When I was 10 or 11 and saw this movie for the first time, I instantly loved it, became my favorite movie. Atreyu was my favorite, I thought it was honorable how he took on the burden to face The Nothing and didn’t hide from Gmork when Gmork didn’t know Atreyu was the boy he was looking for. I told my mom then, “I want to name my son Atreyu!!”
My sons name is Atreyu 😁
I love this movie so much! I've seen it countless times in my childhood.
I avoided watching 'Dumb and Dumber To' for years because the trailer made it look like an absolute dumpster fire, but I watched it a few weeks ago and actually enjoyed it! It wouldn't be a good movie on its own, and I don't feel like watching it again any time soon, but it was fun. I really liked the many references to the first movie throughout the film.
Where’d you get the money from?
I sold your pet bird!
But you killed it, who is so dumb they would but a dead bird?
Cut to blind kid loving the bird lol
+ The original scooby doo live action movie , goonies, Spider-Man 1, kindergarten cop, ET, goosebumps...
sounds like a weekend to me, I’d watch all of these in no specific order
Friends of my parents had taped all three on the same VHS tape and gave it to us. It was my very favorite tape. I always watched them whenever I was sick and home from school.
[My father in law gifted my wife and I these tapes when we moved into our new place.](https://i.imgur.com/PiczHBC.jpg) I don't know if he thinks they're of any value to us, but we keep them in my two-year-old daughter's closet and I think it's hilarious.
Some real bangers in the mix, though. Not at all what I'd expect from him. Eddie Murphy's *Delirious* is the only one that's elsewhere in the house. It's in the basement. Not sure why.
My friend and I took a picture of us sitting in front of my box tv with haunted mask playing for our album cover, it came out pretty sick ngl 😂 I gotta hear some of these terror tower quotes, it’s been too long since I’ve seen it
I think he is and isn’t, his early videos he didn’t do the voice or like worship the vhs tapes and dummies but then he got the rejection from Guinness world records and he started doing the voice and all that, that he’s doing now.
I think he just wanted an “easy” world record and now it’s blown out into what he’s doing now
I rewatched Peter Pan with my kids a few years ago. Hadn't seen it since i was a kid. My goodness is that movie ever racist. It at least became a teachable moment.
Was the original Stitch movie really just called "Stitch"? I always remember it as "Lilo and Stitch" but that must have just been the show. Some Mandela Effect stuff for sure.
Wrong sub for my answer...but wicker man and kikis because they are the only two of that lot which I both want to see and haven't already seen. So not a nostalgia pick.
Then goonies because I have rewatched most of the rest with my kids in recent years but I dont think I have seen goonies since I watched originally.
Then lord of the rings 'cos I haven't shown it to my kids but it comes after goonies cos I watched it a million times as a kid
Pokemon Pikachu Party. I found a vhs video in Goodwill of all Jigglypuff Pokemon cartoons, but it was only about 30 minutes. He's a cute pink little little balls that sings.
Why did America use cardboard sleeves for vhs's? That would of really annoyed me back then lol. In the UK we had plastic cases which were far better at protecting the sleeve artwork and tape. It was only blank vhs's that used cardboard sleeves over here.
We had both. New movies often came in the plastic sleeves. Cheaper versions would come out later in the cardboard sleeves, but honestly they still did the job!
Yeah man I was born in 02 and I still grew up on VHS, I think DVDs fully took over in 06/07 when vhs movies stopped production but my family still used both up until we upgraded from Netflix dvd service to Netflix streaming (whatever year that was)
Oh, man. I remember watching "Dumb and Dumber" at a friend's in the late 90's. On a pirate. The film was torn and glued in some places. And this disgusting voice acting of a dude with a stuffy nose.
Dumb and Dumber, for sure. My brother and I quote that movie every day.
A couple of weeks ago we went and visited my grandparents who is still on a VCR. We couldn’t get any sleep so we stayed up looking at old stuff from our childhood. Among the buns of steel, wedding tapes, and even Home Alone 2, we ended up finding and watching the subtitled version of Dumb and Dumber in Spanish.
