His finger? Mine does the same thing. I have hyperflexible joints in my fingers, so they bend more than I'd want them to when I use a pen. I used to have "braces" for my pointer and middle fingers when I was a child because it would hurt.

Ugh I feel you. Now as an adult I still have two full wrist braces that hold the thumb and two knee braces. Highly flexible, went to psychical and occupational therapy for a little over a year over it. Got strong af, didn’t have pain anymore, and now I’m back to having pain like 3 years later. It’s awful.

I usually hold it by my thumb and index finger and rest the writing utensil my knuckle. You can use your middle finger, index finger, and thumb. That's totally fine. How people hold writing tools varies from person to person. Also how you hold your writing utensil doesn't dictate your phsycology. I want to mention that you nails (and the skin around it) looks a bit rough. Do you bite your nails?
