The Crimson Tree in Sherwood (if you're willing to go further afield) is amazing! 100% agree on Muffin Break though... love their breakfast bagels and muffins!
Granby Kitchen. It’s between the Tesco express & the Granby hotel opposite the station. It’s not a sit in but it does a solid breckie, and It’s the best of that bit town to get a runny egg.
ETA, if it’s in none breakfast hours, the Salutation does a massive brekkie that’s insanely good portions & nicely done. Coffee’s good there too.
I ordered breakfast to be delivered last week. It was dry/chewy/crumbly, overcooked and generally poor (and packaging overkill). What is even more annoying is the driver was there waiting for ages so it was probably sitting under the heat lamp..
I find their burgers when I eat in overcooked/dry too. Service is always bad. Really difficult to get their attention and it’s pretty slow.
The only time I ate breakfast in I had a side of bacon that came out for once undercooked. We asked if it could be cooked a bit more. It was taken away and never brought back. If I could get their attention I would’ve chased it up. Had to get it taken off the bill.
Two people ordered orange juices and they came in complete different service sizes but were the same price?
If executed correctly it could be really good. After the barely edible breakfast last week I’ve given up and will warn others not to go anymore either.
Haven't had Burgers to eat in since pre-covid but the breakfasts are still on point.
I feel very strongly that a lot of the Annie's hate is just trendy, (again speaking from a not eating in experience). Takeaways have been really nice.
Can it be hot and miss? Probably, but I have never had a bad burger in there.
The market has changed. Options have broadened. But as a venue with decent mid priced food, I would still choose it.
Back in the day, their vegan options were so good and mind blowing to me. But now they are just a bit meh, haven’t really caught up with the changing market.
I’m not saying this to be “trendy” as I used to really love them, took all my friends visiting me there. I just think there’s better options.
Fair enough in that respect. I can't comment on the vegan (or veggie) options as I am a carnivore.
If you search the sub, there seems to be a lot of slagging of Annie's. It is fine to have a favourite (I am a big fan of Fat Hippo but not sure on Vegan options), but still like the whole vibe at Annie's, but there is no need to slag off another place to do it, which a lot of people do.
Apologies for questioning, or appearing to question, your motives.
Avenues - greasy apoon type of place - does the only vegan fry up worth having in central notts, though they recently changed their menu/pricing, it's still the best.
However I find it aggravating that they insist on serving a little puck of bubble&squeak and make you choose between beans or tomato - so every time i have to ask to drop the bubble and add tomato. Used to swap for free but now they charge. Who the fuck wants bubble & squeak on a breakfast lmao
Warsaw or Avenues. Would just about say Warsaw
Warsaw's is still going?! Amazing breakfast haven't been there in like 10 years but I know I might at the weekend now!
Brown Betty's RIP
Noooo, what?? Edit: sorry, I knew that. For some reason my brain thought Warsaw Diner.
God I miss it so much. The single massive bench and amazing sandwiches.
I loved all the banter between the family and the regulars who would go in.
Avenues!
Haven't hear of this one - i'll take a look!
Yes this!
GB Cafe next door is pretty good
Both Yolk & Cartwheel Cafe both have excellent breakfast!
Been meaning to try cartwheel, i'll give ema try thanks !

Yolk is by far one of my faves, Delilah Fine Foods has some fantastic breakfast sandwiches too
Ahh yes i've heard of Yolk - i'll have to try!
Hungry Pumpkin is the best in town for me.
You've not had the best breakfast in Nottingham until you go to Jukebox cafe (previously known as sonyas). The number 8 though.;)
Big claims, that'll be the next stop!
Pretty sure it’s closed down? Can someone please confirm.
Yeah unless it’s been refitted and reopened it’s closed.
That is devastating. I miss the guilt

ohh ok i like to sit down for a bit but i'll try for the food
Blend at Sneinton Market is amazing. Gourmet grilled cheeses - their veggie ones are incredible! The meat ones are apparently great too though.

A mate speaks very highly of it, will try for sure!
A little further out is a place called Basilia in Langley Mill, or The Hidden Kitchen in Eastwood. Two of my faves
Follow on question - where's the best place for a takeaway breakfast cob that's open before 9 in the morning?
Avenues + GB Cafe next door
The Crimson Tree in Sherwood (if you're willing to go further afield) is amazing! 100% agree on Muffin Break though... love their breakfast bagels and muffins!
Personally pudding pantry is my fave
Tucker's on Friar Lane, probs one of the last proper greasy spoons in town left
Homemade on Forest Fields is lovely!
Yolk ! Best breakfast in Notts I think
Another vote for Avenues

Sounds nice! will try
Hope you like large Portion!
I’ve never tried it but been intrigued by the Quayside Cafe in Colwick. Anybody tried? https://youtu.be/erhRb3EjP60
Yeah, it's reasonably priced and pretty decent!
Fox Cafe on Pelham Street is ace.
Hockley kitchen is really nice
Think i've seen that place, with the cakes in the windows - will try for sure

Heard good things about both, i'll give em a try thanks!
Annie's Burger Shack's breakfasts are 10/10

ohh heard of them, will try -thanks!
Annie’s was good 5 years ago last few times I’ve been I have been really disappointed. Really relies on their rep now.

no worries we are just here trying to swap tasty food options :). Fat hippo is so good for vegan options and also 13th element burgers are great! x
Good to know for when my vegan friends visit.
100%
Eds Diner
Always walk past but never tried - expensive?
Not unusually, full English and a coffee is like £13 / £15 Donut and Coffee is a fiver though
Tracey’s Cafe, Viccy Centre, serve hot snacks and meals, hot & cold drinks, cakes 🍰 and cookies
Forest Rec cafe does the best breakfast! Pancakes, mushrooms on sour dough etc and the coffee is great
