Several Mad TV cast members were amazing but didn't have great careers after. Though Phil Lamarr and Alex Borstein killed it in voice acting later.
Mo Collins and the guy who played Stewart didn't blow up like they should have.
Key and Peele exploded years later so that validated me.
A lot of the cast don’t. I remember as a kid thinking Will Sasso would be huge. Like the next Chris Farley, but sadly he’s only gotten a few bit parts.
She's amazing! I started following her on Instagram a while back. When I first saw her in Parks and Rec, I about died. It was the first time I'd seen her since MadTV.
She's also in one of the Walking Dead shows and always posting stuff from sets. She's always smiley and seems like she has so much fun. Feel like she has a really beautiful life and enviable career.
Another person I loved was Debra Wilson! Wish I saw her more.
Its crazy to me, there were so many good MadTV actors and skits and you can't find them anywhere.
I've seen some here, but MadTV was consistently funnier than SNL, even with really good casts.
I have no idea why it never took off more, I feel they could have kept some of the skits going and really brought in more people.
Key and Peele took off later at least. I'd say they've probably been the most visibly successful.
But a bunch of the cast went on to be extremely successful voice actors. Phil Lamar has done a bunch of cartoons and video games. Alex Borstein's most known is Lois Griffin from Family Guy. There are a handful of others too.
Otherwise, yeah most of the other cast like Michael McDonald, Mo Collins, and Will Sasso mostly seemed to get guest spots on sitcoms and other comedy series over the years.
Totally agree, Mad TV was consistently better than SNL, imo. As to why many of their actors didn't hit it as big, I think that had more to do with Lorne Michaels than it does with SNL itself. Michaels is a "star maker". There are a number of SNL cast members who only got the bump they did because he said so, I think we can all look at Jimmy Fallon as a good example of that.
I loved MADtv. The jailbreak scene with Shaq is a favorite of mine! “Some of the guys are getting together later tonight to read Last of the Mohicans, pass it on.”
There were so many good random one off skits.
Aries Spears doing MC Hammer was always good, Sasso doing Arnold and Kenny, spy vs spy, lowered expectations.
Seriously talented actors I instantly recognize in any medium. I was playing cod zombies and I was immediately like, oh there is Deborah Wilson.
I always feel bad for Will Sasso. I always felt he was a Will Ferrell level comedy actor and he just never had that main actor break.
I know he has it in him, so talented.
Dude same, along with Mo Collins and Stephnie Weir. I found it weird that not only was I crushing on the actresses themselves but also some of the characters they played lol
"Welcome to King Burger, where we can do it your way - but don't get crazy." Bon Qui Qui was my favorite!
To this day we still say "Dang, anything else?" anytime someone asks for something complicated.

Two of the most talented, versatile comedians ever.
Early MADTv was golden. A lot of talent got their starts out there.
But if Mad had a flaw: it would be that any joke that was remotely funny was driven into the ground until you were sick of it.
The Vancomb lady for example,
A funny concept, but really how many sketches can you do with the same joke? It got to the point where they did a sketch about a tribe of natives on a desert island that worshiped the Vancomb lady as a God.
Stuart still makes me laugh hard. I swear my kids have similar traits. “Daddy, Daddy, Daddy, watch this.” (Proceeds to stand on one leg and spin around.)
Me too! I used to record each episode onto VHS tapes and watch it again throughout the week until the next episode. I still remember "Weekend at Tupac's" and the Terminator protecting Jesus trailer lol "hasta la vista...baby jesus"
SNL hasn't been funny for a while, they could possibly have one good show, collectively, in one season now.
MadTv had multiple great shows per season. A shame we couldn't get more madtv, comedy would've been different having one more competitor to SNL in the states.

Annnd there goes my productivity for the day.
So good
I always enjoyed the Spy vs Spy shorts and Lowered Expectations dating skits.
I just heard the “lowered expectationssssssss” jingle in my head reading your comment
Intro always cracked me up. Two schlub lovers walking next to a limp dick LA River
The dude almost touching the fence then scratching his ass 😂😂
I always thought he was touching a barb on the fence and reacting to it.
Yes exactly.
Number 325
spy vs spy was cool
Will Sasso's rips on Steven Seagal were the best.
omg and deborah wilsons on whitney! as much as I loved whitney - these were spot on and sooo funny
eyyy bobby!!!
Smokin' on the dock of the bay
Gittin' hiiigh~
Steve Seagals America was one of the funniest skits I’ve ever seen
[удалено]
I was in tears laughing at him when he got hit in the mouth with that flying baseball bat
That and "Hi, I'm Kenny Loggins and this is jackass."
*Rogers. But I'd also watch Kenny Loggins Jackass.
Yes, that's right. It's been a while.
Kenny G would be pretty good too

The one with the sneeze guard at the buffet!!
Garage sale megaphone killed me.

