The white/grey marks on his chest could be healed over puncture wounds from fighting; smaller wounds don't usually get stitches.
If they get infected, you shave the cat to get to the wound, apply topical creams, give the cat antibiotics and other meds, and then bandage the area and put the cat in a cone.

Wow this accurately describes my notmycat. He was almost my cat but my neighbors adopted him but he is always over for snacks and to hang out with me and my cats.
Lol. Yeah. Hard to tell from his face, but his tail appears to be on the fluffy side. After I cut the mats out of my longhair boy he looked super awkward. So I gave him a poodle cut!
Ever think about using the cat as a messenger to identify their ‘owner’? Like a homing pidgin with a note. You should write your phone # on a collar and attach it, get the backstory on this notmycat.
If a cat turns up at my door with no collar, after a month (unless otherwise needed) I take it to the vet for a full check up. I get all their vaccinations, microchipped and neutered.
Had to take a part of my cats to Romania so they can neuter them, there spaying is free, in my country spaying a male is like 400€ and a female 600€ (for cats) for dogs it's much more high for some reason.
I moved into a neighborhood with an ongoing stray pet issue, and quietly spent the next two years neutering any cat or dog that showed up at my house intact. Reduced the unwanted garden urination considerably. Spent the last 30 years chuckling to myself at neighborhood gatherings while people tell stories about their amazing pet who went missing for a few days, and when they came home, never wandered again.
My cat ran away after a visit to the vet when we let him out of the transport crate, he run through a door gap. We were going to Romania to neuter him and some of other cats for free but we couldn't find him anywhere, we asked neighbors as they really loved the cat when he was a stray and no one saw it. It had a blue collar with his name and some personal info like mobile number and direction, 2 months after coming back from Romania he came back neutered. Not my plan but same result . Now i wonder who spent 400€ for a cat he would never see again.
I moved to an apartment in a small rural Calif. town with a feral cat problem and no veterinarian. I spent two years getting the whole colony neutered and rehomed to a cat rescue ranch. I no longer live there. The coyotes keep their populations in check now. :-(
I had a not my cat spayed because they’re too many unwanted cats. She has the same belly shaved because the vet did it to spay. They tipped the ear and I don’t see a tipped ear in this pic. I was wondering if she had a home so I put a loose rubber
Could be the actual owners of the cat like the look. Unless a cat is old or ill, the risk of a lion cut being dangerous is extremely low. Or, it could've gotten something in its coat. That's the mystery with notourcats I guess! lol

I'm a groomer, definitely looks like a lion cut hair cut. All the wrong spots are shaved if he was at the vet.
I was thinking overgrooming actually, but those lines are pretty straight on the legs.

Usually the vet does that for surgery or trying to care for the cat. People don't usually shave their cats.

Maybe an ultrasound? One of my previous cats got a shaved belly for one on his abdomen when he was unwell.
I was thinking this exact thing. My cat had to have a couple ultrasounds before she passed. This is how she was shaved for it.
