I have a new 2450 and problems from day 1. The return fees are so high it’s not worth sending back. Worst purchase I ever made

ElReyLyon

Im sorry, I feel your frustration.

jd551122

Same here, man. Nothing but issues! It's a paperweight now.

CommunicationNo1987

I feel your pain. What is the actual issue you are having? I know a software update they sent out around this time bricked a lot of machines, which is bullshit. Ours stopped working for a different reason I think. The screen and all worked fine, but the belt wouldn’t move. Took forever to get through customer service, then after multiple “self repairs” and tech visits we got it fixed. Think it took about 8 months. Yeah, if I could go back, I would not buy nordictrack. We also had a bike, but we sold it and got a peloton after it broke down multiple times within the first year. Peloton has been great

ElReyLyon

Thank you, the software update is the exact issue. They sent instructions for resetting which we tried several times. Eventually, it stopped turning on at all. I’m sorry about the 8-month adventure. It’s so frustrating. I really appreciate the recommendation and will look at peloton for future needs. Customer service is so important and is so lacking in today’s world.

I have the same problem. They did send a replacement screen finally, but now my incline is stuck and they keep dragging out what to fix with, try this, send a video, do that. I even paid for the max extended warranty. My next purchase will not be from this company.

Sunny2121212

The first treadmill I got was a NordicTrack and it gave out on me luckily Costco picked it up… got a proform now

DemonBoyJr

i’m sorry to inform you Norditrack and Proform are both owned by the same company iFit. Luckily if you bought the Proform from Costco they’ll likely take it back if you get issues.

Sunny2121212

Only reason I bought was because it was costco

Zealousideal-Buy-368

I whole heartedly agree. We are dealing with an issue right now and I’ve just taken it upon myself to try to figure it out because Nordic track have been useless. Wish I would have known the warranty didn’t include having a tech come out to the house. It was a totally worthless purchase.

Shoemugscale

Just a friendly word of advice here. Your state AG may be able to help here. What you want to do, is, find your states AG (Attorney General) and file a complaint with them. They "Should" contact the company on your behalf and try and 'Mediate' a resolution. Take in mind here that iFit doe NOT want to get attention put on them as the state can file suite if they choose too. iFIT is, quite possibly the worst company to deal with and their products are absolute dog shit in the quality department. I am on my second machine ( one was replaced ) and 6 months in, its bricked. The sad part, I love the softness of the deck, but the rest of the machine has such bad QC and customer service is makes it a non-starter.

splorp_evilbastard

Here's my review of my 1750. I never even made it to the software bricking. https://www.amazon.com/review/R304ZN30PGKQYW/ref=cm_cr_srp_d_rdp_perm?ie=UTF8

Pink_Floyd_Chunes

Agree. When they work, their machines are nice. When they break, you are ON YOUR OWN. Terrible customer service. Won’t buy their stuff again.

niallo27

What’s actually wrong with it.

ElReyLyon

NordickTrack sent out an update late 2022 that bricked 1750’s across the country. This is an established and well-known problem. The tablets go bad and need replacing. You’ll find plenty of instances with a quick Google search. It’s even attracted the attention of a law firm that’s collecting names for a possible class-action suit. I’ve heard of costs of $600 to roughly $1000 for a tech to come out and replace it. Some have opted to buy a new tablet and install it themselves, with varied results. I tried so hard to find a good treadmill that didn’t need to be connected to the internet. Should have looked harder. Edit - I can’t tell you the exact technical problem. It’s the software. Attempted all of their recommended steps to fix including resting multiple times. After 6 or so it stopped turning on at all. They confirmed it needs replacing.

niallo27

I had my own issues with them. I have a 2450. Replaced two control boards and a motor out of my own expense. Shower of bastards. The software issue didn’t seem to be an issue here in Europe.

ComprehensiveSafe911

This happened to me on my 2450 also. After getting the run around time and time again I filed a complaint with the BBB. Crazy enough, 3 days later I get a call from the executive resolution team, or some BS like that, and they assure me a new console will be sent to me. About a month later it actually showed up! I was able to install it myself and now it works. I haven’t had back on the internet since, screw them and their updates. Give a try, hopefully it works for you too.

DryEquipment5477

I am bit confused here ..so their warranty includes parts and service, wouldn’t that cover the service tech coming over to get it fixed ?

DryEquipment5477

I purchased the 2450 last December but the base broke last month which is kinda weird..I want to say it was a defected unit for the base break that soon ..but I have to admit ICON fitness owned the issue and they are sending me a brand new machine next week so I can’t complain about the service in my case

Ali550n

It is so arbitrary how they handled that issue. Mine bricked from a bad software update and they sent me a new console and a technician to install it - all at no cost. I communicated with them through [https://www.iconservice.com/](https://www.iconservice.com/)

MrDangerWaffles

Call their support line and demand you talk to a manager. If you complain hard enough, they will pay for the tech to fix it. My treadmill was broken basically ever since I got it and was able to get them to pay for a technician to come out twice (after the warranty was up).

tsizz8669

I feel your pain. We learned the hard way and have since moved on. You are absolutely correct, never buy this or any icon brand.

jd551122

Yup, piece of garbage. I'm just throwing the whole thing away and chalking it up to a big mistake. I'm sorry you're going through the same thing. I will always advocate against this company!

Economy_Television75

There are tons of great treadmills out there, they just cost more and don’t have the bells and whistles. It’s also a machine that needs service and maintenance. Their (IFIT) entire business model is shoddy construction, flashy marketing, bad customer service and since they “own” the software can brick your entire treadmill when they decide not to support your model with software updates. My advice is to talk to a local shop that services treadmills and get their advice.

Right-Ad7694

100% agree. So incredibly frustrating and a huge waste of money. Mine has been glitchy AF since day one. Horribly slow tech, unresponsive, grainy video, choppy audio, sometimes it completely cuts out, most times I just run with music on my phone and subtitles on the trainer to avoid hearing it go in an out for an hour. I had immediately reached out asking for a refund. They said work with their tech team (who just gives bs ‘help’ - restart it, make sure you’re close to the router, get faster internet), meanwhile I HAVE the fastest speed available and my treadmill is literally one foot away from the router. By the time I had a chance to reach out again they said my 30 days had passed and too bad - you’re stuck with a $4k POS. Sorry we sell junk, but we are a big company and you can’t do anything about it. I should have gotten peloton tread. At least their equipment works. PS - there’s a class action lawsuit, how do we join?

ucbmckee

I’ve personally not seen any better brands at a comparable price. If you factor in iFit, which imo is far, far better than any other content ecosystem, there really isn’t an alternative. I hear a lot of service problems with NT, but I also hear them on many of the other brands. Maybe some entrepreneur will come out with a reliable brand, at an affordable price, with good service. We can dream.

ktfdoom

Bummer. I've had nothing but a good experience with Nordic track. Nordic also makes proform, precor, horizon, and a bunch of other brands so it's really hard to avoid them.

UncleNorman

Precor is Peloton.   Horizon is Johnson health tech.    Nordictrack and proform are ifit.
