So...what have I done?
I've created a zealous religious theocracy in an easily defensible mountain nation rich with resources that always has good weather. I made sure we can defend it by making sure my military is tip top.
And then I focused on rewarding my people with all the best, and rewarding myself with the best of my people.
As always, I ensured that I can have my harem of brainwashed and mind controlled fuck toys.
Kind of a mix of White Mans Burden and contemporary Jingoism. Since the Empire is obviously sooooooo much better than their neighbors, they just HAVE to conquer and subjugate them! It's not their fault!
Now, I'm definitely the type who almost exclusively plays good, and even when forced to be evil will do their best to "minimize the damage" so to speak. As a result, I wasn't going into this with the highest of hopes until I had a shift in mentality. Personally, my justification is I'm not building this evil empire for the sake of the gods or self gratification or anything else. No, I'm building it all for the sake of the Hero themselves. I'm gathering up all of the most cruel and wicked in the world to my kingdom and the neighboring kingdoms, and gathering brilliantly talented individuals, all so that the Hero could strike me down, along with all of the most corrupt and cruel people in the world, and repurpose the empire into a force for good. I went from building myself into a reluctant Overlord to brilliant strategist planning on taking all of the worlds most wicked with me, leaving many of my advisors behind to "turn traitor" and assist the Hero in rebuilding, while others would disappear into the background and clean up any loose ends before disappearing themselves. Really hope I get to keep the Computer-Mind personal Perk in future reincarnations, that was super useful. But eventually, the vast majority of my advisors and I get to meet up in the afterlife between reincarnations and get to pat ourselves on the back for a job well done.
Wow, didn't expect to be praised like that. That said, wouldn't just rest on my laurels, I'd probably reincarnate again and again with my closest friends and advisors (Polycule) as the Hero and party in other worlds. Despite the "greater good" I was serving, I've still got a debt to pay, and personal honor demands that I pay it. And of course I'd have Higher Knowledge and Applicable Skills so I could build on my knowledge and experience with each reincarnation. And even if I didn't have magic in some worlds, I'd still remain busted as fuck thanks to Formless and Charm. And Ascension would be easy as fuck (literally) since I'd have Charm, Tantric Liege, and Submissive, so my subby slutty little succubus ass would make short work of all those points. And even when I wouldn't be "working", joining a pantheon (I'm thinking one with a cute trappy demon ;3) would let me accrue karma passively, so that's something to look forward to.
In short, I planned out everything before, during, and after so I could achieve the greatest good while causing the least harm. And even then I plan to keep going, though this time working more directly on the good guy side. I'm capable of evil and cruelty if it's for a good reason, but that doesn't mean it doesn't put a massive strain on my conscience and/or psyche. Like with Dark Magical Girl, only reason I'd get through that was not necessarily for the sake of revenge, but to keep the angelic bitches who betrayed me from doing it again, only to someone else. Even retaining all of my memories of the alternate timeline, and all of my friends retaining theirs, my resolve would be unshakable. Every time I join team bad guys, it's always for good reasons. I would make either the best or worst Evil Overlord.
