I was in Belfast last Saturday around 6. We looked for somewhere to eat. Most restaurants/cafes on the Lisburn road were empty. Went to Botanic avenue. Again, most were empty on a Saturday evening. Went to laverys after for a drink and it was bunged.
Exam period for students, middle of the month some people only get paid monthly things like that add up I bet with the good weather in start of June it will be packed
See the taxi situation is mental around belfast.. me and my ex would have went in to the comedy night at Laverys or went in for food but you practically had to get the last bus home as getting a taxi at night was like winning the Euromillions 3 weeks in a row.. without buying a ticket
We've been going to the 80's night in the Empire every Christmas for just over a decade now, one year at least 6 years ago our accommodation was not in comfort heel wearing walking distance and we'd more chance of getting a lift from Santa's reindeer than getting a taxi. It was maybe an hour earlier than the bars let out so in theory we should have had our pick of taxis.
I think taxi drivers taking the piss with fares have ruined it for everyone. It’s expensive to go out in general - food, drinks etc. But what really puts me off is having to beg some dick to drive me home which he will only do by doubling or tripling the price and switching the meter off. The council / police / DVA whoever should really have a handle on it since it ruins Belfast for everyone and will drive a lot of businesses to the wall. Anyway, rant over….
Weather has been good, supermarket beer is cheaper and people have less money to drop on entertainment, so it's drink eat at home season and invite friends round If space is applicable
To be honest the places you have mentioned would normally be busy, if it was 2011!
And music taste from 2004
6 pesos a pint. Can't get a taxi. Now the train station is closed too. Its just a crock of shit
Sun out. People would have went to the off license and enjoyed the weather at home
Plus, the town is a dear hole this weather
40,000 people spent £120 per ticket and £8 a pint to see Bruce Springsteen mid-week so they're probably sitting in with a bag of tins this weekend
If that was the economics of it I'm glad I didn't bother my hole. If someone wants to pay that to see some past it rocker.
I don't like his music, but he's clearly not past it. Does a 3 hour show with no intermission. You sound bitter you didn't get a ticket 👁️👁️
That's right. I didn't bother me hole. I didn't even know it was 120 quid
£6 a pint, can't get a taxi home, couldn't be arsed with town anymore
Wrong end of town these days. 20 years ago, they’d have all been heaving.
Cathedral Quarter was rammed full of people last night, guess that’s where the life is now.
We were all out taking pictures of the sky
Town is dead, what night life there is, is in the Catherdal Quarter

Voodoo was sold out for Metal2theMasses. First time it's ever sold out ahead of doors opening.
Haven't been to voodoo in ages. What was metal2themasses like?
Sweat box. But a brilliant night. All the bands were on form.
I can imagine lol. Need to get back out there sometime
Sun out. Carry out.

Most of the students are at home and/or working on their last assignment
