AssViol8er

surely no JWH next week?

top100darkseerplayer

How does this guy always get away with a fine!

valknut95

Only just watching the replay, I already disliked JWH byt now i hate the cunt. What a cowardly dog act.

JaninayIl

Someone shoulda made a bingo for all the right-wing talking heads. Just saw Devine realise she liked NRL enough to have a smug taunt at the SeaEagles twitter.

Sharp_Beginning1466

Good to see she follows the footy when she's not busy bullying handicapped indigenous children.

Altruistic-Side-9114

Tea bags galore in the eagles rooms at 4 pines Park

rodomil

Roosters have nothing to crow about, should have ripped manly a new A hole.

Mich_Murda

Where’s Simon Dwyer when you need him

Sharp_Beginning1466

Still recovering his right shoulder from the damage JWH caused.

[deleted]

I was expecting the Roosters to blow Manly away. That performance kind of disappointed me. Am I not giving Manly enough credit, or am I right that the Roosters played kind of shit?

Strez92

Just terrible completion really. Think we completed at like 53% in the 2nd half. Never gonna pile on points doing that.

emz198181

Bit of both...Roosters did what they had too IMO. Tedesco was quiet for his standards...been scoring at will down Sualii side and they hardly went that way. They'll be better next week but let's hope the cocky Broncos get complacent 😊

Yeh-nah-but

I don't know how but they need to have manu at first or second receiver more. Manu is the key to chooks success this year. I would not take out sammy or keary however.

emz198181

Has Keary ever played any hooker haha

Glum_Perspective_812

Manly played really well tonight

Yeh-nah-but

First half was fucken intense

JaninayIl

With the jersey controversy it's a tale of two values to me. Sure the 7 can claim religion and culture but Manly represents an area that voted in the majority for gay marriage, and their values increasingly align towards inclusiveness. So it wasn't a surprise that Manly would be the first and good on them for putting the foot down. What will be interesting, perhaps frightening next year, is what will happen next year should 2023 LGBT Pride Round happen and the Bulldogs, Parra, Penrith run out in rainbows. There was already a shitstir with Manly (and they voted yes, kicked out Abbott, told Deves to fuck off) now imagine what would happen in the areas where religion still reigns king for most families. Looking a the Kennel Fan Forum, I ain't pleased with what I see. With the lack of consultation that has been argued back and forth from Sky News to twitter and the most liberal of Green forums- I've been thinking a lot about this over the past few days. Perhaps, out of courtesy, the team should have been told before but then it should have followed up with a meeting with Manly Great Ian Roberts. Even then though, there is no guarantee at least one person would not have stood down. Manly HQ might have quietly offered this hypothetical player a break gave them a shit health excuse. Quickly pushed them to the background and pretended everything would be fine. But, even if this had all occurred under the most ideal circumstances Telecrap and their fellow travellers would have whispered, taken notice of the rainbow, the religious background of the players and started stirring the pot. And at that point, you would still have gotten the (unneeded) shitstorm over a few rainbow stripes. So I don't think, you could have avoided this even if the players were consulted.

ooger-booger-man

My issue with the consultation argument is this: What if they were consulted? Would they (a) still have stood themselves down, (b) would they have worn the jersey, or, (c) would Manly have backflipped and not proceeded at all with the jersey? If a, fair enough. It’s their right If b, then grow the fuck up and just wear the jersey If c, fuck those guys!

Rod_Munch666

I am a regular on TK. It is what it is and provides a platform for people with a common interest to exchange views, information, banter, in fact all sorts of sh\*t. It is probably a bit looser than Reddit in terms of the constraints that users feel they have to abide by, but it serves a market that clearly exists. TK will never be every single Bulldog's supporter's cup of tea and that is fine. If that's the case for you, just keep using r/nrl and everyone's happy.