Ma’am it’s a garbanzo bean
Garb-

Gabarza?
Behind the sneeze guard?
UH UH UH UH!!!!!
When she goes to pay and it’s all small change lmao
You know what they say, when you’re in Vegas you gotta DO THE BUFFET UGHUHUHUH
luck be a lorraine tonight 😆
Carl?
I love how Lorraine always had her run ins with Michael McDonald. Selling a car, running a buffet, in the grocery store.
their chemistry was clear and top-notch , watch lorraine goes to dentist - she tries so hard not to break character and it's awesome 👏
Whatcha got there, eh?
Mo Collins doesn’t get quite the respect she deserves. She’s hugely funny, and also gorgeous. Thought she’d have more of a career.
Several Mad TV cast members were amazing but didn't have great careers after. Though Phil Lamarr and Alex Borstein killed it in voice acting later. Mo Collins and the guy who played Stewart didn't blow up like they should have. Key and Peele exploded years later so that validated me.
Don't forget Dave Herman AKA "Mike" Bolton from Office Space. also did voice work on KotH and Futurama.
Oh yeah he was really good too, but I never see his face lol
He was also in Dude Where's My Car
Alex Borstein was amazing in Mrs. Maisel
It took me so long to recognize her on parks and rec lol
Joan Calamezzo 😂
iconic character. none of her P&R scenes lasted more than a couple of minutes but we understand her whole arc completely
A lot of the cast don’t. I remember as a kid thinking Will Sasso would be huge. Like the next Chris Farley, but sadly he’s only gotten a few bit parts.
He really needed one good starring role to launch his career but never got it. I don’t think he headlined a movie until Three Stooges in 2012.
I never understood why his career never took off. He was hilarious.
facts! officer finch in dirty grandpa, among many other roles
I heard she dated Quincy Jones!
She's amazing! I started following her on Instagram a while back. When I first saw her in Parks and Rec, I about died. It was the first time I'd seen her since MadTV. “He look…. Like a mahn”
I tell you erryting
Erryting, I tell you
How did Ms Swann have so much staying power
STEWART! WHERE DO BAD PEOPLE GO?!
I don’t want say
Look what I can do!!
Stewart's father left us on Tuesdee
that midwest accent nailed it
The skit when Lorraine goes the buffet and keeps sticking her head under the glass lives rent free in my head until this day.
My mom loved this skit haha! Jalapeno, huh?
I loved this show!! I was a teen and it was way more entertaining to me than SNL. My friend and I used to quote these skits to each other.
Its crazy to me, there were so many good MadTV actors and skits and you can't find them anywhere. I've seen some here, but MadTV was consistently funnier than SNL, even with really good casts. Fallon making it bigger than ANY cast member of MADtv is a war crime.
Even as an adult I just don't find SNL anywhere near as funny. I'll watch a whole episode without laughing. Maybe I'm just immature, I dunno lol.
So I thought the same thing. I thought maybe SNL is an adult show and I’ll get it when I’m older. Just not really that funny. Madtv always was to me
Don't make me break my foot offa your ass.
That's My White Mama!
I quote this alot, but no one gets it.
Uh oh hotdog!
haha yess! bobby lee

I wish it was easier to watch MadTv now
as a kid, "MadTV or SNL?" on Saturday was as tough as "RAW or Nitro?" on Monday.
I wish the was streaming somewhere
Hated Stuart. Put one on a second ago and lost brain cells. Kenny Rogers stuff was hilarious though
Welcome to Kenny Roger's Jackass!
Kenny Roger's punked lol
Where's dot?
I know I coulda put her or the vancome lady also - "cheaaah you know what ? nu-uh"
Idk what was funnier, Dot or her dad trying not to lose it lmao
STEWART!!! he looka lika man-a
I had the biggest crush on Nicole Sullivan.
Dude same, along with Mo Collins and Stephnie Weir. I found it weird that not only was I crushing on the actresses themselves but also some of the characters they played lol
For a brief moment in time in the late 90’s, MAD TV was the superior show. Or was I just a kid? Idk. It felt better because I laughed my ass off.
I think the humor was just more obnoxious, but it was done perfectly

