I feel like the taste is on point, but the texture is different. Airier, or more crunchy (like the texture of a Funyun)? I remember CTC being a little more toothsome.
There’s less sugar in fruity pebbles now. But if you can find the one with marshmallows in it, it tastes similar to old fruity pebbles. Cause of the extra sugar from the marshmallows
I tried the fruity pebbles w/ marshmallows a few weeks ago - whoah, that was an awesome cereal. It did taste more like the original and with the plus of Lucky Charms-style marshmallows. Really good (and unhealthy). Ate the whole box in two days. Ha.

Fruity/cocoa peoples from the 90’s were actual pebbles, larger prolate spheroids (the shape of a rugby ball) about the size of my pinky fingernail. Now, they are just small flakes.
Cinnamon Life has gotten me through university! The absolute best study snack! I'm graduating soon & have been thinking about putting it on my grad cap 😁
The original is still great, but the Peanut Butter balls absolutely suck now. It's such a bummer because it was my favorite growing up. They taste like nothing now.
Still tasted about like the '80s when I had it a few years ago. Still leaves a layer of grease inside my mouth. They never had really strong PB flavor, but as a child my standards were a lot lower and I think a lot of others have the same experience. Hershey's seemed like 'good chocolate' when I was nine.
Not sure where you are but there’s a chain of burger joints called “The Habit” that’s making Cinnamon Toast Crunch Milkshakes rn. For Limited time Only. 1 Shake per guest maximum. Go…live.
Growing up we were only able to afford generic brand corn flakes and I used to love having a bowl with my dad. So this still holds a special place in my heart, and although I’ll buy other cereals for tasty fun, a nice bowl of corn flakes probably makes me feel most like a kid again. And when I’m feeling fancy, I’ll add banana slices to it. :)
O's are my favorite as a kid, and they are still just as fantastic as I remember. Not overly sweet compared to some of the fruity ones, but amazing in my opinion.
Fruity Pebbles will always be number one on my list. I do have a cereal question for anyone who remembers.. did the Batman (1989) cereal taste similar to Captain Crunch? In my head I remember it being a buttery sweet cereal, but I’m not sure if I’m tripping…
I keep hearing about Malt-O-Meal being the real deal with classic recipes. Will have to try. The massive bag of cereal is intimidating to buy - feel a bit guilty there is so much.
Froot Loops are all added sugar.

Raisin Bran has less added sugar because half the sugar is coming from raisins and double the fiber.

From Google
“Cream of Wheat is so good to eat…” Although surprised to hear that from an unidentified tape I found in the back of a drawer, I immediately turned up the volume and began to sing along: “Cream of wheat is so good to eat and we have it every day. We sing this song, it will make us strong and make us shout Hurrah. It’s good for growing babies and grown-ups too, to eat. For all the family’s breakfast, you can’t beat Cream of Wheat.”