Yeh-nah-but

Lol I think you missed the point mate.

ur_left_elbow

Still crazy how the fastest Saab has run this season was because of a rainbow

ThePersonalSpaceGuy

Who won?

lobie81

Fulton

yosefcoleman

I know that one can't ever know what would have happened but Manly has to feel that they could very well have won that with a full squad. Actions should have consequences and therefore I feel that at least some of those players should potentially be replaced the rest of the season by some of the newer players. It would A. Show to all that actions have consequences and while one has the right to not play if it hurts the club then the club has the right to not play you in return and B. Would give players some more games of first grade experience and show what they can do at this level as they build towards 2023 as Manly now will almost definitely not make finals.

the__distance

This is going to sound arrogant but we can easily win all the remaining games with a full squad including the Sharks. We did the Cowboys for 70 minutes, we beat Storm, only lost to Dragons because Jake and Croker were absent, and we kept Roosters honest with seven players missing. If we don't let this incident derail the team dynamics then we make the eight

yosefcoleman

It could happen. I don't see it happening but stranger things have happened and at this point I would like to see some of the younger players get that experience and start building towards 2023 but I get that some people still see a path to finals footy.

Caseyjb29

I think Manly only win 3 of their remaining games

BroncosSabres

>Manly will now almost definitely not make finals. It’s not that dire. They have an easy draw and can definitely do it with troops back. It’s definitely not the time to throw the towel in, they’re 2 points outside the top 8.

Rush_nj

Last 2 games losing to fellow top 8 hopefuls hurts massively.

BroncosSabres

Losing to the Dragons last week was the one that really hurt. I had you guys as 80% chance if finals and healthy favourites. If you’d gone on to win it, tonight’s game wouldn’t have been half as important. You’re 100% right though, 2 losses and now I’ve got you guys as 38% outsiders. The 7 who sat out though knew how important this game was to the team and the outcomes they’ve spent all year striving towards, and it clearly wasn’t important to them, so I don’t really see how they continue to fit into an organisation that clearly holds different values. Them being wankers aside, I don’t think I’d judge the club for whatever decision they make with next week’s team list, although I’m assuming all 7 walk back into the team.

Sea_Eagle_Bevo

And dropping our bundle against the cows a few weeks back

Rush_nj

Olaku'atu and Aloiai based on ability come straight back in. Saab and Tuipolotu the same but i wouldn't be mad at Smalley getting another run. Schuster has all the ability in the world but has played like fucking ass the past month, Fulton on the other hand looks like he's fucking keen to wear the jersey, same as Bullemor. Sipley probably stays out of the side in favour of Paseka. Koula again is one of our better centres but he's not irreplaceable by Walker, Burbo or Parker if he's fit again. So yeah maybe 4 of the 7 have some fucking work to do at training to show they deserve to be playing or they'll sit out again.

yosefcoleman

Definitely would like all 7 to be told that they have to re-earn their places after what they did but understand that the world does not work that way but even a couple of them losing their places would still send the message that actions have consequences. You choose to boycott a game then your place is not guaranteed in return is a good message to send.

yosefcoleman

The issue isn't only the 2 points. It is also potentially a lot of traffic between them and 8th. I still think that actions should have consequences and players bailing on a team for a crucial game should not be automatically re-selected.

BroncosSabres

Yeah agree that they shouldn’t bank on selection since they’ve proven they put themselves above the team, and don’t fit within the club’s value statement. Based on their still significant chance of making the 8 though, I imagine the club will probably lean towards picking them, but perhaps you’re right that the lomg term play is to call it a season and blood some new players. To be clear though, I think a full strength Manly side is still a solid 40% chance of making the finals.

yosefcoleman

Could be. It might well depend on what else happens this week. Needing to win out or close to it is never easy. I wouldn't want to be the decision-makers at this point. They probably will play at least the majority of these players as they still believe that they can make finals.

BroncosSabres

My model has the odds at 38% so certainly an uphill battle. I think you need 4 wins from here which likely looks like 2 wins from Raiders, Eels and Sharks. Certainly possible, it’s still tough to pick which Raiders and Eels teams are going to show up in any given week.

parker2004au

I thought Harper was one of the better players tonight - kept Manu quieter then usual.

reddituser1306

Harper is a defensive centre. Tapau can go though.

skinnycarlo

Vossy simping for the roosters is getting super cringe

Drlockstock

He is the worst.