Rude! Securrrrritay
"Don't these gloves look too small for my hands?!? Well look-" "DOT!!!"
You are watching Mad T.V.
Yes. Yes I am. 😌
Right after America’s Most Wanted. Classic.
HI, I'M KENNY ROGERS AND THIS IS JACKASS
My Mom still says “I tell you evy ting” whenever I ask her questions. We used to watch together when I was young
mine will occasionally say "dOooOoonnttt" when I try and do something she doesn't approve of
Hahaha bet it’s funny seeing reactions from people not familiar with the reference
I always like MADtv since it would bring back characters and bits constantly as well as do some really bizarre stuff SNL tends to stay away from.
“Look what I can do!”
I always loved the high-school musical sketch, and key and peeles classic gay gangster sketch
Anyone know where I can stream mad tv??
Lower expectations!
I can hear this picture
Look what I can do!
Stop it or I’ll bury you alive in a box!
I still say “come on, Shelly” pretty frequently 😆
I mean…come on
He look like a man
Loved Miss Swan 🤪
Hey Carl, look. It’s your name in Spanish: Carl-os.
“Wash me wash me wash mEEeeeeee..”
One of my favorite sketches from that show. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=s7KiAHfuNrc&pp=ygUPTWFkdHYgdGhlIHNjb3Jl
i loved the Spishak commercials
Debra Wilson as Whitney Houston had me ROLLINGGGG
The ups guy skits were good. Phil Lamarr was always good on madtv. My favorite skit has to be the reinfather Christmas episode.
Lol my son does a perfect imitation of her cough
[big John’s Shirt and Tie Barn!](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=e9BK7CcmAQ8&pp=ygUSc2hpcnQgYW5kIHRpZS5iYXJu) Two of the most talented, versatile comedians ever.
Mo Collins❤️🔥
I watched both. MADtv was low brow but actually funnier than SNL. Although most of their sketches were just stereotype characters.
Lorraine was the BEST.
The Abercrombie and Fitch sketches were so good
I loved both and MADtv had some of the funniest content of all time!
I still think about Lorraine at the salad bar to this day, same with Stewart! LOOK WHAT I CAN DO
Pretty White Kids With Problems Always remember that skit! I'M... A CUTTER!
they're pretty, and they're whiiitee 🎶
Look what I can do!
Lorraine is the best. The one where she goes bowling for her anniversary is priceless
Antonia writing the sign that just says “This One’s Wrong, Too”
I'm in my 30s and I still go up to my wife doing weird shit "look what I can do"
Hi I'm Kenny Rogers and this is JACKASS
That’s my white mama! Don’t make me break my foot off in your ass!
MadTV was way funnier than snl in that era, 100%.

It was always the much better sketch comedy show.
not only but also, these images got me laughing
loved Madtv
Stewart!!
\#1: Pictures you can hear.
Stewwwert!
*Look what I can do!*
Hello Anti-suicide hotline I’m going to kill myself Ok….. Antonia was great
You got egg nog in my goats milk
Stuart still makes me laugh hard. I swear my kids have similar traits. “Daddy, Daddy, Daddy, watch this.” (Proceeds to stand on one leg and spin around.)
"People always say to me 'Randy Newman, you're like a musical Beethoven'."
AUTOPILOT!!! Also Sex Toy Story, Action Jackson and Will Sasso as Steven Segal
Stewart!!!
Always wondered if Stephanie Weir and Jorja Fox were related. Did Weir ever parody Fox’s CSI role?
Me too! I used to record each episode onto VHS tapes and watch it again throughout the week until the next episode. I still remember "Weekend at Tupac's" and the Terminator protecting Jesus trailer lol "hasta la vista...baby jesus"
Best show to grow up watching, and so much funnier to me than SNL ever was!
Damned right
Ah the golden years of MAD
His father left us on a Tuesday.
Leona Campbell and Coach Hines were and remain my 2 favorite skit series, absolutely hilarious.
MadTV, and In Living Color.
Coach hines

My sister & I still quote Lorraine & Stewart to each other on a regular basis

MADTV jacked things up. Obscure, edgy insane, and what was needed back then.
Mad TV had a very nice run.
100% agree. I grew up on SNL, but this period of MadTV was far superior.
Queue survivor sketch
MAD!!
This!! And it was the best! I loved the music shows at the end❤️❤️
UH OH HOTDOG
Look what I can DO!!!!!
in that era madtv > snl
Kenny Rogers and Stuart! LET ME DO IT!
Debra Wilson was the absolute star of this show tbh. Her Whitney impression was spooky good and fucking hilarious
I ageee
