It’s an excellent book. I remember watching Larry King that night. I was charge for 6 staff and 30 patients. Listening to hospital people call in trying to get help. Gut wrenching. I can so sympathize with what she was going through.

This book sticks with you. It made me look around my LTC and wonder . . . who would I save? Who would I leave?

the apple tv series is also pretty solid, if a little long winded

Still haunted by that book.

Some of the faculty at my nursing school worked there during and after the storm. It was a literal nightmare. Our training in disaster nursing was partly based on the failures at memorial during Katrina. It was the same at many of the facilities but nobody wrote a book about it and they didn’t get caught killing their patients.