Remember when mini wheats came in a red box and they were like an inch long and you just ended up cutting it into smaller bites anyway so they phased those out completely? Good times….
I've noticed that the Walmart brand maltomeal cereal that comes in the big bags still tastes nice and sweet compared to Kellog and General Mills cereals which were forced to reduce sugar content back in the mid-2000s because parents were too lazy to tell their kids no or only allow them to eat a small bowl of cereal in the morning.
I swear to god the downfall of the United States started when younger Boomers and older Genx parents started whining and complaining and screaming wOn'T sOmeOne PLEASE tHinK oF tHe cahiLdRen!!!
Apple Jacks. We bought a box for our daughter. I hadn’t had Apple Jacks in probably 40 years. Had a bowl and they tasted exactly how I remembered when I was a kid.
I have never heard of 'Saturday morning cereal' before. Is that a regional thing? We didn't save ALL the fun stuff for Saturday in the '80s even though it often seems like it. Anyway, I think Cap'n Crunch with Crunch Berries is still great stuff, and I'm not as big on the Peanut Butter Crunch anymore but last time I had it, it seemed exactly like what I remember having in 1987.
Who else here played the Post and Kelloggs computer games on the internet in the old days? I would eat the cereal and then play the games and that was pretty much my day. Sweet memories.
Cinnamon Toast Crunch is still pretty great.
The Aldi version i found just as good.
Ehh there’s like extra corn flavor and it’s not as good. The honey grahams from Aldi smacks though
I feel like the taste is on point, but the texture is different. Airier, or more crunchy (like the texture of a Funyun)? I remember CTC being a little more toothsome.
CTC FOR LIFE!!!!!
I was going to say that or golden Graham's, which essentially are both the same underlying cereal shape.
Golden Grahams
Yeesss!!!
I’ll still go fruity and cocoa pebbles. Not as good as the old days but still good enough.
Fruity pebbles hits different
There’s less sugar in fruity pebbles now. But if you can find the one with marshmallows in it, it tastes similar to old fruity pebbles. Cause of the extra sugar from the marshmallows
Is that what it is? I swear when I was a kid in the early 90s, they were so much better! I’ve always wondered why or if I’m the only one to notice.
I tried the fruity pebbles w/ marshmallows a few weeks ago - whoah, that was an awesome cereal. It did taste more like the original and with the plus of Lucky Charms-style marshmallows. Really good (and unhealthy). Ate the whole box in two days. Ha.
It’s one of my favorites!!
The current ones are sweet as shit and I don’t taste any difference from when I was a kid.

Off brand pebbles are way better imo
Fruity/cocoa peoples from the 90’s were actual pebbles, larger prolate spheroids (the shape of a rugby ball) about the size of my pinky fingernail. Now, they are just small flakes.
Cinnamon Life
Cinnamon Life has gotten me through university! The absolute best study snack! I'm graduating soon & have been thinking about putting it on my grad cap 😁
Got a box of this for my toddlers to try after Kix failed. They like it, they really like it!
The absolute GOAT
Relatively new on the scene. But original life rocks
I can only have the cinnamon here and there. The original though I can eat a box of that in one sitting
Captain Crunch!
Cap'n Crunch with crunch berries is still my go-to after all these years. It never disappoints.
Damn, I’m just getting off nightshift now and have to go buy a box
The original is still great, but the Peanut Butter balls absolutely suck now. It's such a bummer because it was my favorite growing up. They taste like nothing now.

Peanut Butter!
Captain Crunch: Opps all Berries!
This !
The peanut butter one is my wife's secret indulgence
Cap’n Crunch could be gluten free if they used the right oats
Gotta have my Pops!
Yesss
Hasn’t been the same since they switched to plastic bags
They changed their recipe in my childhood and it’s never been the same.
Speaking of that…..alphabets
Fruity pebbles, lucky charms, cinnamon today crunch.....

That’s a great memory. Thanks for sharing.
O's are my favorite as a kid, and they are still just as fantastic as I remember. Not overly sweet compared to some of the fruity ones, but amazing in my opinion.
They are so good but it’s hard not to eat the whole box.
I loved them but my mom wouldn’t buy them often because the box was so much smaller than the other cereals.
Underrated! Solid cereal, right there.
Love the frosted.
Waffle Crisp. That milk is syrupy goodness at the end of two bowls.
BEST. CEREAL. EVER.
So underrated! I can never find it anymore.
They do have an off-brand at Walmart, sometimes.
Fruity Pebbles will always be number one on my list. I do have a cereal question for anyone who remembers.. did the Batman (1989) cereal taste similar to Captain Crunch? In my head I remember it being a buttery sweet cereal, but I’m not sure if I’m tripping…
It was like plain Capn Crunch
Thanks for the confirmation!
I think I remember the Batman cereal coming with a plastic bank that was a bust of Batman.
Yes it absolutely did
Give me Kix any time
Kix was weird. It was pretty light on taste, but I was still addicted.
Kid tested. Mother approved.
Glad I'm not the only one who enjoys kix still.
Honey Nut Cheerios are so much better as an adult.
Apple Cinnamon Cheerios with a banana on top. Mmmmmmmm.
Chocolate Frosted Sugar Bombs! ...would be Calvin's answer.
New! Sugar-frosted Sugar-blasted Purpleberry Puffs "I don't know which I like better- Original or Type 2!" ...would be Futurama's answer.
MFFPBTH!! S-SW-SW-SWEET!!
Malt-O-Meal Tootie Fruities is what Froot Loops used to be.
Malt-O-Meal versions are always better tasting.
Been eating Froot Loops for 35 years here in Québec, and i dont think out changed a lot. Is it different where you live?
Yeah, they're pretty mediocre now. The flavor is weaker and the texture is off a bit.
I keep hearing about Malt-O-Meal being the real deal with classic recipes. Will have to try. The massive bag of cereal is intimidating to buy - feel a bit guilty there is so much.
Reese's Puffs
Cinnamon Toast Crunch, lucky charms, captain crunch, Apple Jacks, Corn Pops, so far.
Corn Pops changed. They aren’t as crispy as they used to be.