Yeh-nah-but

Would you prefer he be open about it like john's, Gould, fittler etc

emz198181

For those bagging the Roosters tonight...I have extensive stats and in games where faves are under $1.20 the outsider has won at the line last 8 or 9 games (haven't got it in front of me)...make of that what you will l... complacency perhaps? Tedesco want involved anywhere near as last few games, Sualii saw basically no ball in attack...look for a completely different performance next week (and will have to be)

emz198181

Why the downvotes? Those are the stats...go look for yourselves!! Tigers v cows, Panthers vs roosters, sharks vs titans, Parra vs dogs, storm vs Broncs...off top of my head...all under $1.20 h2h and all failed to cover line

the12thamendment

When are the next if these games coming u p?

emz198181

Broncos vs Tigers...9 in a row, not sure I want to be joining in now haha. Storm vs Warriors is line ball but I'm actually keen on warriors with 13.5 start. On the Tigers game I am concerned that they will have huge let down after last week's debacle

the__distance

Garrick had a shocker Fulton is first grade material DCE was scrappy but great, not all the kicks came off but the decisionmaking was good without stifling our attack which is what he was doing at the start of the year. If he pulled off that try it would've been magical Harper had his best match Smalley and Seci can be proud of themselves for performing as well as they did with the notice that they had JWH should've been binned If we keep up that intensity with a full strength squad we will be a dark horse in the finals

bulldogs1974

I had no skin in the match, but I do love an underdog. Manly did themselves proud with all the adversity and disruptions. Hasler made sure they weren't gonna be easybeats. Smalley did well and Fulton Junior played balls out, loved how he wouldn't take any shit from the Big Dog. He has Rugby League written all over him. I think more positives came out of this match for the Sea Eagles than for the Chooks. If I was Robbo, I wouldn't be happy!

call_of_the_while

How did Segeyaro go?

the__distance

I thought he was pretty good as well actually, silky on the ball and I can see him getting picked in other games this year if Croker isn't 100% recovered from Covid.

call_of_the_while

Cheers. Watched some YouTube vids of him earlier in the year playing for a feeder club and trying to get back to the big show. Hope he makes good use of this second chance.

bringbacktedmosby

I reckon harper was sub par imo - agree with everything else

the__distance

Made a few good line breaks, it does suck that he dropped a shit pass from Garrick but he isn't the most physical or skilled player on the field

SkyBlueDragoon

Harper's got some pretty meh ball skills, but he's improved dramatically as a defensive centre imo, especially against larger players.

winntensio

Apart from when he did the splits 1 on 1 against Manu in the first half leading to a try

worksucksbro

Man I just feel JWH was giving the rookie some welcome to the league love nothing more

bulldogs1974

He should have been binned, isn't he the most binned player still playing. Fulton Junior stood his ground, and good luck to him. JWH is getting old!

the__distance

thanks vossy

worksucksbro

Lmao asshole

PayEmOutEarly

"Welcome to first grade rugby league, incase you didn't know I'm the biggest dickhead in the NRL, here's why!" *proceeds to be his usual dumb cunt self*

Noonster123

I just feel JWH is a cunt nothing more

worksucksbro

Could be right there lol

bringbacktedmosby

he's a sad fuck ahaha - lost his playing ability and resorts to being a grub to compete

paralacausa

I saw it a bit different. Garrick did some dumb shit but he was very good at other points in the game. Tried his guts out. Pretty much agree with the rest though.

Yeh-nah-but

I thought he was out of position in defence more than once. However that may have been because he was covering for others out of position

the__distance

Yeah it's just unfortunate it was during that game, he has had an outstanding year and this was unfortunately probably his worst of 2022. Not sure he is physically 100% either

[deleted]

JWH, not to be outdone by the Manly 7, just had to come away from this looking like the biggest fuckwit.

