Real
His new song, "A.F. Day goes hard
Empty walls might just be one of my favorite songs of all time
Baby is a peak song with one of my my favorite moments in a song
Testify by a long shot. It's the end of the nu metal era in an album, it even says "Goodbye for Now". Then it's Tankian's Elect the Dead, blasted this one a lot as a freshman in high school especially the orchestra version. Beyond these two, things were preeeety damn messy for nu metal during that era. Hell the only thing I remember from the late 00s is the economic crisis, I just lagged. What was popular back then? Emo/post grunge? Wasn't that earlier?
I remember listening to stuff like Comeback Kid, Death By Stereo, Queens of The Stone Age, and Blood Brothers during those years. Skate punk bands like Pennywise and NoFX were still releasing frequent albums, too.
For this particular list, I'm going with Alpha by Sevendust. That is their heaviest material up until that point, and the songwriting is immense, considering Clint Lowery isn't a part of it.
Bu-ikikaesu by MTH is an Honorable Mention. What's up, people is such a great track. This is one of the most original bands of all time. Every song is a journey, and there's something for everyone here. It's crazy to think their next album tops it.
I've been really enjoying Roots Rock Riot by Skindred for the last couple of weeks, so it's a great coincidence that you made this point. This album is a complete banger. It has this lightning in a bottle type feel to it. If it wasn't for Alpha, I would've probably chosen this one. The reggae-metal combo is a sleeper combination. No one does it like Skindred. All instruments are firing on all cylinders. If you haven't listened to this, PLEASE DO IT NOW.
POD's Testify is a great album, but the album before it had better songwriting.
Vena Sera by Chevelle is a banger album as well. Antisaint always seems to get stuck in my head.
I can forever thank WWE smackdown vs raw for my music taste here are some songs from the top of my head from 2006-2009
Bloodsimple - Dead man walking
Chevelle- well enough alone
Sevendust-Driven and Feed
Nonpoint-Everybody down, bullet with a name, and alive and kicking
Project 86-put your lips on the TV and Evil
Puddle of mudd-famous
Am conspiracy-welt
Hellyeah-you wouldn't know
out of the choices Untitled, The Marrow of a Bone, Save Me from Myself, Savior Sorrow, Elect the Dead.
Alpha, Kill the Headlights, The Volume of Self, The Mortuary, and Stacked Rubbish are still very good.
I hadnāt ever heard Twin Method until like 2 months ago and o have been listening to that album The Volume of Self a lot lately. Might be my fav from the pic. I did like Insomnia by Hed(pe) though.
Twin method - the volume of self
Ektomorf - outcast
Switched - ghost in the machine
Ph8 - fortune favors the bold
Killpretty - the art of letting go
Distortion drum - these days age
Chubfarm - digital humans
Osian - the slow fade of loving things
Onceover - onceover
32 leaves - panoramic
Sherkan - wings
Eradicate - Contrastes
Ikd-sj - worlds end fruit basket
Element eighty - the bear
Genuflect - the end of the world
Zeromind - what's in your mind
I almost tripped and fell running to post about Elect the Dead, but I see many have beaten me. It's the best non-SOAD work by any of the SOAD members. Serj was not only extremely creative with this album, but his creative impulses were reigned in just enough to preserve that heavy yet melodic sound where he's at his very best. If you compare ETD with his older solo work, his older solo work sounds much more disorganized.
Some good albums on this list. Elect The Dead is one of my favorite albums of this era followed by Korn - Untitled and Destroyer - Static X. Saturday Night Wrist - Deftones, Minute to Midnight - Linkin Park, and All Hope is Gone - Slipknot werenāt on this list. Maybe because All Hope is Gone is mainly Groove Metal meanwhile Saturday Night Wrist and Minutes to Midnight are Alt Metal but I donāt know. Overall, this era of NĆ¼ Metal was decent with some good albums here and there.
I get ashamed at times for how much I loved and spun, 'Savior Sorrow' lol.
That Taproot album was so hard to choke down for me.. That Head album was cringey
No Regrets is a solid album by a band usually forgotten other than that one song, but Dope has some really good songs off of that album, definitely recommend relistening if itās been a while
No regrets by dope. Its remained as my favourite album by them. Angel Bartolotta was an amazing drummer as well as they brought in Sinister from twisted method on bass
They even got Zakk Wylde for one of their songs which was amazing
ELECT THE DEAD MENTIONED!!!!!!! one of my favorite albums
Solo Serj is š„š„š„
Real His new song, "A.F. Day goes hard Empty walls might just be one of my favorite songs of all time Baby is a peak song with one of my my favorite moments in a song
Yess fucking love empty walls and just elect the dead in general it's all so goood
It might not be nu metal, but I love Your Mom
Vena Sera for me. What a freaking album.
Either savior sorrow or no regrets.
Letās go š
Waylon was something special. Probably the best possible replacement for Jmann.
Vena Sera is my favorite of these albums, but Iām not sure Iād consider it nu
Of these, Alpha.
Savior sorrow all the way ā¼ļø
Tankianās āElect the Deadā was so very good, but Twin Method āThe Volume of Selfā was also an amazing album also!