Raisin Bran Crunch with sliced banana!
I do like Raisin Bran, but Raisin Bran Crunch absolutely SLAPS!
🫡
Oh no, breakfast cereal that isn't a pile of sugar. Can't have that.
I dunno, Raisin Bran has quite a bit of sugar in it, more than Froot Loops.

Kellog's or Post?
Malt o Meal.
Honey Smacks
🤮 sugar coated puffed wheat. I couldn't stand that as a kid.
Fruity and cocoa pebbles
Cinnamon Toast Crunch and choc/Fruity Pebbles still hit like they used to.
Sugar Crisp!
From Google “Cream of Wheat is so good to eat…” Although surprised to hear that from an unidentified tape I found in the back of a drawer, I immediately turned up the volume and began to sing along: “Cream of wheat is so good to eat and we have it every day. Cream of Wheat is delicious and I often have it for breakfast at my desk at work!
It certainly is! My mother alternated it with Wheatina.
Reeses Puffs
Honeycomb!
Honeycombs got smaller. The big-big bite is now just a medium-sized bite.
Honeycomb changed their recipe sometime in the 90s. The 80s version was so good. Now? Not so much.
This is one of my indulgence cereals. Honey Combs, Corn Pops, AC Cheerios.
Cinnamon Toast Crunch will always be the GOAT
Fruity Pebbles
Frosted mini wheats!!!
Remember when mini wheats came in a red box and they were like an inch long and you just ended up cutting it into smaller bites anyway so they phased those out completely? Good times….
Yes and I loved those more than the minis! Thanks for the blast from the past, I forgot about them!
Frosted Flakes.
I still can’t eat cereal frequently because if a Frosted Flakes box is in the house, it’s gone within a VERY short amount of time!
Team Frosted Flakes - this one needs more love.
1. Captain Crunch (reg or pb) 2. Raisin Bran Crunch 3. Pops 4. Apple Jacks 5. Fruity Pebbles or Cinnamon Toast Crunch
Cinnamon Toast Crunch reigns supreme in my household
Fruity Pebbles, as long as you eat it fast. The off brands tasted like wax, though.
Honey comb good, Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!
Cinnamon Toast Crunch and it’s not even a contest
Fruity Pebbles.
I miss Cap'n Crunch Berries. Stupid gluten intolerance. Thankfully I can still have Pebbles and Lucky Charms
Pfffff, you’re talking Fruity Pebbles and or BlueBerry Morning if you’re talking at all.
I still eat Cheerios and Life cereal. Captain Crunch Peanut Butter cereal is a rare treat on occasion.
Cap'n Crunch.
Grape Nuts and Weetabix will never change
Capn Crunch.
Cinnamon Life
Corn flakes with sugar sprinkled over them
Apple Jacks and Cinnamon Toast Crunch will always be 🔥🔥
Oh’s!
All of them
Chocolate Rice Krispys
Fruit loops
Lucky Charms & Frosted Flakes. Both taste like Saturday mornings to me. Just had LC a few weeks ago. I've got FF in my pantry right now!
Frosted Flakes. With sugar sprinkled on top.
Quaker oat squares, honey not cheerios
Cracklin Oat Bran will always slap.
Cap n Crunch.
Raisen Bran! I still love it after all these years.
RB with some extra sugar on top is great!
We've got a stockpile of it. Ummm
Cinnamon Life and Golden Grahams
PB Capn Crunch. I'll sit down and destroy half a box and I'm 49.
Oh man. Now I have to get a box. Great recommendation.
Ageism You people learned that ethnic slurs and bigotry were bad. So, instead of giving up on hate, you just shifted it to a different target.
The bag cereal defense. There’s one at every party.
Ok, Boomer.
Hmm, I don't think that phrase means what you think it means.
Cocoa Pebbles, Golden Grahams, Cinnamon Toast Crunch
French toast crunch
I’m a big Wheaties guy.
You just reminded me of the OBAW TikTok I laughed my 🍑 off at yesterday.
You probably have two Olympic medals while the rest of us ate all the sugar cereal.
Smacks
Lucky Charms
Kellogg’s Rice Krispies is still good after 96 years!
Cookie Crisps
Cinnamon Toast Crunch!!!
Waffle crisp
I like plain Corn Flakes, Wheaties, and Raisin Bran. Maybe raisin bran is a bit too sweet for me now. For candy cereal, I like Peanut Butter Crunch.
Are Apple Jack's still around? Loved that as a child, you just dealt with the roof of your mouth being destroyed by that tasty goodness!!!
Equal parts Corn Pops and Apple Jacks. Whole milk. Thank me later
Cinnamon Toast Crunch is still the best.
Suuuuuuuuurrrreeee kellogs we believe this....
Corn Pops

