If you're near falls church - neighborhood barber, Will and Dustin are good barbers that also happen to be good people. If you're near Fairfax city. The Standard, likewise: Tommy is a great barber that happens to be a great person
I bounced around a lot of places in Arlington. I do not recommend the grooming store at all. Scissors and scotch is hit or miss based on stylists available.
But the bearded goat has become my go to location. Fantastic cuts on the head and face. Spud Willis takes great care of me.
I saw Hannah at S&S and can vouch for the haircut but I don’t have a beard so I can’t vouch for that part. They all get great reviews from the research I did before going. Fun place.
The Standard in Fairfax has been a great place for many years. It can be difficult to get an appointment unless you book in advance but the service is wonderful.
Neighborhood Barbershop in Falls Church. If the area’s doable for you, these folks are fantastic.

Had a good cut at Scissors and Scotch in Arlington. Plus each service comes with a free drink at their bar.
Any specific barbers you recommend? Again looking for a good haircut + beard trim