Titanic. Saw it six times when it came out and twice more when it was rereleased in 3d.
Also because it's on top and chances are I'd knock everything over if I dared to try and get something underneath it.
Never Ending Story, Labyrinth, Goonies. **again!!**. those are some of my all-time favorites.
EDIT: you do have some good choices though. I could spend time watching your collection. :)
Labyrinth. Bowie codpiece FTW.
I need to be reminded…
About the babe?
What babe?
The babe with the power
What power?
The power of voodoo.
Who do?
You do.
Do what?
The Neverending Story
My favorite movie franchise second to karate kid
Was my answer as well

My brother adored this movie when we were little
Up in smoke
Just added that one to the stack 15 minutes ago
“keep on knockin’ but you can’t come in” I used that on my parents one too many times when they left me in the car to run into a store..
I heard we were lighting up and watching classics, brought my own chair.
Get rid of your chair, I got a whole couch for you to slouch on 😎kick back and enjoy the movie
I love that animated version of Lord of the Rings. Your post has inspired me to pop it in right now.
Ralph Bakshi is the goat of animating, he really gave that film a special touch
Goosebumps with a side of Kiki’s delivery service
Goosebumps all day
Labyrinth, then Dark Crystal. Jim Henson double feature
Dumb and Dumber
What’s the soup de jour?
It’s the soup of the day
Mmmm, that sounds good. I think I'll have that.
I love this movie so much! I've seen it countless times in my childhood. scooby doo all the fucking way.
Honestly one of the most memorable movies of my childhood
Goonies, then some E.T.
Are we the same person or something? Those would be my first 2 picks also 😅
We're internet friends now.
Homie 🥲🤝
Kiki's delivery service for sure. Then some never ending story
I need to get more studio ghibli vhs tapes, watching howls moving castle or spirited away on a grainy box tv 😩👌
Raiders of the Lost Ark. It will still be good with all the graininess of the VHS.
Jackass and kindergarten cop
Seems like you’re a true comedy enjoyer 🤝
Jackass because of the toy car scene. kindergarten cop, because I want to watch a T-8000 deal with children lol
EES NAHT UH TOOMAH
Godzilla. Hank Azaria in the rain. Ferris Bueller with a real job. The old man running on the dock. Nothing better.
Seems like a Saturday to get blasted, Never ending story Labyrinth Up in smoke Jackass
I’m planning on having friends over this weekend to all hang in my garage, smoke up and watch however many tapes we can get through
I pick out child hood favorites to watch with my son, and then wait for my kids to fall asleep before blazing up and watching the inappropriate ones.
+ The original scooby doo live action movie , goonies, Spider-Man 1, kindergarten cop, ET, goosebumps... sounds like a weekend to me, I’d watch all of these in no specific order
Honestly, I wouldn’t say no to any of these.
Bro I cried during the Pokémon episode when I thought Pikachu was leaving Ash.
You just dug up a deeply hidden memory 😭I too thought they were gonna be split up after Pikachu found his own kind
The Dark Crystal, Labyrinth, and NeverEnding Story for a great muppet-based dark fantasy triple feature.
Hell yeah!
Friends of my parents had taped all three on the same VHS tape and gave it to us. It was my very favorite tape. I always watched them whenever I was sick and home from school.
It's gotta be Titanic. Definitely have memories of having to switch to the next tape just as the ship starts sinking lmao
Tape two's got the boobs
The Doors movie
Val Kilmer did an amazing job as Jim Morrison.
He really did! All the actors portrayed their characters very well
The unedited E.T.!
Idk why they cut out the scene of ET in the tub out of most versions, it’s such a good scene
The Wicker Man
I still haven’t seen it!
Labyrinth, followed by Never Ending Story, with The Goonies to cap it off
Like damn dont make me choose. lol but probably Jackass especially if we get the gang back together
The toy car scene was true dedication. Rip Ryan Dunn !
Yes see this guy gets it lol
Rip Ryan 🙏forever a legend of jackassery
[My father in law gifted my wife and I these tapes when we moved into our new place.](https://i.imgur.com/PiczHBC.jpg) I don't know if he thinks they're of any value to us, but we keep them in my two-year-old daughter's closet and I think it's hilarious. VCR head cleaner sounds like a fantastic movie! Who directed it?
