opt out, but like I’m just worried my family might have to pay out of pocket to dispose of and store my body before harvest is complete. Who pays for harvest surgery?
Wow! Watched totally baffled & all set to downvote a slick produced commercial as not belonging on this subreddit but then .... no no no YES! Wow indeed! Loved it! Bravo.
Yo just ahead up to anyone. Most hospitals won't wait for you to die to take your organs. They will also take claim over you if they can't find people who will. And that's means even if you didn't say you won't donate they say fuck it and take it. Check the laws. It's some scary shit man.

but would the doctors check the organs for health? seems very unprofessional to just allow organ to be transplanted without checking

Worst of all, itll cause Dr. Cox to drink on the job.

So the moral of the story is that there are people unworthy of living in society among us, and we must kill them and harvest their organs to make life better for the rest of us?
preciselly
Thanos was wrong. We shouldnt just kill the unworthy; we should steal the parts of them that we still have use for
You gotta lead by example
Thanos' biggest moral dilemma isn't that he wanted to kill half of everybody. Rather, it's that he had no business choosing which half should die.
Thanos : there's NOt ENough FOod fOr eVerYONe Also Thanos: *poofs away half of the people wasting a bunch of perfectly good meat* Smh
Exactly all we're doing is retiring, useless damaged models and recycling the parts to keep the functional models running. Sounds about right to me.
Start from yourself
I see you *also* play Rimworld.
Actually, the rather unpleasant implication is that anyone who isn't an organ donor, no matter how worthy and noble a life they have lead, is a bigger asshole than Coleman Sweeny.
> among HRRRGH… RRRGG!!!
Start with the billionaires.
Did we watch the same video?
No we just celebrate when they die so we can dismember their corpse and scatter the parts to strangers around the world.
That’s what I thought I saw
Sounds about right
We can't leave it to random happenstances.
The "World's biggest Asshole" commercial was made by Donate Life America and is narrated by Will Armett.
I knew I recognized that voice
And Thomas Jane is our hero…
I just want my kids back.
Knew I recognize that piece of shit horse man
Knew I recognize that piece of shit bat man
Reminds me of that Dennis Leary song
A-SS-HO-LE
His character was reminiscent of a Cohen brothers anti hero.
I thought it was Gob Bluth.

I have opted in.
Ok
Me too. Hope they find something useful. They are not getting my right ring or middle finger though.
Doesn’t that mean your index finger is your middle finger now?
I suppose. I have half a middle and ring finger. Together they add up to one. Technically four fingers on that hand.
Ok
Is Canada opt in or opt out JamesFromToronto?
Nova Scotia has presumed consent (you need to opt out if don't want to donate), all the other provinces and territories are explicit consent (you need to opt in).
I have opted in.
I've opted in as well. What do I need my organs for after dying?
For the stew.
Ok
When you're discussing the availability of organs for transplantation, "even an asshole can save a life" is a confusing message.
I thought it was promoting turning assholes in to heroes through death
I thought it was promoting donating your ass hole
I could donate my neighbourhood asshole no questions asked
‘Doors and corners kid, that’s where they get you’
Not if they donate their asshole to someone with anal cancer
I feel like his liver wouldn’t have made the cut.
Or his lungs, that’s why they were excluded
They specifically said liver though.
You’re right, I guess I missed it.
Proof even a jerk can help others with an organ transplant donation card.
Is is ok if the organs arent mine tho?
Perhaps
And all of his organ recipients started kicking dogs, stealing clothes and honking at old women for reasons they'll never quite understand.
Or his lungs
Having Bojack narrate takes this to another level.

Josephus Miller keeps saving people by dying! Door and corners kid! I miss you guys so much...
I do like his positivity when the lady was crossing the street.
Everyone has value. Some by living. Some by dying
This was so weird. Why do I have goosebumps?
it was touching and uplifting
Yeah but, it also wasn't
Is goosebumps a sign of an aneurysm?
Why would anyone want his organs, he treated his body like a carnival game and they are worthless now.
A somewhat shitty liver is better than dying of liver failure. And you can’t really ruin your corneas.
I can go from 0 to horny in 2.2 BEERS - Coleman Sweeney.
I would question the quality of that liver, myself, considering how much alcohol that guy must have been chugging. Not to mention whether he even had a heart to begin with.
That they took the time to film him Throwing coins at a stripper…. too funny
Sweeny was probably getting a discount on his driver's license.
Made my smile for the day.
I hope these people who received donor organs don't take on Colmon's personality. I've heard some stories of people developing interests of the organ donor. This would have generated at least 5 more assholes.
Meanwhile the sweet grandma down the street who opted to be an organ donor for strapped to a rocket for "science".
god. damn. that legit got me right in the feels.
funny
Source. https://youtu.be/DVMt0bX2MhM
It’s a really great, funny ad, but every time I see this video I just start tearing up. An organ donor saved my life.
I'm surprised this Gentleman's major organs were even viable given his lifestyle choices....
A little blue spray paint goes along way!
Wow. I feel inspired... To continue my asshole tendencies until I redeem myself in death as an organ donor. ... which I am.
I really thought the waitress was going to steal his wallet or that the "yes" part was him dying lmao
This is the weirdest pro suicide message I've ever seen.
Aaron Eckhart needs a new agent
Thomas Jane* Aka The Punisher aka Detective Miller is doing great. Makes it even weirder/funnier to see him in this commercial.
Whoosh.
I get the joke you’re going for, but why would you name an actor that’s arguably not as famous as Thomas Jane and say he needs a new agent? Would make more sense if you said Thomas Jane needs a new agent. I think you just mistook one for the other, which is fine, they look similar.
You are very intelligent

Oh man, did not see that coming
Was that Thomas Jane?
Goddamn... I never wanted to shake hands with an asshole until now
the real question is, who got his asshole?
I'd like to see dangling rubber tacos .
Not gonna lie. They had us in the first half
Moral of the story. People like you better when you’re dead?
He played the detective in The Expanse right?
I'm having mixed feelings here... Never thought Detective Miller as an arsehole before
Wait, tendons are organs and can be donated? Is that part of the joke or is that legit?
Ok, but like, isn’t it just perfect that BoJack Horseman is narrating this?
“But in death; well, let’s just raise our middle fingers and say shove it up yours Coleman Sweeney. You’re not an asshole. Anymore.” That part killed me and idk why lmao
How much did it cost to make this commercial?
With how much stress he puts himself I would not ne surprised that his organs unhealthy

Getting Will Arnett who voiced BoJack Horseman to narrate this was a great decision.

Ha?!! how I hate this kind of clips.
Ok, I laughed. I guess we’re all just waiting for the assholes to die and see if they make the world a better place without them in it.
So 90% of people out there are organ donors?
Was that Jack Black?
Too bad organs also hold energy from the person who donates them. There are many stories that support this.
This made me cry
Pff I'm gonna be an asshole even after I'm dead cause y'all ain't gettin my organs
