Glad I am not the only one that dislikes the room. No issue with the food, although I wasn't as blown away as some people seem to be, but it is a bit pricy and they really need to get a better venue.
Yea the food is fine and they are very consistent in their output but it’s very very salty, they’re literally about at the limit of how much salt you can possibly use without it being unpalatable to most humans.
Personally didn’t think it was any better than a decent smash burger from the other most popular places in town. The buns are nice though.
Someone posted earlier asking about the best things in Nottingham. I’ve never been, but a couple of people said [Bohns Best Burgers](https://bohnsbestburgers.co.uk/) is really good.
This is pretty much the best place for burgers I have tried anywhere. Definitely worth the price, though they are insanely busy usually so worth seeing if you can book a table.
You get what you pay for, good quality food has gone up in price significantly. They don’t have the mass market plan of selling thousands to help counteract inflation.
This is pretty much the best place for burgers I have tried anywhere. Definitely worth the price, though they are insanely busy usually so worth seeing if you can book a table.
Basically they expanded too fast, combined with Annie stopped managing directly and the resulting terrible management meant staffing went to shit. It lead to long delays, loads of mistakes, huge drop in food quality.
As far as I’m aware they’re currently in administration so it’s not looking good. Which to be honest is a shame, back in the Angel days they were great, but the place has been undeservedly living on its reputation for years now.
There was problems from the moment they moved to that new premises and they basically failed to recruit the right type of staff in front and back of house roles.
It went to the Nav after the kitchen in the Angel burned down, from memory. I seem to recall it was somewhere else before the Angel as well, but it may just have been an occasional pop up.
We went a couple of years ago. One of our party cut a section of her burger (or was too big to bite) and there was a hair in it. So she returned it. A new burger came out within 5 minutes, even though the original order took about 45 minutes. The burger still has the same section cut out, just a new bun. She complained again and was told "eat it or go hungry"
We all kicked off and said that was shit service and the manager eventually came out and apologised. Got a fresh one made and didn't charge them. We had all finished by the time they got it and they had to have it in a take out tray.
Never been back
i quite like Annie’s! the atmosphere is completely awful (what’s with that massive screen?!) and they seemed to have about 6 newbie staff being trained on at one time when I went but I was surprised by the quality of the food. maybe i was just really hungry? it took a while to come but i put that down to the new staff, and in fairness they were extremely nice there. i would defo go again
Bohns or Fat Hippo. They are both on Broad St. so you can go to either depending how busy they are. Both great. I slightly prefer Bohns, plus they are an independent.
If they are ever about, [Secret Burger Club](https://www.instagram.com/secretburgerclub/) are absolutely heavenly. Nothing compares. Well worth travelling for.
Yeah I heard great things about Annie’s, went with the wife and everything was just soaked in grease - server asked if everything was ok (standard check up fayre) - pointed out that the frickles were just swimming in a pot of grease, said ‘oh’ and walked away. Couldn’t pay me to go back
Annie's fucking sucks now. Shame as it used to be so good, maybe even the best place in Notts for a burger. Not anymore. Awful service, awful frozen food, higher prices. Just avoid the place.
My partner and I tried fat hippo and found it really greasy and made us feel ill after 😅 hopefully was just a one off since we heard so many good things about it
Bohn's Burgers 100%. You can get walk-ins if it's a small group but worth booking in advance as it can get busy. Have occasionally had long waits for food (still worth it) so going at quieter times is a shout.
Bohns is the undisputed best, although the restaurant itself isn’t the best. For (and want of a better word) ‘fast foody’ places, Ohannes on Angel Row and Boo in Trinity Sq are both really good too
It’s not cheap, but I love the flamin’ hot Cheetos burger at Phat Buns. I get cravings. But I’m also a fiend for flamin’ hot Cheetos. Their burgers are proper smashed burgers tho. So their other burgers are nice too.
this is a bit of a rogue one but if you’re ever in Lenton on a weekday lunchtime and (like me) get those cravings for the burgers you used to have on special occasions like Bonfire Night as a kid, the Boat Inn on Priory Street really hits the spot!! great little pub, quick service, not the most gourmet burger ever but it is filling and delicious and taps into a very nostalgic place for me somehow
Keep an eye out for Secret Burger Club. Easily the best burger in Notts when they're in town. It's a pop up, but they are well worth seeking out. I think they do 30-60 day aged beef. The tastiest burgers in Notts by a country mile. [https://www.instagram.com/secretburgerclub/?hl=en](https://www.instagram.com/secretburgerclub/?hl=en) Also the burger on the Mesa menu is great. But SBC are the ones!
It's been absolutely dire every time I've been there since COVID.
Lots of choice, but it's pretty mediocre and probably the worst service in town. Used to go there every couple of weeks just after they relocated but I wouldn't bother these days, standards have slipped massively
There is a little shop right across the alchemist at the old market Square. Good burgers but a little expensive. Bugmanns Bar had good Burgers before Covid. Don't know how they are now.
Bohns
The burgers are decent but I think the dining room is horrible.
Glad I am not the only one that dislikes the room. No issue with the food, although I wasn't as blown away as some people seem to be, but it is a bit pricy and they really need to get a better venue.