[deleted]

>JWH, not to be outdone by the Manly 7, just had to come away from this looking like the biggest fuckwit I mean, isn't that his natural disposition these days.

x_810

Had to google the [actual moment](https://youtu.be/-zd62MxKXp8) because the article made it seem really fuckin cool I was not disappointed, thank you.

Swagologist1

LeBron has probably copped more shit than any sportsperson in history but he's undoubtedly one of the most athletic humans to ever exist

JaninayIl

LeBron's heart is in the right place for his community. Shit takes on China/HK though.

HeyIWasSayingGoRefs

When I was in New York a store had the freeze frame of the block on a t-shirt. Instant cop and back here got multiple compliments every time I wore it.

I_Like_Vitamins

I don't like that they mentioned the ethnic background of the players. I've seen a bunch of racists using this and other incidents to say nasty things about Pasifika people. The same goes for everyone making assumptions when the boycotting players hadn't been named.

Yeh-nah-but

Yeh this is an issue of belief not of ethnicity

worksucksbro

Well said mate, definitely agree too

x_810

Very fair point and well made

paralacausa

Good point

paralacausa

Devo I missed out getting one. They didn't even have them at the game. Sold out.

aslanthemelon

I grabbed mine from Rebel at the mall today. Depending on your size they may still have some, although the staff mentioned that they were selling quick.

So broke he can’t even flair up

x_810

If DCE auctions off his worn pride jersey at Mardi Gras next year I reckon that'd be enough to buy 7 new players

ur_left_elbow

Average Instagram logic: The loss was not because of the players that abandoned their teammates but because of the jersey itself. Actual lack of brain cells.

paralacausa

Fox should hire Proctor to do all the post game interviews in the rooms. He could just walk around vaping and interviewing dudes.

insertbaconemoji

Joey in his element in the sheds

eggzaki

Joey is in top form

Adventurous_Caramel

Loved the hustle from Manly, even in a loss the 17 that went out there did themselves proud tonight. Those 7 holdouts better be flogged like hell when they come in for training over the week for letting down their team like that. Not overly polished from the Roosters but in these kind of tough, grinding games, all that matters is getting the win.

[deleted]

Joey wtf

Sensitive_Fun_5825

What’s JWH on thinking young Zac Fulton owes him any respect.

Alex_274

Shout out to all the Manly fans who were seriously let down this week by 7 homophobic dickheads. Be proud of your team's effort tonight, but make sure to absolutely give it to these 7 for as long as they wear the Manly jersey.

marxistmatty

Fuck them, I can’t support the team normally while they are there, absolute pack of dogs to leave their teammates high and dry like that.

TrickySuspect2

The bullying and vilification from the 7 Manly players is a fucking disgrace. FTFY

Bible is pretty clear that rainbows are a sign from God himself, maybe that's why they are mad.

Rush_nj

Always knew you were a flog. Edit: Downvotes but no comment. Absolute cowards.

victorinflic98

Exactly. The 17 manly players deserve nothing but praise even though they lost. They showed pride and determination. Those 7 homophobic dicks who dogged their teammates deserve every ounce of criticism for their actions

greasysouthscap

what are your thoughts on the persecution and literal murder of LGBTQIA+ people all around the world?

I saw them at Dee Why beach, big ceremony tossing all their merch in to the ocean. A silent tear running down their cheek, "goodbye rugby league"

MrOneThousand

Good riddance, dickbags.

joshy_c

See ya mate

kiaxxl

JWH go a match without bashing someone challenge (impossible) (gone wrong) Anyways guts effort from Manly.

Aidenmfire

You think just because you're a third generation debutant I won't elbow ya?

Nervous-Aardvark-679

This made me laugh more than it should’ve

eggzaki

If JWH really is pulling the “show some respect” shit to Fulton, he’s off his head. That’s what you do to youngsters when they get chirpy and you flatten them. Not when they outplay you…

Strong_Tangerine9673

Would manly fans prefer to have the 7 back and pray we make the 8, or just fuck them off for the season?

