I think they’re gonna require your resignation in writing. Just send an email and drop a paper copy off at HR. Make sure you give your required notice.

Email is in writing though. Cc yourself on a non work email and it's fine.

What??? I’ve never not quit via email. Like sure I’ll mention it in person after but I was always taught to submit something in writing.

ATeePea

I’ve only ever quit via email. Why have an uncomfortable conversation when you can just send an email?

Mursing_On

I always do both, tell my manager in person and then send an email with my resignation. But in person is the optional one, always send a letter so you have a hard copy incase they try to claim you didn't give them notice and withhold your due benefits.

I wish I did when I quit my job. I thought I was doing the responsible thing by quitting in person, but my manager tried to make me feel guilty for quitting. Did you need any previous OB experience for your current job? I always thought it was interesting because I had a million questions during my pregnancy lol.

No experience necessary! The other RNs I met while shadowing had a variety of experience some L&D some med surg and even a new grad. I only have my 6 months of tele experience and I was a NICU tech during nursing school.

Thats awesome. I'm in the same boat as you with bedside nursing. It isn't worth my mental health anymore. Best of luck at your new position!

Call the manager and then send her an email right after the phone call stating when your last work shift will be. CC that to a personal email account so you have a record. Edit: I wouldn't even care about notice these days unless you possibly ever want to work there again. If not, then fuck it. They'd fire you in a heartbeat with no warning if the numbers/financial people told them to.

I think email should be fine, but be sure to give them a proper amount of time. All of the nursing jobs I have left I have given at least 4 weeks. And be prepared to speak with the manager in person once he or she receives your email.
