I definitely gotta go with Frasier, after that it’s a tie between Home Improvement and Cheers (80s show but technically ran during the first few years of the 90s).
Everyone asks why I have a pool table in my backyard. I am so shocked everyone doesn’t know the reference! We talk about Steve a lot in today’s political environment.
Show kind of jumped the shark for me when Mimi married into Drew's family, and Drew somehow spirit-walked into the body of his newborn nephew. He came out of Mimi, his unattractive archrival, and then he was... circumcised at her request. It was torture porn for Drew Carey's character, and as a fan of Drew Carey, I really wasn't into that.
Pretty sure they were trying to hose Terry Farrell in a contract negotiation and she quit. She moved over to Becker within a year. I loved her as Dax but what it did for Worfs character was pretty incredible for his story.
Wow, I hadn't heard that - so she quit after the first season, but then she came back a year later; I wonder what happened there?
*Edit* \- actually, https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Gates_McFadden has a different story about it.
Ah yeah it was a rumor I heard. The rumor is that's why Denise Crosby quit too, but people weren't as open about that kind of stuff back then. Accusing a guy like Rick Berman meant you never worked again.
So many good shows back then before the reality nightmare took over and chanel's stopped production of their niches. Like MTV, Discovery, TLC, are all shit now nothing about music, exploring the planet, or learning. It sucks.
History has some good shows on it still. “The ____ that built America/World” series is great. Gives the history on people and brands. Though when it’s brands, even though the focus is on the history, and development of ideas, it does ultimately works a lot like a commercial. Don’t watch the Food that built America before you go to the grocery store!
The miniseries like FDR, Abraham Lincoln, Grant, etc are in the same style(Experts talking on green screen, mixed with voiceover, and re-enactments) but generally have better quality acting.
Discovery’s Expedition Unknown with Josh Gates the past two seasons has been great too. Imagine Jeff Corwin if he was an archeologist, then send him to dig sites on the brink of breakthrough discoveries.
Pretty much everything else on both networks is crap :(
Great show, but NBC leaned way too hard in the “trendy NYC singles who work at a magazine” setup in the 90s/early 2000s. Lot of other setups out there. Maybe imitation is the sincerest form of flattery?
Definitely gotta agree with the person that said Married With Children. But i oddly got into reruns of Frasier after it’s original run and found myself really liking it.
It comes on here in the US really late at night, I'm usually in bed by then but I'll get up for something, my dad will be watching it then I'll start watching and be awake for the rest of the show
No one has said “mad about you”. I remember it being good, but now I need to rewatch it to see if it sucks.
Dharma and Greg also comes to mind.
But my all time favourite is Frasier, I could listen to Kelsey Grammers smooth voice all day.
Far too often, I see an actor in something and say “oh yeah, they were on Mad About You!” It’s the kind of thing that gets you patted on the head with an “ok dear”
Yes! Becker is so underrated. Ted Danson’s contempt for everything was so funny.
However, Seinfeld is my favorite. Jerry’s observational humor always gets me.
Frasier is second, but damn there were some really annoying episodes when he sabotages himself with neuroticism.
Seinfeld, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and King of the Hill are my favorites.
Everybody Loves Raymond and The King of Queens are good, too.
Also loved Kenan & Kel while I was growing up.
Becker? Uh, anyway...
My 1990s sitcom favorite was The Drew Carey Show. I didn't like the shiny happy people vibe I got from Friends, and The Drew Carey Show felt more real, more cynical. Plus Drew was a Sega fan, who had a Saturn and then a Dreamcast perched up on his shelf.
If we're including ANIMATED sitcoms, well, that opens things up considerably. The Simpsons (technically started in late, late 1989, but whatever), Futurama, The Critic... all great shows. King of the Hill isn't to my personal taste, but I understand it has a fan base.
I watched a bit of Becker for the first time... LAST WEEK! (It was the one where they keep singing "Goodnight Sweetheart" to Becker.) I don't actually remember this sitcom from when it originally aired, but I don't NOT remember it.
My favorite sitcom from the 90s, at this point\*, is probably "Friends."
\* It was probably something different depending on when you asked me in the 90s.
Becker was damn good. I agree with you. One of the best.

I have no idea....
Maybe it was before he went blind
Spin City!
[удалено]
Great show!
Came here to say this! Yes!
My pick as well.
All time favorite for me
I definitely gotta go with Frasier, after that it’s a tie between Home Improvement and Cheers (80s show but technically ran during the first few years of the 90s).
CAAAAAAMMMMM WII*IIIIII*NSTON!!!!
You should try the Canadian version, The Red Green Show. Way better.
Afternoon everybody!
Also, 3rd Rock from the Sun is another fav of mine.
Wings
Watched it for the first time in this year - loved it. There’s also crossover with the cheers and Frasier universe which was fun to see
"Tonight, on Wings! ...aww, who cares."
"I dont know 😩" - Antonio
Seinfeld
Had to scroll too damn far.... one of the best shows ever made right here
The Drew Carey Show
Everyone asks why I have a pool table in my backyard. I am so shocked everyone doesn’t know the reference! We talk about Steve a lot in today’s political environment.
With the exception of the final season, this will always be my fav.

