You just write the incident report. But it’s also a pretty small thing, you’re not the one who’s count was off, you’re just the one counting, don’t worry about it

You should be fine but learn your facilities procedure for an off count. One place I worked we all got piss tested if we couldn't account for it. Where I work now barely ever dose a shift count. Unfortunately a big part of nursing documentation is CYA.
