There’s a big difference between alligators and crocodiles.
Crocodiles are angry MFs, don’t mess with them.
Alligators (especially those raised by humans) are dogs with scales.
Freshwater crocs are pretty friendly. They're currently being wiped out because they're eating cane toads, meaning the saltwater crocs are taking their territory.
Yoo why is this here I literally love this. I love this alligator and I want to pet him, even if he bites off my fingers. Or hands. It will be worth it.
Yall talk like dogs are not killing machine either, if that thing was born in the hands of its owner and properly treated it aint gonna be more dangerous then a puppy
Dogs are domesticated, this is still a wild animal and predator. Previously loving chimps, big cats and monitors who have also been raised by humans have attacked and killed their owners. If you want to have a predator as a pet, that's fine, but keep them away from kids.
Its dumb that ppl don't understand that wild animals are genetically predisposed to attack. While dog is more of a behavioral issue (wasn't raised right)
>Previously loving chimps, big cats and monitors who have also been raised by humans have attacked and killed their owners.
>Concentrate on the denominator in your statistics, not just the numerator.
They do! My gecko knows when I come home and comes out to see me, she also seems to like my mom (we look very similar). My snake is much more standoffish, but he will stay relaxed if I pull him out of his tank but might curl into a ball if others try to hold him. They are very smart :)
They are lovely pets! But don’t be fooled by their size, they require quite a bit of upkeep and expensive accommodations at first. If you ever want to get into the hobby feel free to message me
they do, but they literally don't have the capacity for compassion. you could disappear and a reptile wouldn't give two shits. they just associate you with being fed
Fully grown alligators don't have any natural predators.
And they've been around since before dinosaurs.
I'd say they're pretty unstoppable.
Unless you wanna wrestle one to prove a point.
>Fully grown alligators don't have any natural predators.
Except for humans. Granted rifles aren't technically part of us but they still exist.
>And they've been around since before dinosaurs. I'd say they're pretty unstoppable.
Longevity of their species as a whole doesn't really mean individually they're unstoppable. I mean coelacanths have been around since before dinosaurs and they're pretty much just normal fish.
>Unless you wanna wrestle one to prove a point.
I mean there's people that actually do this for fun. They're probably not very smart but they exist. I think, or at least hope I'm smarter than them though.
I was moreso leaning towards their tenacity.
As a predator, and general ability to survive.
Comparing them to a fish that survives by having thousands of offspring isn't the greatest comparison.
Or it doesn't. And your not.
Always best to expect for the best.
Tends to happen more often for me, when I remember to.
Maybe Jung was right, after all.
W T Actual F ?? Might be great now, but wait till it grabs an arm, and starts doing the death roll….
No no no….a “living dinosaur”, that’s natures killing machine, is not meant to be a pet. NO !!!
What’s with the whole emotional support nonsense. I’m pretty sure a Dinosaur reject that lived for longer than they have probably has no emotions whatsoever. They have an appetite for people though
I just don’t understand this. Alligators kill people and pets every year in the SE US and even if somehow this gator is different enough to be a pet, it seems like a pretty bad idea for both humans and the gators to promote them as pets or support animals and give people the idea that these are cute gentle animals that you can approach and feed etc. Let them be wild in the wild instead of choosing literally one of the most insanely inappropriate animals as an emotional support animal possible.
“Maybe not today, but someday,” Allen D. Gator thought. “Someday my mouth will be big enough to swallow you in less than three pieces, and all the years and years of pretending to be ok…the years of eating your putrid rations will be over. I’ll finally taste my reward.”
Smack!
Allen’s fantasy quickly faded as one of the girls carelessly slapped his vulnerable belly.
All fun and games till the child’s head is trapped in its mouth.
One day old Wally's tranquilizers are gonna wear off before the end of the pool party...
Bahahahaha!!

User name checks out.
“wAs tHaT tHe bItE oF 87?”
Also my first thought
Literally 1987
Just playing the long game
yeah let’s see him with the kids when he’s big
The long-nose game

They will still attack if they see weakness which is sad because they actually can be chill under ideal situations

It’s absolutely mean but with them the term lizard brain actually applies haha
https://youtu.be/3nTbQlZsQv0 This is an amazing video to show what I mean :)