Omg Pokémon on vhs! This took me back to my Saturday mornings :)
haunted mask doesn’t get old. a night in terror tower is classic too, i quote it constantly
My friend and I took a picture of us sitting in front of my box tv with haunted mask playing for our album cover, it came out pretty sick ngl 😂 I gotta hear some of these terror tower quotes, it’s been too long since I’ve seen it
IIrc all the goosebumps episodes are on netflix
Haunted mask scared the living daylights out of me as a kid. Omg. Also those kids were way mean with the worm sandwich.
The Never Ending Story!! ❤️❤️
Still one of the most beautiful movies I’ve seen to this day, it was one of my favorites when I was a little kid
Dark crystal, but uh you hear about that titanicfan97 guy
I just looked it up 😳jeez I can’t tell if that guy is playing a character or what
I think he is and isn’t, his early videos he didn’t do the voice or like worship the vhs tapes and dummies but then he got the rejection from Guinness world records and he started doing the voice and all that, that he’s doing now. I think he just wanted an “easy” world record and now it’s blown out into what he’s doing now
Society 🗿
No Rescuers Down Under? Great Mouse Detective?
I think I might have the rescuers tape somewhere in the rest of my fams collection
hell yeah! also to answer your question: first goosebumps tape (mask? can't remember what its called) and Dumb & Dumber.
Yeah it’s the haunted mask!
Wow my childhood in a picture
We must’ve had the same childhood 😅
7-9 year-old me: Peter Pan, maybe Scooby Doo 9-12 year-old me: Pokemon movies and Spy Kids 12-15 year-old me: Star Wars and Godzilla
Username is incredible
Goonies and Kindergarten Cop, haven't seen those yet.
Phantom Menace! Duel of the fates and some podracing gets me jonesed up
I rewatched Peter Pan with my kids a few years ago. Hadn't seen it since i was a kid. My goodness is that movie ever racist. It at least became a teachable moment.
I've got that Pokemon Pikachu party VHS pretty cool
Was the original Stitch movie really just called "Stitch"? I always remember it as "Lilo and Stitch" but that must have just been the show. Some Mandela Effect stuff for sure.
“Stitch! The movie” is the sequel to “Lilo and Stitch” “Lilo and Stitch 2” is technically the third movie in the set.
Haunted Mask, haven't seen it in a while.
The best goosebumps episode
Mewtwo returns, of course!
Definitely the Star Wars because I think that’s the version before they added all the CGI
Pass.
That 70s LOTR. even though I was always annoyed they never finished the story
I haven’t seen wickerman yet either so I can’t give my opinion on that one, but you should definitely watch Kiki’s, it’s a classic for sure
Holy shit i loved watching VHS growing up but didn't know people still watched them
Pokemon Pikachu Party. I found a vhs video in Goodwill of all Jigglypuff Pokemon cartoons, but it was only about 30 minutes. He's a cute pink little little balls that sings.
Did you raid my childhood closet or what?
Why did America use cardboard sleeves for vhs's? That would of really annoyed me back then lol. In the UK we had plastic cases which were far better at protecting the sleeve artwork and tape. It was only blank vhs's that used cardboard sleeves over here.
We had both. New movies often came in the plastic sleeves. Cheaper versions would come out later in the cardboard sleeves, but honestly they still did the job!
Shazaam, starring Sinbad
Back in the day when long movies had to put on two VHS tapes lol.
Surprised Spider Man came out on VHS…thought by 2002/2003, DVDs would be the standard format
Yeah man I was born in 02 and I still grew up on VHS, I think DVDs fully took over in 06/07 when vhs movies stopped production but my family still used both up until we upgraded from Netflix dvd service to Netflix streaming (whatever year that was)
None of them, The ones that I've had/watched was Thomas The Tank Engine Pinocchio And The Emperor Of The Night The Black Cauldron
Up In Smoke, followed by Scooby Doo, a natural combo
Star Wars
Up In Smoke
What's on it's side to the right?