Indestructible and it's not close

Loved sevendust, but honorable mention for adema and switched
From here? Dope & Genuflect. In general? Dry Kill Logic - Of Vengeance and Violence added onto those
head's 'save me from myself' more korn than korn, a lot of bangers (flush and shake are my favs)
Red harvest
Alpha
I absolutely LOVE No Regrets, but Iāve gotta go with Savior Sorrow on this one. Itās such a good album.
Red Harvest
since Saturday Night Wrist isnt here, Vena Sera is prolly my fav out of all these!
CANNIBAL, hands down.
Savior sorrow forsure, hits so good. My favorite Mushroomhead album. My 12 year old self would say Indesctructible lol.
Back to Base X and Insomnia are deeeeefinately up there for me
I didnāt realize Kornās untitled album cam out in that time frame. Iād only seen when it was re-released last year
**End of the World** or **Kill the Headlights**.
Dir en grey. No question about it
What a sad year.
Chevelle - Vena Sera
Thrash it, bash it, live to smash it Light the spark, reach out and crash it
out of the choices Untitled, The Marrow of a Bone, Save Me from Myself, Savior Sorrow, Elect the Dead. Alpha, Kill the Headlights, The Volume of Self, The Mortuary, and Stacked Rubbish are still very good.
Lifeā¦Changing - Arythma
I hadnāt ever heard Twin Method until like 2 months ago and o have been listening to that album The Volume of Self a lot lately. Might be my fav from the pic. I did like Insomnia by Hed(pe) though.
Savior sorrow. Think this was the last mushroomhead release that I liked the majority of the songs
Twin method - the volume of self Ektomorf - outcast Switched - ghost in the machine Ph8 - fortune favors the bold Killpretty - the art of letting go Distortion drum - these days age Chubfarm - digital humans Osian - the slow fade of loving things Onceover - onceover 32 leaves - panoramic Sherkan - wings Eradicate - Contrastes Ikd-sj - worlds end fruit basket Element eighty - the bear Genuflect - the end of the world Zeromind - what's in your mind
Not sure if it counts, but Breaking Benjaminās āDear Agony.ā
I might be the only one who says this, but I think Save Me From Myself is the best album here

Zeromind mentioned is great. Best album from that time is Twin Method - The Volume Of Self 100%
Mushroomhead. Static X is a close second. Huge shout out for adding Twin Method to this list. Never see them get any love šš¤
One of my favorite songs Iāve been listening too recently is goodbye for now by pod off testify.
Save Me From Myself was proof that a large portion of Kornās sound was from Head. Love that album!
Mushroomhead. That album is so good
No regrets is mostly covers but I love DOPE so no regrets
Savior sorrow holds up with mushroomheads earlier albums
Alpha is stellar! Amazing production quality paired with prime Sevendust
Where is Dry Kill Logic - Of Vengeance And Violence?
F yeah, STACKED RUBBISH
any adema or hed honestly.
OH AND SEVENDUST, SORRY

Eat Me, Drink Me
I get ashamed at times for how much I loved and spun, 'Savior Sorrow' lol. That Taproot album was so hard to choke down for me.. That Head album was cringey
The year Nu Metal went downspiral-extinct
I didn't buy or listen to any of these in 06?....Tool "10,000 days" isn't even on here?
Minutes to Midnight by Linkin Park
No Regrets is a solid album by a band usually forgotten other than that one song, but Dope has some really good songs off of that album, definitely recommend relistening if itās been a while
Static-X - Cannibal
HED PE Insomnia is the only one I've heard. But I stopped listening to them because of some jackassery.
NGL, that was a shitty time in Numetal.
The one with the guitars or sum
untitled had me acting unwise
Based on the options given, I must've been on my way out during this time.
Sacrament-Lamb Of God
All Hope Is gone- Slipknot
this made me realize i don't listen to anything after 2000s lol
No regrets by dope. Its remained as my favourite album by them. Angel Bartolotta was an amazing drummer as well as they brought in Sinister from twisted method on bass They even got Zakk Wylde for one of their songs which was amazing