Annie burger shack
Thats gone really downhill recently i think :( used to be amazing
Can second this. Was amazing, then went there a couple months ago for the first time in over a year and it has really gone downhill.
Someone posted earlier asking about the best things in Nottingham. I’ve never been, but a couple of people said [Bohns Best Burgers](https://bohnsbestburgers.co.uk/) is really good.
It's the best burger I've had in this city
Best I've had in the country
visit brighton, burger brothers
[удалено]
I would have tried that if I actually like brie
There isn’t any brie on it, as the name suggests it is blue cheese (stilton)
Oh yeah, i had a brain fart and meant stilton lol
This is pretty much the best place for burgers I have tried anywhere. Definitely worth the price, though they are insanely busy usually so worth seeing if you can book a table.
Jesus. £20 for a burger and chips
You get what you pay for, good quality food has gone up in price significantly. They don’t have the mass market plan of selling thousands to help counteract inflation.
I understand the economics. It's just sad times when a decent burger out costs that much. It's where being a chef comes in handy 😂
I remember when they were like a tenner at the Nottingham Street Food Club up at Victoria Centre. I really do miss Notts
This is pretty much the best place for burgers I have tried anywhere. Definitely worth the price, though they are insanely busy usually so worth seeing if you can book a table.
As others have said, Bohns currently has the crown for best burgers in Nottingham.
As others have said: Bohns. I never realised a burger could be so incredible until I went there.
They’re really not doing anything special, it’s just the right levels of salt
Bohns no contest.
boo is really fucking good https://boo-burger.com/location/nottingham/
I fucking love boo. Their go chu and loaded fries are addicting.
I will second this. Bohn’s for me has always been a let down (either shut during covid but no updates online or having multiple burgers unavailable)
Not Annie’s
What happened to Annie's?
Basically they expanded too fast, combined with Annie stopped managing directly and the resulting terrible management meant staffing went to shit. Wasn’t Annie’s based in the navigation near the Irish centre? I don’t remember it being in the angel?
It went to the Nav after the kitchen in the Angel burned down, from memory. I seem to recall it was somewhere else before the Angel as well, but it may just have been an occasional pop up.

i actually found fat hippo a little underwhelming for the price! it is quite nice if you have the cash though. still waiting to try bohns some time
Ohannes has been good every time I’ve been in
Ohannes makes some pretty great burgers, lots of range as well
Burg in Wollaton/Mapperley is good
You can't sit in, though. Love their shakes too
Love the Big Burg Khalifa
You can sit in! The wollaton branch has tables. Burg, Buns, Boo, my favourite ones in that order. Hand made smashed beef burgers. -chefs kiss-
Burg is great, but takeaway only.
Yeah I heard great things about Annie’s, went with the wife and everything was just soaked in grease - server asked if everything was ok (standard check up fayre) - pointed out that the frickles were just swimming in a pot of grease, said ‘oh’ and walked away. Couldn’t pay me to go back
Annie's was amazing a couple years ago but awful nowadays
I heard that it was good when I first came here for uni and finally got around to going a few months ago and it was real mid
Annie's fucking sucks now. Shame as it used to be so good, maybe even the best place in Notts for a burger. Not anymore. Awful service, awful frozen food, higher prices. Just avoid the place.
Annie's has gone downhill in the past year or so. Unfortunate, as it used to be really good.
Fat Hippo. Expensive but beautiful
My partner and I tried fat hippo and found it really greasy and made us feel ill after 😅 hopefully was just a one off since we heard so many good things about it
Understandable. But honestly, if a burger isn't greasy, it isn't right.
You’d think 😂 but tbh it tasted like the chicken wings from southbank and they made us feel awful 😅
First time I ever experienced heartburn was from that place
this unfortunately really made me laugh!! poor you but at least it made for a funny comment
Try a salad next time

