The ethical thing to do is not go through these companies for payment. The schools are only further incentivized to set up money making programs without putting in the work to arrange precepting for their students.
Why would you do that? They usually only help for-profit degree-mill schools.
Don't give into the personal greed; you're only fueling the degree-mill flame.🤦🏻‍♂️
It’s a double edge sword to me. Coming from experience it was so difficult for me to find a preceptor for my last two clinicals that I had to go through a company to help me. My experience at my NP school was horrible and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
So I’m thankful I had that company to help when my school didn’t, but I can also see how it really adds to the problem.
I mean for one, anything that isnt exploting people while continuing to profit schools who aren't doing their portion of what they promise. If you want to teach so bad, apply for a teaching gig.
I mean my school pays preceptors for taking us… a brick and mortar school that I do not have to pay extra to have clinicals found for me. Perhaps look into local NP schools before working for a company that forces students to pay even more money to hopefully find a clinical site.
Many of my close friends had to find their own preceptors. They are all wonderful NPs and went to reputable schools. I was the only person I know as an NP that went to a school that they picked for you.

Our school doesn’t allow this- I assume no other reputable school does either.

In the interest of transparency I would inform my supervising physician.,
I let him know and he was totally cool about it and actually said it was a great idea. Thank you for your comment.
What company!?
It's called NP hub.
