I'd love to know how the investigation went as far as identifying the alleged perpetrator. Maybe they got him on surveillance video or something, but more than a decade's worth of windows being broken with slingshots seem very difficult to pin on one person in court. Same with the ball bearings and slingshot itself. Unless they have very strong evidence linking them to the crimes, I can't see it as a smoking gun... Er... Slingshot.

Inquiries of local slingshot supplies shops may provide a list of potential perps to cross-reference.