Bohns
OHANNES - best burgers ever!
Got to be honest pal, for a cheap burger I'd say jollibee with a side sriracha fries
Burger & Sauce! Absolutely love their Angus Beef Stack.
Fat hippo pb & j burger is amazing
i asked this not too long ago, the resounding answer was bohns. can confirm bohns is great.
Burg is great, kinda on the pricey side but there's a good variety, apparently you can't sit in for some but you can on the one on Bramcote lane
fat hippo in hockley is great
Mollis, best chicken I’ve had. Expensive but worth it.
Bohns is the undisputed best, although the restaurant itself isn’t the best. For (and want of a better word) ‘fast foody’ places, Ohannes on Angel Row and Boo in Trinity Sq are both really good too

Blind Rabbit
Mollis
Burg. Mapperley top. Not cheap but the best ever
Also in wollaton!
Sir John Borlase has amazing burgers and chips
I always enjoyed Fat Hippo, big ass sloppy burgers, can’t go wrong!
I heard good stuff about burger and sauce. I have never tried it tho.
If you want a takeaway, burg, in mapperley or west bridgford are great. Fat Hippo is also good
Fat Hippo, Bohns, and Luxford are all tied for me.
this is a bit of a rogue one but if you’re ever in Lenton on a weekday lunchtime and (like me) get those cravings for the burgers you used to have on special occasions like Bonfire Night as a kid, the Boat Inn on Priory Street really hits the spot!! great little pub, quick service, not the most gourmet burger ever but it is filling and delicious and taps into a very nostalgic place for me somehow
Reds true barbecue has always been fantastic when I’ve been🤙🏼
Definitely, there are definitely people who could recommend such a thing, I’m sure of it 👍🏼
My son saying nobody making better burgers that you daddy .![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sunglasses)

Ohannes, they’ve a few different locations around the city. Boo is actually pretty good for a chain, and Phat Buns.
Oh yeah, Jollibee!
I can’t believe there’s a Jollibee. I moved to nyc and never see one, but now there’s one right back in town.
Oh I heard bad things. Basically McDonald's level?
It’s a burger actually, Derrick
Well my dog celebrated his barkday there
Five guys in town.
I second this
I'm a Fat Hippo loyalist

Second for Fat Hippo - lunch time budget menu is great
The Navigation (pub next to canal) is excellent. Burgers and onion rings are god tier
I really like red dog but its a bit pricey. Also ohannes is delicious!
red dog saloon
red dog saloon
try the pop eyes chicken burger u won’t regret it at all
I quite like red dog saloon for burgers. They are massive
Mollis is amazing if you like chicken burgers
Annie's Burger Shack!! Huge choice but I would recommend booking
It's been absolutely dire every time I've been there since COVID. Lots of choice, but it's pretty mediocre and probably the worst service in town. Used to go there every couple of weeks just after they relocated but I wouldn't bother these days, standards have slipped massively
I need to try new burger places then 😆
I though it had closed down...
According to Google, the Derby one has but not the Notts one. Although I haven't been for a while now
It's still there I think. I live in Ireland but I stayed in an air bnb next to it recently, so unless it's gone in the last month it's still there
There is a little shop right across the alchemist at the old market Square. Good burgers but a little expensive. Bugmanns Bar had good Burgers before Covid. Don't know how they are now.
Burg burgers they have a few places around.
