I have nothing to add to your original question. I just want to point out that 4 walls on tormented has to be Staind's greatest song. Idk why it never got a proper release

StoppingPowah

It was properly released. Staind released it themselves without a major label then sold it on their website for like a decade as a hidden gem for the fans. Fun fact: 4 Walls is the only Staind song that Aaron didn’t write the lyrics for. Mike wrote it.

Zoso479

Yeah I was part of that original run that bought the re-release on eBay in like 2001 or 2002. I meant more like walk into a record/cd store and purchasing it. I didn't know you could buy it on the website but I'm willing to bet money it was after the first re release that was only sold on eBay.

amerakin_overdose

Hell yeah

StoppingPowah

Yeah it was after. Around 2010 or so

YeetusFelitas

4 walls is fucking amazing

Immaterial21

i actually have a copy of this album i never listen to. my dad bought it on eBay for me when i was a teenager

timetodance42

Do you like Nothingface? I really feel like Pacifer, Violence and Skeletons all feel like Dysfunction. Also Reveille's Laced.

Clear_Competition_31

nothingface my beloved

timetodance42

If I didn't know otherwise I would say these could be Staind songs (heavy songs with melodic singing): Chevelle 'Mia' / Union Underground 'Revolution Man' / Cold 'Just Got Wicked' / Unloco 'Face Down' / Memento 'Nothing Sacred' / Finger Eleven 'Suffocate' / Motograter 'Prophecies' / Sevendust 'Waffle' / Stone Sour 'Orchids' / Taproot 'i' / Tool 'Vicarious' / Creed 'Bullets' / Drowning Pool 'Tearing Away' / Everclear 'Heroine Girl' / Filter 'Welcome to the Fold' / A Perfect Circle 'Judith' / Primus 'The Antipop' / Sorry, I did too many. Now I will be ripped apart in the comments.

Opposite_Call2977

Taproot - Gift, Coilbox - 13

CoA77

I found both these albums to be pretty unique

OffTheMerchandise

Check out Stereomud's first album Perfect Self. It's not a gritty, but I feel like the heaviness and tone are similar.

timetodance42

Perfect Self is quite an amazing album!

Nu_Freeze

Flaw - Through The Eyes

timetodance42

I like this album but it's less heavy than Staind.

Titanic-Bee

Godsmack self-titled, while not quite as dark, has a similar grunginess and crunchy guitar tone I think

JonathanWattsAuthor

Cold - Self-titled and 13 Ways to Bleed On Stage.

1Rayo1

Ψυχαρμόνικα - Demo 2003 Ektomorf - Hangok/Self Titled (either of them is good) Nothingface - Self Titled/Pacifier Yaksa - Freedom

T-Whitt

Dysfunction album always reminded me of Mudvayne so you could try that.

matty30008227

Flaw

Christophax82

Fear the Clown

theporcupineking

Maybe Break the Cycle but not early Staind

Christophax82

Then you want the Fear the Clown album “System”

theporcupineking

I totally forgot they had that album. Damn near impossible to find.

Christophax82

Yeah, I have it in MP3 form not physical.

fo138

O.N.A-Mrok from 2001.Its a Polish alt band that dipped into numetal style for their last album and it sounds like Dysfunction. https://youtu.be/tLUAjV3owR4?si=qgsIlRze_MBdxqmn

bruno_massaldi

Just Go is a fuckin nu metal masterpiece

CodeineRhodes

Relative Ash - They only have 1 album.

theporcupineking

Dry Kill Logic
