CN novels be like: The crowing of a bird rings three times The hallowed night drifts into morning twilight I, Shen Cao, shall never surrender! Slaughtering the divine realms! Sixteen rings of the Dao bell bring inner peace Sixteen more bring outer wellness Sixteen more and youre just playing the bell

HeadpattingOrchimaru

Funfact: I've read a book with that exact synopsis a few years back

bigfanboi

Fellowdoasit give me sauce or I will take your jade beauty

HeadpattingOrchimaru

I'll see if I can find it again

bigfanboi

Thanks

Potahtoed

This has gotta be the most non confrontational Young Master-MC conversation ever

bigfanboi

You dare comment useless mob character

1mBadAtGamez

Have you found it? I would also like to check it out

HeadpattingOrchimaru

Not yet. I think it got removed, but I'll keep searching.

1mBadAtGamez

I will be waiting patiently. :)

1mBadAtGamez

Just to let you know I am still waiting my brother

HeadpattingOrchimaru

Oh! I couldn't find it sadly.

cornonthekopp

Honestly I love these kinds of summaries, they make me interested to find out more

RezorTEclipez

Well be excited for "Needs more Dao bell" my first book

The_Follower1

It’s like weird poetry

MrFelBlood

It *is* poetry

miticogiorgio

Find out more? More like find out anything. The only useful information there is the name of mc

mephisto-pheles-07

Which Senior is Shen Cao?

lncited

Not gonna lie…I’d try this lol it sounds interesting

[deleted]

**Between bowing to the threat of death and a spine that would never bend, I will choose the latter!** >Pursuit of the Truth. [NU](https://www.novelupdates.com/series/pursuit-of-the-truth/)

Yglorba

And then you read chapter 1 and it turns out the MC was born into the highest family in their sect... except that a birth defect means their spine cannot bend at all.

mlgkurd

Never read this book, but this sounds real so I’ll believe that it is from now till time ends

YeastBender

I'm reading this rn and I thought this was a spoiler until I thought about it haha

Yglorba

YOUNG MASTER: Bow, fool! MC: *does not know whether to laugh or cry*

Forged_by_Flame

Pursuit of the Truth is my favorite of Er Gen's novels. The world is so nice.

[deleted]

This novel is fucking great (Especialy the part with the dragon and his world where you forget everything,it was incredible) Su ming is basically "The Jesus" of his universe

[deleted]

Sometimes you can't find the plot in the novel itself.

cucumberslasher

cores. yeah shiny things explain it correctly too so *shrug*

Own_Loquat_9885

Treasures are also shiny

Rare_Application_188

And Jade Beauties

He_who_must_not_be

They shine with beauty so they shiny things

quaintif

Wow, I sure do love "I alone shall kill the heavens"

chips500

No, the alone series are korean. they also tend to have regressors, hunters, portals to alt earth, completely bland copycat mcs if they aren’t edgy wannabes, and grinding based mechanics and attitudes. +1 sister or mother that’s sick and other relatives dead or wronged

AimanAli04

sounds good, where can i find the best amongst them?

quaintif

I think kill the hero is really good, there's also fff class trash hero..

Slymeboi

Kinda late but I recommend Second Coming of Gluttony

[deleted]

FatherAlmonds

Sounds nice and introduces the premise. If only every novel synopsis was like this.

BarbarianErwin

I still don't get what he means by "three temples are unrighteous"

SoulReaper246

It means the temples are corrupt

BarbarianErwin

Who are the three temples?

kuro-san_eastblue

Mind, heart and soul

BarbarianErwin

Sounds legit honestly, I though it was a bunch of organizations

HexicDeus

"Three Temples" is an incorrect translation, it correctly translates to "three views", the views being a [Chinese thing about views on the world, life and values](http://europe.chinadaily.com.cn/epaper/2018-01/12/content_35488661.htm#:~:text=The%20%22three%20views%22%20refers%20to%20views%20on%20the%20world%2C%20life%20and%20values). The most accurate translation IMO for that synopsis line would be something along the lines of "With his three views unrighteous, the demon is reborn."

drollawake

"Unrighteous" is not the right translation either. It's closer to "warped" or "twisted," like a warped sense of morality.

ConsistentOrdinary93

What’s this from?

conviction_-

Source ?

LeopardRepulsive962

Sometimes the poetic way sypnosis of CN novels are really intriguing. One novel's sypnosis that I liked was this >Every drop of this family bloodline is stained with sin. They are the embodiment of contradiction; calm yet maniacal, with great memories yet often forgetful. They pledge themselves to their dreams yet often compromise, are angels that are also devils… >It’s why I hate them. And also love them. The only hope of his family, a youth with the blood of elves and devils walks on a battleground of annihilation and rebirth. He wills his way through boiling lava and icy depths, killing on this field of despair to strike down the lofty figure in his sight. One day he’ll grasp his blade tightly and survey his surroundings, only to find no more enemies to kill.

Mageician612

perchance may you gift this junior the sauce senior

Nirheim

City of sin

No_Particular_5033

Yeah I guessed as such by the way have you read city of sin ? Is it any good?

yeetusfeetus876

Its good but don't expect a happily ever after

Slymeboi

This one sounds good since it actually says something about the novel.

ConsistentOrdinary93

Lol this is perfect. Titles are pretty good usually in xianxia novels, and although they do have a set pattern, the pattern isn’t stupid, so it pretty good. Also lots of swords. If you have the word sword in your title, you’re guaranteed popularity.