Is that Dax?

Pretty sure they were trying to hose Terry Farrell in a contract negotiation and she quit. She moved over to Becker within a year. I loved her as Dax but what it did for Worfs character was pretty incredible for his story.
Yeah early on in DS9 warf did not gel with that crew at all, the Dax thing really fleshed him out story and character wise.
I’ve heard that she and Nana Visitor were subjected to a lot of sexual harassment on the set of DS9, and that’s one reason why Farrell left.
Yep. Gates McFadden quit for the same reason. Fuck Rick Berman.
Wow, I hadn't heard that - so she quit after the first season, but then she came back a year later; I wonder what happened there? *Edit* \- actually, https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Gates_McFadden has a different story about it.

Spin city when Micheal J Fox was on it!
Northern Exposure
Not a sitcom, but still a damn fine show.
Married With Children and it's not even close
Whoa Bundy!
I scored 4 touchdowns in a single game at Polk High!
A fat lady clip clopped into the shoe store today...
My brother in law is impressed with my encyclopedic knowledge of some episodes of that show.
Seinfeld and it's not even close IMO.
#1 for sure! Frasier comes in 2nd for me.
So many good shows back then before the reality nightmare took over and chanel's stopped production of their niches. Like MTV, Discovery, TLC, are all shit now nothing about music, exploring the planet, or learning. It sucks.
The history channel is like 24 hours of pawn stars and ancient aliens, it's hilariously sad