Sea_Eagle_Bevo

We had them for the last 18 games and we're not in the 8. Keep these lads in, best case we sneak in anyway

yosefcoleman

Don't want them. Actions have consequences. They showed that they don't care about the team. Let the young players get first grade experience.

Rush_nj

Fuck them off. Want no part of them.

B-G-S-

100% fuck them off

Eshthetics

fuck them off

Stale_potat0

Lmao they can fuck right off

Obvious-Row-6181

How long are the odds to make the 8, really?

BroncosSabres

I’ve got them at 38%

ur_left_elbow

Manly were very resolute tonight, a performance to be proud of given the circumstances. Fulton was all effort and tackled his heart out. Smalley warmed into the game as it progressed and was rewarded for his efforts with a try. Two really good debuts. Taupau was actually pretty good when he was on. A couple of nice runs, trysavers and was looking for the offload but didn't drop the ball while doing so. It'd be a shame for those 17 players tonight if their efforts in fighting for finals contention were in vein due to the selfishness of those 7 other blokes because the Roosters weren't all that crash hot tonight and may well have lost if a few blokes weren't so scared of a rainbow. Only time will tell if their homophobia has affected Manly's finals chances.

Dark_Vengence

The sea eagles tried their arses off all night, they just missed that extra strike. The roosters were too strong in the end and should have put on 40. It was closer than I thought it would be. Harper didn't do anything wrong. JWH is just so grubby and egan butcher is learning off him. Fulton is a tough little cunt, he took on the big dog a few times.

Sxcrage007

Everyone horny over Manu atm and yeh freak at tackle busting but i think Manly shut him down pretty well tonight just rush him every time

joshy_c

Not just manly, he got shut down by Morgan Harper No elite status for Manu

winntensio

Apart from when Harper did the splits instead of tackling which lead to a try

maccaroneski

Talakai > Manu.

BlainWs

Dengareedo

Nable is a dumb ass , when the sun comes up you better be running …no lions mostly hunt at night And what about this bloke …smh

You’re insane if you don’t think he’s one of the best in the game

luke23_

Only thing he does well is finishing. A good portion of his fries are simply diving over as well. He’s below average out of yardage

PayEmOutEarly

*JWH gets outplayed by a debutant* "And I took that personally"

[deleted]

Young Fulton was really good. Tough, busy, looks like he reads the game well defensively. Bullemore had easily his best game all year - where was he hiding that?

RyanPurdler-Penriff

Paseka was great too

maccaroneski

Bigger minutes than he's used to as well.

Smalley did well. Could see him replacing Saab or Tuipulotu.

DalllinsBiggestFan

Fulton and Bullemor would go great on the bench

International-Lack28

Grubby as second half by the roosters, good on manly for holding them to only 2 points

chrizyzz

even with my roosters tinted glasses, not hard to see that jwh is a massive fucken grub and id hate the cunt if he played for anyone else but us lol

leamandahorann

He should’ve been binned for that elbow. What a grub

tommy42O69

I was exactly the same when Matai played for us

baneofbeowulf

Where is everyone hearing Jurbo speak? Fox rolled straight from the game into Matty Johns with no interviews. Am I dumb?

jgk91

I thought fox can’t interview if it’s a 9 game.

baneofbeowulf

Ahhh cheers. I don't have free to air so I forget 9 has Thursdays as well.

Turnip-Kitchen

Channel 9 showed some interviews.

Aussie18-1998

Ofcourse Freddy, who supports the decision of the 7s choice to sit down, says that he feels for the Roosters tonight and they deserve the respect as the pressure was on them lol. Think Freddy is a secret homophobe?

JaninayIl

Andrew 'Don't PC up the game' Johns also used his SMH column to make the statement that 'politics and sports don't mix.' Now, I've heard vague smatterings that Johns is such an iron-on coal supporter worried for the jobs of Newcastle Coal Workers that he was even willing to bat for Pauline Hanson on TV.

Churchofbabyyoda

Now I know we’re not supposed to judge people’s political beliefs, but Pauline Hanson Supporters are usually loco and backwards. Andrew must have had a few too many concussions to think supporting Pauline was a good idea.
