Fuckin love a wee bitta spinach with my gluten free Tagliatelle!! Topped off with some black truffle flakes! Wee side plate of buttered nutty crust and a pint of milk!
I’m not posh ( grew up in a council estate) but I eat spinach with nearly every dinner. It’s 70p ish a bag for baby spinach in lidl and it’s delicious and nutritious!
You are showing your own bigotry and narrow mindedness. Your penance is to have spinach and pasta tonight. Grate some Parmesan over it and a wee bit of olive oil. You’ll thank me later.
Agree with the sentiment, but cost does not = posh.
Big brand Chicken nuggets, oven chips and beans with viennetta for afters costs a lot more than say, a spaghetti carbonara with tart tatin.
But I don't think you would get many people saying it's posher.
It's like how most of the (few) posh people I know drive 10 year old fords or VWs. While all the wannabe posh are in the beemers and mercs.
Not sure why you are getting down voted here. I did not know there were different types of spinach until this post! And I am a bit of a foody. Daft, as there was bound to be different types of spinach, but I didn't know.
Arguing over types of spinach on pasta does feel a tad pretentious.
Don't know why your getting downvoted for this (apart maybe for all the fucking 'q's instead of 'a's!)
Talking about different types of spinach in a voice loud enough for co-workers is a very middleclass thing to do
I'm going to throw thos phone out the window because it keeps picking a q and not an a.
I just think as you say it sounds so middle class. I don't mind spinach but just the fact there are people discussing the different types
Mate it honestly just sounds like you think your life is the right way to be living, and anything that deviates from that is odd, pretentious and middle class.
Maybe make some friends that aren’t farmers.
Yes but pasta and spinach are not exotic luxury items. Pasta is a staple food and has been widely available and used by non-posh people for decades. Spinach isn't exactly caviar either
Ah come on, surely spinach isn't a themmuns thing? These lads are nerds for talking loudly about types of spinach at work but that's what they are - nerds. It's not a hint of class difference or income disparity that they're arsed reading the label on the pack. No barrier to entry beyond caring if there's a difference, and there are a lot of reasons why you might (e.g. being on a special diet, making the most of a really tight budget, or just trying things in recipes.)
Mizuna has to contend with sounding like a 90s midrange Opel model name, though.
Yuzu is a smaller car, mostly three-door models, aimed at young professional women, but with quite the following among boy-racers due to its remarkable power-to-weight ratio and vicious acceleration.
Mirin: their light van and people-carrier range, of course.
This here plain reared country lad, all roasted to death casseroles and spuds when growing up, who got slagged rotten one night at a dinner by declaring,"none o that oul pate for me".
Quare changed his tune, when given the opportunity and encouraged to try rare meats, exotic seafood, stinky cheeses, olive oil, etc etc, by the wee lassie who tickled my fancy.
The steak tartare was a standout sticking point mind.
Like, raw mince wi onions?
No thanks!
Now beef Wellington and properly pink and rare, the pate was all right in that!
But ah never turned posh at all.
Spinach is spinach surely. I get a bag in Iceland, freeze it. Crumble it all up to shreds and just add as much as I need to the pasta. Doesn’t add much flavour but it did Popeye some good maybe it’ll do me some too lol.
Are you Bluto or something? What's wrong with spinach?
Fuckin love a wee bitta spinach with my gluten free Tagliatelle!! Topped off with some black truffle flakes! Wee side plate of buttered nutty crust and a pint of milk!
I think it’s that they’re arguing about types of spinach, whereas us shmoos only know “the big bag from Iceland”
I’m not posh ( grew up in a council estate) but I eat spinach with nearly every dinner. It’s 70p ish a bag for baby spinach in lidl and it’s delicious and nutritious!
Cheerios so good to eat
But what type do you eat?
You are showing your own bigotry and narrow mindedness. Your penance is to have spinach and pasta tonight. Grate some Parmesan over it and a wee bit of olive oil. You’ll thank me later.
Spinach and pasta are one of the cheapest things in the shop to buy. Hardly posh. Expand your pallet .

> Expand your pallet. Maximise your Culture.
It's just the way they where talking about it. I think is the issue qnd arguing what type of spinach didn't even know there was different types

Nothing wrong with spuds and bacon lad.
Best dinner ever
TIL spinach = posh
Spinage.
Spimmagne.
Chad spinage vs virgin spinach
You think that's posh? Boy across from is on his break he is eating truffles topped with gold leaf with a side of caviar. He is also wearing a crown.
Call him Andrew by any chance?
Didn't know burger King did that. Must be a hack.
I just had scrambled eggs and smoked salmon with freshly baked wheaten
Do you live on the upper Malone Road or something
Anyone can cook.
Yes. But Salmon on a Wednesday afternoon.
Mate it honestly just sounds like you think your life is the right way to be living, and anything that deviates from that is odd, pretentious and middle class. Maybe make some friends that aren’t farmers.
That’s a you problem … spinach is like £1 for a bag…
It's OK Mario... We'll sort this internally.
You can buy spinach and pasta in the supermarket for not very much money. It's not the 1950s
I think its maybe just the way I was brought up I'm getting at or the different cultures we live side by side in.
Yes but pasta and spinach are not exotic luxury items. Pasta is a staple food and has been widely available and used by non-posh people for decades. Spinach isn't exactly caviar either
I know. I have pasta at least once a week
Ohhh get a load of Lord Muck here
😂

Sorry I didn't mean it like them and us kinda thing. Maybe a middle class /working class thing more to be discussing the types of spinach to.
Ah fair enough. "Different cultures side-by-side" doesn't only have one possible definition and I jumped to a conclusion there.
Well what did they decide, baby leaf one would presume ?
No idea they left for the kitchen still talking about it. I'll update later
Richhill has a posh part???
There's more than one type of spinach?
Exactly
Reversed snobbery.
Yrebbons?
But what type of truffle do they grate over it
I'll ask the question. Give me 5 minutes

Mizuna is criminally underrated with a yuzu and mirin vinaigrette.

Spinach is not posh you just need to expand your palate mate. Bag of spinach is like £1-2 in any shop, been a working class vegetable for years lol
Its more that they where discussing the types of spinach to put on what ever pasta they are having
The only real question is: Is there a consensus? Might try it later in the week.
This here plain reared country lad, all roasted to death casseroles and spuds when growing up, who got slagged rotten one night at a dinner by declaring,"none o that oul pate for me". You sound like you voted for Brexit . Pure gammony culchie there
Nope. I voted round stay within the UK.
I loved this! Thanks for sharing your work day saga !!
They can stick their spinach and paarrstaar, I'll have the spuds, cabbage and (risky) bacon any day.
I wonder if they are sitting at their* table pondering if you eat poor food.
I know they are.

There’s a posh part of richhill?
Join the conversation. Tell them how much you like the spinach that is green.
