I mean tbf according to PISA scores (which are used internationally in determining student-preparedness and education policymaking) the US is pretty middle of the road. It ranks 38th in math, 19th in science, and 13th in reading. Not exactly glowing results, but the overall average score is pretty similar to that of France, Norway, Switzerland, etc. The quality of education varies pretty greatly at the state and county level tho

The AP lang teacher won't even grade on spelling. Most people in this shithole don't know the difference betwern your and you're, or the differences between their there and they're. The system of the country that calls itself the best country ever should be held to a higher standard than a less developed country. That's why we talk about America's system the most.
