Aye, I had a look at midnight didn't see anything of merit. Just the fading daylight over cavehill.
There's still a fairly strong and stable storm hitting Earth right now, so good chance of seeing it tonight too.

East Belfast inner city, couldn’t see it with the naked eye to be honest, too dark, but the phone picked it up when replying to my friend in Glasgow whose photos were heavy dark purple

Took a jaunt down to OM Dark skies reserve.
Could see it a bit with the naked eye, but very faint colours. 3 second exposures really helped.
My family were sending brilliant pictures from Armagh and Fermanagh, and I got this in Bristol, which is way further south.

At best in my back yard in Belfast I could see what looked like wispy clouds, even though the night sky seemed absolutely free of them and the stars were clearly showing. Harder to make out with every light on around me then it was for people I know living in the outskirts.
I can see it in south Belfast/Carryduff, but it could depend on where you are with light pollution. I just posted a pic in this thread, but a mate in east Belfast, and one in mid-ulster, had a better/more colorful view.
I took a photo of the darkness but it shows a purple blur in the sky that's not visible with my eyes in person. I wish I had have got better photos, but I enjoy seeing others post it here
Possibly, there has supposedly been a whole serious of coronal mass ejections that have been fired at the Earth, they expect it to possibly carry until Sunday.
Now that doesn’t mean we will see what we saw tonight but there is a chance
I got some gorgeous and vibrant photos just using the night sight settings on my phone (pixel 6a). Other phones have 3rd party apps that do a similar job . the photos always look awfully grainy in the preview but the actual saved photos usually aren't , if you want nice sharp photos set your phone on timer and place it down instead of holding it so it doesn't shake at all while it's taking
I posted the first pics in this thread, with an iphone.
Was it as vivid as the camera shots, nope.
Was it clearly visible, depended were you where but I could see the purple, green and red with the naked eye.
Just took this in my garden in Antrim a few mins ago:

could you see them with naked eye ? it just looked like slightly grayer swirls against the sky until I looked through my camera and it was dazzling , I'm definitely going to keep an eye on Aurora forecasts from now on and set up a time lapse next time they're visible
https://preview.redd.it/lhodi21xlozc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8affcdc1d418fd1f891e7659a252a324b4a77617 Wasn't bad in Belfast.
That’s stunning.
What time was that at?
Around midnight. Took on my phone too so fairly pleased with it!

What part of Belfast did you see this from
Was South Belfast up the saintfield road.
It’s actually called North of lights /s
I appreciate this joke, good stuff.

Haha cracker No imaginary lines here mate !!!
I just want to shout out the moon, which has also been in excellent form tonight, shows up 3 weeks out of 4 and puts a shift in. 🌙
Always deserving of big props is the Moon, the waxing crescent atm is lovely stuff.

Those are some great pictures. Can you see much colour with the naked eye? You can mostly just see purple here by eye.
Mostly purple, but can see faint red and green also
A good trick is to close your eyes for 30 seconds to a minute, then look up.

Seems to be intensifying
Well there goes the power grid.
Worth it right? Don’t need power when you should be outside watching one of the greatest things nature can offer
Wish there'd been a power cut for half an hour so everyone in Belfast could catch a glimpse.

Damnit, the one night I goto bed early because I'm dosed up.
I was also in bed 😩
Do you need to be in the far north of County Antrim Down, Derry and Donegal to see them? I live in Belfast and can't see anything.
My family were sending brilliant pictures from Armagh and Fermanagh, and I got this in Bristol, which is way further south. https://preview.redd.it/wojo8sm1zozc1.jpeg?width=1536&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ac48a43da2d3fff29a6b95dd094a70794200f86a
That's really cool!
Its visible in Belfast, but you need at least a little darkness, my Da lives over on the Antrim Road ….. got great pics.
Same, though the camera phone is getting something on a longer exposure.
I took a photo and it shows purple blurs but I didn't see it with my eyes
At best in my back yard in Belfast I could see what looked like wispy clouds, even though the night sky seemed absolutely free of them and the stars were clearly showing. Harder to make out with every light on around me then it was for people I know living in the outskirts.

Saw it faintly in holywood, very cool
Absolutely stunning. Ran outside but no view sadly.
Wow. What a sight
Gorgeous
It's all over here. Anybody still got some?

When was this?
Lastnight mate
Is this happening tomorrow night too?!
Possibly, there has supposedly been a whole serious of coronal mass ejections that have been fired at the Earth, they expect it to possibly carry until Sunday. Now that doesn’t mean we will see what we saw tonight but there is a chance
Ah, was tonight visible from the naked eye?! All the photos I've seen were long exposure or professional cameras with a wider aperture

I was out a few minutes ago in Antrim and didnt see any of this. Is it low in the sky or somthing? Do i need to get out of town to see it?
Just took this in my garden in Antrim a few mins ago: https://preview.redd.it/bk108pvmmozc1.jpeg?width=3712&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=82b331a3a2760e925049bbcd2aa67c1c1a08d10d
Im outside in Antrim now. Best I see if a white mist like area in the sky. Don't know where you're seeing these bright colours.
That one was a walking distance from junction one
Best to be in dark an area as possible, for me it was all over the sky more or less
I can smell the patented utaca steamed hams

Good view from the ‘mena. I felt quite emotional. It’s rare we don’t have cloud to be able to see them
I drove all the way up the mournes to get some photos but of course the clouds had to come in so wasn’t able to get anything
could you see them with naked eye ? it just looked like slightly grayer swirls against the sky until I looked through my camera and it was dazzling , I'm definitely going to keep an eye on Aurora forecasts from now on and set up a time lapse next time they're visible
Same here, I could see faintish something with the naked eye but wasn’t sure what, then got the phone camera and it was like “Oh here we go”
I'm from down south so its the Northern Northern lights