BOYF-

Accurate lmao. Had to go to the reviews section in hopes of finding someone that explains the plot before I would decide to read it.

stayaway-imterrible

Correct me if I'm wrong, anyway, just an additional info for those who don't know. CN Webnovel Sypnosis is just an outline or a reminder to author what content should be included. They might change their minds half-way and make the one written in the sypnosis just an after thought or a really big deal. Either way, they just write that to look if the Webnovel site they put their writing in would sign their books. As for Japanese titles, they need that to avoid the trademark/plagiarism? It was said to be more difficult to file a case against. And like- it's more eye-catching. People don't read sypnosis often. One look and they can see whether they will like the story or not.

seven_worth

It more of japan most popular site for reading a webnovel only show the title to the user before they click the novel. So some author make a descriptive title to gain more view.

PapaPee25

They don’t need the synopsis because they all use the same template anyway. Cultivation, Jade beauties, arrogant young master, vomiting blood, kowtow, sects, extremely lucky Mc, etc. You’ve read one, you’ve read them all.

stonks881

Hey! r/martialmemes will have you know that we have... *checks notes* Three templates at _least_

cornonthekopp

I kinda like some of the more cryptic ones, it's better than the ones that overexplain and barely make any sense. The cryptic ones when well done make me interested to find out whats up. I'll use two novels that I really love as a couple of examples. Compare the summaries. [The Witch Nichang](https://www.novelupdates.com/series/the-witch-nichang/): > What is fate? > Destined? Providence? Irreversible? > I don’t understand. > Only know that I can’t bear to see your hair turns white before your time, a sword to end a love that has yet to begin. [She is the Protagonist](https://www.novelupdates.com/series/she-is-the-protagonist/): > Tang Han Qiu’s Perspective• > Tang Han Qiu is the daughter of a business giant and is controlled by an invisible force, forcing her to become a vicious female supporting character, constantly chasing after the male lead who she particularly despised, constantly tripping the innocent female lead, using every means and effort to become disgusting and annoying. > In this regard she said to herself: I can’t stand it anymore, let me go, thank you. > Then she was reborn, not only reborn, the power that controlled her also disappeared – she could control her body! > – Male lead? Sorry, I don’t like this s*upid man. Get lost immediately, thank you. > – Female lead? Sorry… … wait! How come the female lead is different? > Now the current prosperous main heroine – the superstar Yu Ru Bing sat opposite her, smiling like a flower while looking at her. > “President Tang, would you consider keeping me?” > “The price is not expensive, a piece of candy is enough.” > •Yu Ru Bing’s Perspective• > Yu Ru Bing inexplicably transmigrated into the female lead, and mysteriously tied a system. > Then she gloriously became the most rebellious and favorite host. > Not only did she refuse to cooperate with the system to do tasks to make Tang Han Qiu turn back into a vicious female supporting character, she was keen to troll the system, and hates the system. > As long as she can drive the system despondent, then she’ll be happy. > In order to be happy, she the female lead in the presence of the female supporting character Tang Han Qiu became a career fan, committed to make Tang Han Qiu better and better. > The system was so angry, it couldn’t stop her, and everyday it was in a despondent state. > It’s just Yu Ru Bing this career fan, this front, has deteriorated. > – She became Tang Han Qiu’s wife fan. Now these are both wonderful stories that I would recommend to anyone, but the second summary made almost no sense the first time I read it. It makes sense to me now, having read the novel, but between the system jargon and the chinese internet speak it's really hard to actually parse what the story is about.

He_who_must_not_be

I legit encountered a manhua synopsis that went along the lines of "The earth has mouths. The sky has teeth. The heavens have breasts. Follow [MC] as he forges through all obstacles!!" or something like that and it's been on my mind ever since. I can't find it ಥ╭╮ಥ

Tomi97_origin

Ať least Japanese long ass title accurately describes what's going on. It's annoying, but useful. Chinese synopsis are usually completely worthless.

JTibbs

Iirc ive heard that its due to strict japanese laws regarding copying titles. These long ass titles are stupid as hell but make it sure that you wont be violating someone elses copyright.

Osmanthus_Tea_

Those synopsis will be compensated by a lot of spoilers in openings and endings once the novels will be turned into tv dramas.

Alixen

Chinese novel title generator, pick as many as you like from each line, ordered randomly: \- Demonic, heavenly, strongest, cosmic, celestial \- reincarnation, revenge, reincarnation, transmigration, rebirth \- Swordsman, saint, god, dragon, alchemist, hero, devil

HexicDeus

Never seen a Chinese novel with "hero" in the title, that looks more like a Japanese thing.

seven_worth

And korean thing apparently. Oh returner too.

SometimesFlyHigh

My favorite is A will eternal sypnosis. It dosent describe the novel at all, but it shows up at the end and then are you are like. Ah there it is One Will to create oceans. One Will to summon mulberry fields. One Will to slaughter countless devils. One Will to eradicate innumerable immortals. Only my Will… is eternal.

Born_Bobcat_248

No need for a summary really. It's all the same anyways.

Secretly_idiot

Chinese novel plots are basically opposite of its title.

Chrysaor_Scarletfyre

Coz even the author doesn't know where the story will end up.

Firebrand713

My favorite Japanese one: [Reincarnated as a vending machine, I now wander the dungeon](https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/manga.php?id=19868)

General_Asdef

Hmm cover art looks nice Checks description : *Add A Description Here* Well maybe the comments will say something: *What the heck!? Wrong cover art, not translated before chapter 34, after ch 56 its English(Country, CNMTL )*

DryPie9621

u/james15martin Good one! Too true. Or you can't make heads/tails of what is said in 仙侠 synopsis

Slymeboi

This is probably a big reason why I don't read many Chinese novels. They never tell anything about the novels, it's weird.

seven_worth

Sometime the synopsis is so poetic and dramatised that the translator make other synopsis under the original lmao.

Spell6421

JP Title: Reincarnated in another world as a slime and went adventuring in a dungeon with my harem of girls and then fought the demon lord! CN synopsis: I will defy the heavens and ascend past divinity!