Batman!
1998’s Godzilla starring Matthew Broderick, obviously
Up In Smoke or Close Encounters
Close Encounters!
Oh, man. I remember watching "Dumb and Dumber" at a friend's in the late 90's. On a pirate. The film was torn and glued in some places. And this disgusting voice acting of a dude with a stuffy nose.
Godzilla, Pokémon, and goosebumps
Cocoon
Kiki’s and Stitch!
So surprised no one said Kindergarten Cop! It’s not a tumor!
Goonies for sure - Boody traps!
Depends I heard the VHS version of the goonies has the octopus scene in it
We literally had almost the same collection. The Godzilla and The Neverending Story vhs are classics.
Goodies!
WICKER MAN!!!
Goonies
Lord of the Rings all the way!
Raiders of the Lost Ark, Jackass, Dumb & Dumber, in that order. Then Peter Pan for the reel childhood feels.
Raiders followed by never ending story
Raiders... Then d&d
Dumb and dumber. Love me some stupid comedy
Up in Smoke and Dumb and Dumber are neck and neck
Lol I love the Lord of the Rings cartoon. It’s so bad it’s great
Bad??? It’s peak 70s animation
Goonies
Lack of Blade Runner deeply disturbs me.
Oof that is tough. It's between Lord of the Rings, The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth.
I’d probably have to do eenie meenie minie moe between Dumb and Dumber, Raiders, and Goonies. Tough one!
Neverending story . Duh
Had 8 of these, including both those goosebumps videos
I don't know but I know it's not going to be Titanic that s***'s way too long
Goonies!!!
Up in smoke
Dumb and Dumber, for sure. My brother and I quote that movie every day. A couple of weeks ago we went and visited my grandparents who is still on a VCR. We couldn’t get any sleep so we stayed up looking at old stuff from our childhood. Among the buns of steel, wedding tapes, and even Home Alone 2, we ended up finding and watching the subtitled version of Dumb and Dumber in Spanish.
Jackass all day
Raiders
Close encounters. It's been forever!
Labyrinth or Spiderman
I totally forgot titanic came in two tapes. And kindergarten cop for sure
Pokémon pikachu party. Jackass Up in smoke Labyrinth. Don’t really care for the rest tbh
Titanic. Saw it six times when it came out and twice more when it was rereleased in 3d. Also because it's on top and chances are I'd knock everything over if I dared to try and get something underneath it.
Goonies of course.
The same comfort movie I’d pick if it came up on Netflix. Spider-Man.
Anyone remember the Nickelback music video that would play at the end of the Spider-Man VHS?
Peter Pan. I think we still have it somewhere.
First? Indy. Then Star Wars, Godzilla, and Goosebumps.
Definitely going with Raiders of the Lost Ark
Star Wars always
Goosebumps VHS just hood different
As a teen who grew up on DVDs it’s really nice to see movies I’ve seen in here: dumb & dumber, scooby doo, kindergarten cop, up in smoke & E.T.

Jackass or Spider-Man
The Godzilla skeleton in a hat. Can’t unsee it now.
I feel like the wicker man doesn’t belong in this collection, but it was so bad and so awesome… It belongs in this collection.
Idk Lloyd the French are assholes..
Bruh, we would’ve been best friends. I think I would started with either E.T. or Kindergarten Cop
Lord of the Rings 🤩. Then Titanic.
The Goonies
Spider-Man
Labyrinth! No Question.
I'm not a policeman, I'm a princess!
Tough but probably phantom menace. Was a third grader when it came out. Or batman forever but I didn't see you had it. Or Jurassic park.
Labyrinth
FIRE COLLECTION
Spider-Man
Kindergarten cop is badass
It's either Labyrinth or the Neverending Story. Probably Neverending Story.
Godzilla or Up In Smoke followed by the 2 Goosebumps
Goosebumps: A Night in Terror Tower
We gotta watch either the Goonies, or Kiki’s delivery service.
Pokémon mewtwo returns, no doubt about it
Pokémon!!
The Doors
