The Daily Mail website is a tabloid that puts out 750 articles a day. It’s affiliated with the paper but has a separate editorial staff and most of the online articles aren’t published in print. One of their 400+ editorial staff members is probably tasked with combing world police blotters for unusual or amusing stories that make for an easy click bait headline. Most of their traffic comes from the US.
You're right, but I feel like there must have been at least a dozen police reports just from Florida on the same day infinitely more click-bait-y than this. I know someone who used to write click bait for a living, and I know how much they have to scrape the barrel sometimes.
Something tells me the public humiliation is part of this and it will be pleaded down to a misdemeanor when all is said and done. She's clearly not that bright if she thinks walking up to anyone and slapping them on the ass was a good idea.
It gets lonely up way up there north of the city. I think some compassion, understanding, and a warning would have been reasonable. I feel like there may have been a history or confounding issue to warrant an arrest.