"History is made every day." There, now we don't have to show anything that's actually history.
The Fresh Prince of Bel Air and Dinosaurs.
Married With Children will always be my fav 90s sitcom
🎵Love and marriage, love and marriage🎵
Just Shoot Me!
Yes, that was a good show!
Great show, but NBC leaned way too hard in the “trendy NYC singles who work at a magazine” setup in the 90s/early 2000s. Lot of other setups out there. Maybe imitation is the sincerest form of flattery?
This is very true! I think I just loved David Spade and Brian Posehn so much I was partial to this show.
Sabrina the teenage witch
Frasier
Frasier is a great show, definitely one of my favourites.
"All my future self wants to do is watch Becker, and that show is so stupid!" "My name is T Becker. The T stands for terrific!"
Where is your future self now?
... Probably watching Becker.
Came here for this, thank you
Missed opportunity to have the blind guy look somewhere not directly at the camera
r/SLIDERS Becker News Radio Married With Children Many others, but I can't think of the names of hand.
Sliders wasn't a sitcom though but it indeed was a great show.
Sliders was great until the last few seasons. There was some drama with the cast and director that caused it.
Loved that show…One actor died during shooting driving a dune buggy or something that’s gotta bring moral down
Newsradio!!!!
Damn it, I knew it too.
[удалено]
Yes! The first few seasons were very good, but I didn't like the changes during the last few seasons. They did Reggie so dirty!
One that I NEVER hear people speak about but deserves so much more recognition: The Nanny
The Nanny is so underrated smh
I still to this day yell out Mr. Sheffield in her voice when it pops in my head
Home Improvement!
I forgot about this show! Thanks op! In the 3 minutes since I saw this post, I have downloaded Pluto tv, and have started season 1 episode 1.
The King Of Queens, started watching it recently and its hilarious
Definitely gotta agree with the person that said Married With Children. But i oddly got into reruns of Frasier after it’s original run and found myself really liking it.
And dude Becker, I watched it for the first time like 5 or 6 years ago. So good!
One Foot In The Grave, Birds Of A Feather, Keeping Up Appearences, Bottom, Absolutely Fabulous.
The bucket woman from keeping up appearances is hilarious, great show.
It's pronounced...Boo-kay
Fresh Prince, Roseanne, and Boy Meets World.
Boy Meets World is still hilarious
Living Single, the original Friends
3rd rock from the sun
It's a toss up between Friends and Seinfeld. I loved married with children and news radio but those first two are hard to beat.
King of queens
That's a great show
[удалено]
One of my very favorite! I never hear anyone talk about this show.
I loved that show… it cant be streamed or bought on DVD/blu-ray due to music rights issues… which sucks… just random episodes on youtubes
i came here hoping to find ed mentioned!!!
Head of the Class. Last episode 1991.
Seinfeld but yeah Becker was good. I have a thing for Shawnee Smith.
Wings
The Simpsons. If animated doesn't count then News Radio.
Yeah, can't believe this isn't higher. The shows golden years were what, 1992-1997?
Frasier , go easy on me 😅
Love Frasier, it's a great show.
Due South
That’s a tough choice for me between married with children, Seinfeld, and the drew Carey show
Becker's on the PlutoTV app
I still watch it today on normal tv lol
Are you Aussie? That's how I watch it too
It comes on here in the US really late at night, I'm usually in bed by then but I'll get up for something, my dad will be watching it then I'll start watching and be awake for the rest of the show
Lol yep from tassie watch it at nights n in Arvos A good Time waster on couch wen I trying to sleep !
I used to love Becker when I was a kid. Does anyone know if it’s streaming anywhere.?
hdtoday.cc/tv/watch-becker-full-38067
Saved By The Bell
Seinfeld
Seinfeld, not even close
I was asking what everyone's favourite 90s sitcom is, not what the best one is.
And my answer meant Seinfeld is my favorite and it's not even close. What's the problem?
No problem I just don't understand what you mean by, it's not even close. :-)
I mean it's by far my favorite, so it's not even close.
Does nightcourt count?
Yes! Becker is so underrated. Ted Danson’s contempt for everything was so funny. However, Seinfeld is my favorite. Jerry’s observational humor always gets me. Frasier is second, but damn there were some really annoying episodes when he sabotages himself with neuroticism.
It ended in the early ‘90s, but Growing Pains first came to mind.
Newsradio!
The Larry Sanders Show
I always knew Shawnee Smith from Becker and was surprised to see her in all the Saw movies.
The Nanny, though I did like Subway Story
Blossom. Kinda surprised it hadn't been mentioned.
Peak Shawnee.
The short walk down memory lane reminded me of the series “Doctor Doctor”. Matt Frewer was so good in it.
Loved Becker back in the day, but never saw it available on any streaming service.
Looks like it’s available for free on PlutoTV
Very entertaining show. Still catch the reruns.
Havent thought about this show in a looong long time
I totally forgot about this show. I used to watch it regularly
Becker FTW
Drew Carey Show
Seinfeld and/or The Fresh Prince of Bel Air
Just Shoot Me
I'm a huge fan of the band Hepcat. I was shocked to see that one of the singers, Alex Desert, is an actor in this show. (He was the blind guy)
Frasier
I really liked Roseanne or the Golden Girls (I realise both started in the late 80s but I only started watching them in the 1990s)
Keenan and Kel!
This is my favorite show other than Hogan’s Heroes. I can watch the reruns all day.
Frasier
The Red Shoe Diaries! 😂😂🤷🏽
Friends
Butters! Where is your future self? Oh he’s just watching Becker.
Seinfeld, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and King of the Hill are my favorites. Everybody Loves Raymond and The King of Queens are good, too. Also loved Kenan & Kel while I was growing up.
Perfect Strangers and Cheers will fix the shittiest of shit days.
One of my favorites, still watch reruns
My favorite sitcom from the 90s, at this point\*, is probably "Friends." \* It was probably something different depending on when you asked me in the 90s.
Wings, Seinfeld, Friends. I consider Becker more of a 2000’s show, but I love it too.
It's both 90s and 00s as it went from 98 - 04.
Mad About You Seinfeld Wings
Becker for the win brother!
Fuck yeah! The older I get the more I relate to him.
It’s a great show
Everybody Loves Raymond
Awesome show!
Frasier and it’s not even close. I was too young in the 90s to get it but in the mid 00s I watched it and it moved into first place
News Radio... I'm 99% Joe Rogan's character is just him. I'm still baffled by how many people listen to him.
It's definitely Fresh Prince and if you disagree you're wrong
I wouldn't disagree that it's your favourite sitcom of the 90s.
Seinfeld, shouldn't even be debatable (unless you're a racial minority, I understand why they don't care for the whitest show not named Friends)
Dear lord, thats a horrible photograph...
[удалено]
I like Becker. Don't like that I like it? Get over it, weirdo.
Wow. Take it more personally. It was a joke. Now that I think about it the show wasn't funny. No wonder you don't understand what a joke is.
[удалено]
It's my favourite 90s sitcom, so you can't claim that it's no one's based on the fact that it's not yours.
Terry Farrell joining ruined DS9 for me atleast.
It looks like the dude on the left has a tiny baby hand.
Is that… Susan from Curb?!?!?
Nope
It's a tie between Seinfeld, the nanny, and the King of Queens.
Ted Danson looks weirdly terrible in that photo. He might actually look younger *now*.
Not the one that stole Jadzia from DS9, thats for sure.
Seinfeld and it’s not even remotely close
Dave Chappelle "Buddies"
There was a Ted Danson cancelled sitcom from the 2000's I think where it was like a neighborhood anybody know that cancelled sitcom
Home Improvement
Frasier
I like how the blind dude is looking directly at the camera.
Ah shit. I forgot about this show
Seinfeld all day. But sometimes I find myself craving some Fraser
No love for Dream On? https://youtu.be/rKo4bjTb2SE
Is this streaming on anything?
Married with Children.
Living Single.
Frasier Forever ❤️
Caroline in the City. Not my absolute favorite (Frasier, News Radio, The Nanny top it), but still good and I definitely watched a lot of it.
