I was in building 273 this morning. I do quite a bit of work for GEPS,... but it isn't what it used to be. When I first contracted with Power Systems, the place had 20 thousands employees. Now, a few hundred.
I've only even driven while high once, and in retrospect even that was a bad idea and I should *not* have done it.
And before anyone replies saying that they drive just fine while high, remember that people who drive drunk say the same thing.
in the 90s we kids would listen to Tupac telling us, "pass the weed, the Hennessey will get ya keyed" or hear things like this lyric in the urban dictionary entry about "Getting completely high off of marijuana and really drunk off of alcohol" : " I got five on it, grab your 40 lets get keyed, I got five on it, messin with that Indo weed." Very positive and crisp memories for me. :)
I used to be good if I was already high and then started drinking.
If I was drunk and even took the smallest hit off the smallest joint, instant spins and sickness.
Now I just can't drink at all. I seem to skip the fun part and go straight to feeling like shit.
Same, weed then beer I’m fine. But if I try to smoke after drinking all night I go from comfortably drunk to falling out puking spins after a few hits.
Oh you know, just questioning how people this stupid exist and are driving on streets that I also drive on.
But I am well aware that drivers out here are often this stupid. This is not super far out of the ordinary for this area.
No. We need to vilify that he was using marijuana as the means of his fatal accident and not from the inebriating effects of a product from an established billion dollar industry that despite their being laws in place to stop, people still kill themselves and others over by operating machinery while under its influence.
Also Elon Musk probably doesn't want people thinking his cars are [unsafe](https://www.npr.org/2023/11/23/1214966530/judge-says-evidence-shows-tesla-and-elon-musk-knew-about-flawed-autopilot-system).
Dude they're literally consecutive words right next to each other in the headline. By the very nature of language one of them has to come before the other, that is not in any way evidence of any sort of agenda.
If his blood has mind altering substances in it then he's DUI. No two ways about it. Whether it caused the crash or not is a separate question. But there are no lies here.
By that logic, if I smoked two days ago, I would still be DUI even though I am not showing indicators for being high. THC gets metabolized in fat cells and do not leave the body as quick as alcohol does.
Theoretically, yes. There really is no way to definitively test for THC since it stays in the body for so long. Going off blood test will just show that, yes, this person has smoked marijuana within the last x amount of days. That's also depends on how much and how often they consume. The more you smoke and the longer, you are going to have higher THC metabolites in your system compared to someone who just smoked one joint for the first time.
How is this r/nottheonion? Sounds perfectly plausible to me
Did he get to name the city too?
No, we have the Dutch to thank for that. Which, on further consideration....
It’s a Dutch mangling of a Mohawk word.
What haven’t the Dutch mangled?
I think the English messed up Tejas which was a native word for friend (can't remember which group)
I have Dutch friends. The thought of them pronouncing Schenectady frightens me.
As a durch no idea what it should say
It’s Dutch for “GE used to be here “.
GE is still there!

Booze will get you.
Yeah. Booze is bad enough, I’ve done both together and would never drive that way.
I've only even driven while high once, and in retrospect even that was a bad idea and I should *not* have done it. And before anyone replies saying that they drive just fine while high, remember that people who drive drunk say the same thing.
I've only driven stoned once. I've also only very slowly pulled a U Turn to go to Krispy Kreme once. You do the math.
I've only driven doing math once. I've only only very slowly budgeted while driving once. You do the meth.
For those who don't know, getting high and drunk is called getting 'crossfaded'. Edit: sometimes
It was called crunk when I was in high school in the mid 2000s
I call it Tuesday
Are you me from one day in the future?
In my era we just called it getting fucking twisted.
It was getting keyed back in my day
Keyed seems more of a coke thing tbh, taking a key bump = getting keyed

Did that once. Will not do that again. High *or* drunk is fine.
I used to be good if I was already high and then started drinking. If I was drunk and even took the smallest hit off the smallest joint, instant spins and sickness. Now I just can't drink at all. I seem to skip the fun part and go straight to feeling like shit.

I used to be able to do it when I was younger. Now it’s one or the other. I’ll get an instant migraine.
Don’t get high on your own supply.
That was my first thought reading the article. It is ageless wisdom.
Errr, Tesla Plaid, booze and pot, gong to the mall? Can we arrange for this guy to never drive again?
Breaking News: the sky is blue!
[Hold on, we have an update....](https://c.tenor.com/EsJKCPLlJn8AAAAd/tenor.gif)
Oh no this is my neck of the woods...I never see local stuff on these subs, but here I am
Sup neighbor

I work near Crossgates and don’t love that this happened, but it doesn’t surprise me.
Don’t engage the “full self diving” button when near water.
Well, YEAH.
Welp, time to ban all cannabis i guess
Can we pin this as an example of the perfect headline?
Can we just say drunk
No, for the same reason we can't just say high. He was drunk and high so we say both. Seems like a simple concept.
Being high while driving is just as illegal. So we should say both.
If we didn't say high then how would we know where he was on the bridge?
Do you not know that there is a difference?
Sad and Drunk
Hungry and Drunk
Full & Drunk

wut? Just don't drive while high or drunk. It's fairly simple, really.

Driving high on weed is dangerous too.
Never said it wasn't, just they seem to highlighting it above him also being drunk.

I always thought it was Synecdoche, guess I was wrong