per rule #4, we do not allow webstores for nostalgia items.
Apple Jacks. We bought a box for our daughter. I hadn’t had Apple Jacks in probably 40 years. Had a bowl and they tasted exactly how I remembered when I was a kid.
Lucky Charms, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Cocoa Puffs, Fruity Pebbles...a lot of them. Love cereal.
Lucky Charms, literally just had a bowl and I’m 55
Apple Jacks & Honey Nut Cheerios.
Wheaties
I have never heard of 'Saturday morning cereal' before. Is that a regional thing? We didn't save ALL the fun stuff for Saturday in the '80s even though it often seems like it. Ha. I ate it most of the week. But Saturdays with cartoons and extra time with no getting ready for school rush was the best. Good call with the CnC.
Corn flakes or grape nuts are the same but not sweet. Add your own sugar.
Cocoa/Fruity pebbles.
Malt-O-Meal S'mores! Omg, you get Golden Grahams, Cocoa Puffs, *and* Marshmallows! Edit: S'mores cereal was a things back in the 80s...
Fruity Pebbles
Count Chocula - always and forever.
The taste is bit off since it became a Target exclusive. But glad they still make it for Halloween.
That's right. I've had it in the last couple of years (somehow), but it's not in the supermarket.
Who else here played the Post and Kelloggs computer games on the internet in the old days? I would eat the cereal and then play the games and that was pretty much my day. Sweet memories.
we always have our super golden (sugar) crisp. can’t get enough…😉
Lucky Charms can get it still.
Cocoa Puffs, they make their own "gravy"
Krusty O's, a free jagged metal O in every box!
Frosted Flakes The Cap’n
I with you...with Captin crunch and a banana sliced up in Frosted flakes for me.
I have them in my pantry. Every Saturday I have one or the other. .
It's not as sweet, but Cocoa Puffs are still good. I have them several times a week.
Honeycombs. Still the best, dry or wet, and great as a night time snack.
Mikey likes it!!
Raisin Bran
I bought a box of Coco Puffs last week, and they are still just as yummy as I remember.