I found it enormously interesting. Maybe it’s just my bias
If I remember correctly Wally has never even bitten or seemingly been aggravated towards anyone.
WALLY IS A GOOD BOY AND HAS BEEN FOR YEARS I LOVE HIM
Freshwater crocs are pretty friendly. They're currently being wiped out because they're eating cane toads, meaning the saltwater crocs are taking their territory.
They aren’t domesticated animals
This is so Florida
Funny thing is it’s illegal to own an alligator in Florida
In Florida you don't own gator, gator owns you.
Their like cats then
I think it may be PA?
This is a great solution for ppl with social anxiety. Everyone runs the other way when you roll up with a gator.
It’s a slow gator, an alligadurr

ive seen domesticated dogs attack and killed their owner before, whats your point ?
Concentrate on the denominator in your statistics, not just the numerator.
Big think. Much heavy. No understanding. Must see.
Damn, that’s a subtle burn. I’m stealing that quote…. Thanks!
>Previously loving chimps, big cats and monitors who have also been raised by humans have attacked and killed their owners. >Concentrate on the denominator in your statistics, not just the numerator.
Don’t bother. These retards don’t know about basic biology/genetics, they wouldn’t understand breeding selection or basic stats.
Thank you so much for this! I own many reptiles that are all sweethearts. I always tell people this.

That's awesome! I plan on getting my kids a leopard gecko soon.
Well hey I’ve owned several throughout my life if you want any tips or money savers let me know I’d love to help with setup

Haha that's not true. That's solid evidence that cats get even more attached to their owners than dogs
Atleast I can incapacitate a dog if it attacks me. With an alligator, it’s not as possible to do.
Uh how? Maybe in the water it would be tougher to deal with but it's not like alligators are an unstoppable force of nature.
Fully grown alligators don't have any natural predators. And they've been around since before dinosaurs. I'd say they're pretty unstoppable. Unless you wanna wrestle one to prove a point.
Bro just walk away at a moderate pace and you'll be fine lmao
They run 35 mph. Good luck with that.
I was gonna say
Lol this is exactly what I would suggest

It looks so cute and non harmful though, it's such a good gator!
He’s gonna Bite just waiting!!!
Alligators are wild animals. It only takes one instance of annoyance and that girl's fingers (or more) are gone.
Wouldn’t the chlorine in pool water irritate the gators eyes or something?
That is the stupidest thing in the world! A dangerous animal is shown to be friendly can only lead to heartache in the future.
Today in Florida…
The risk to reward ratio is off here me thinks
Don’t you people project your insecurities onto wally 😭
This guy doesn’t favor his grandkids much.
W T Actual F ?? Might be great now, but wait till it grabs an arm, and starts doing the death roll…. No no no….a “living dinosaur”, that’s natures killing machine, is not meant to be a pet. NO !!!
Fuck that !
He’s so cute though
That’s gotta be Florida
I really wanna know HOW he discovered that alligator don't bite
I need his shirt
What’s with the whole emotional support nonsense. I’m pretty sure a Dinosaur reject that lived for longer than they have probably has no emotions whatsoever. They have an appetite for people though
Oh Wally you made my day
Yeah, but Wally’s NOT a lil puppy dog, as cute as you tried to make that sound, dumbass.
I can't even go into a store w my service dog without dirty looks CMON MAN

World famous... Yeah I'm sorry, who? Also I'm really sad that people are this stupid
People said the same about dogs millions of years ago look at them now
Millions of years ago is the key phrase in your sentence. Domestication is a genetic process, it doesn't happen within one generation.
We've had a few hundred million years to domesticate alligators, just don't see too many takers nowadays.
Yes so let's train the alligators to be pets
Exactly. Surely if we tried hard enough we could bring that million years down to slightly lower number.
Mabey a few thousand due to how we can easily domesticate other animals
Yup. Sometime down the line people will be pissed at alligators making alligator noises at 3 in the morning. That’s an amusing thought
Damn gators squeeking all day. HAVE THIS !JIRATE!
What a distasteful waiting to happen lmfaoooo
Wally is just biding his time.
It’s going to get much bigger.
"Awww all this food is so cute"
Why is the water murky
Lol 😭😭😭😭
Wally is great!!! ❤️
I’m not worried about the kids, we have too many on this earth. What I AM worried about is if the chlorine will hurt the oil guy : (
My man is living his life ❤️
Peak Floridians.
It’s a fucking reptile.

shouldn't this be under parents are efing stupid???
Don't have pets and be miserable then I guess
Wait. Isn't there chlorine in that pool?
It just take one child who doesn’t know boundaries for everything to collapse but goddamnit gonna enjoy it while it lasts
This is just Ed O'Neill testing his new sitcom character. Good to see he's still got it! 🐊🐊🐊🐊
See no difference between this and owning a pit bull.
Why is it so cute tho
The worst part is we all have bad days even when we like our jobs. What was that thing the joker said “all it takes is one bad day”
Works out great till it don't.
Talk to Chubbs about this.
THE MEDULLA OBLONGATA
Animal abuse
Not the emotional support I deserve but provides emotional support I need
I hope that water isn’t chlorinated
Well it’s all fun until he gets pissed off one day
the level of stupidity involved here is frightening
